Where would he be? A mid-carder? Or a number one contender?

If the unfortunate incidents never occurred, he would've won the ECW title and possibly joined Bret Hart in forming a new Hart Foundation with Chris Jericho, Edge, Natttie Neidhart, Harry Smith, and TJ Wilson.

Lock in 'in the slammer'. Final answer.
Now if the question was 'if he hadn't snapped and was still an active wrestler', I think he would have moved onto a semi-active wrestling role. If we assume he was still in WWE at 2010, he would have been in the business for about 25 years, he'll probably be winding down, getting ready for a backstage role or leaving WWE and opening up his own school/working his own schedule.
The easiest answer: If he were still alive we wouldn't have to sit through any "What if Beniot was still alive?" threads.

If he was active, he'd probably be in the same role he was in before going to ECW. A mid to top midcarder who would be carrying either the US or IC title and help putting over up and comers like he did with MVP.
Hell, with Kane and Mysterio getting runs with the title, Benoit may have actually saw a second WHC reign if he was on SmackDown!. He'd likely feud with guys like Punk, Swagger, McIntyre, Del Rio, etc.

probably drooling into his porridge, since he had the mind of an 85 year old alzeimers sufferer. now i suppose it'd be an 88 year old, minimum.

If he didn't die then, he'd definitely be dead now.

probably would have had at least another world title run .Would have loved to see him against daniel bryan in a submission match.i think he would have been a top contender for EVERY title(yes i think he was that good.)All of this is moot though since what happened but it is a good " what if".

If he was on Raw, he'd either be lost in the shuffle or be jobbing to the main eventers. He would have had a better chance at being in higher profile feuds and getting additional runs as the top champion on SmackDown!.

he could have possibly gone down the pecking order even if he was ecw champion, would have had a really nice little program with cm punk.
could have joined tna if he didnt find a challenge in wwe or go to fcw to become a trainer.
barring his snap...imagine chris benoit as an NXT PRO....would have had the potential for some cool vignettes with him and a rookie.

agree :y:
Benoit was probably my favorite wrestler before his murder/suicide. Even thinking about where he'd be is almost impossible to comprehend. His actions changed the entire company in huge and numerable ways. It'd be an entirely different place.

By now he'd be in the mid-card, kinda preparing/working part time as a road agent.
He would have beat CM Punk to win the ECW title three years ago, but sadly no more WWE/World title runs.
He'd be in TNA taking unblocked chair shots to the head like a champ.

He'd be in that level with Chistian. Jobber to the up and comers.

...I'd guess if Benoit was still alive, he would be spending the rest of his life in jail.

I could've seen him going to TNA.
He'd want to be where he'd be able to do something new and still have those bigger level matches. He was a guy who really was about contributing and giving back to the business.
Angle, Wolfe, Rhyno, Abyss, Hardy, etc. all could've had some great matches with him - along with him working with guys like Booker T., Christian, etc. who were around in TNA before.
What a shame. I definitely miss seeing Benoit in the ring.

If he murdered his family: Life sentence
If nothing happened: Still be that midcarder guy who only fights for the IC or US title, maybe another World championship run. I think he'd be booked to put people over. in few years time he'd be a trainer or a road agent.

Road agent down the line a la Dean Malenko
One thing's for sure, he'd be showing the other guys how to actually wrestle.
He was one of the best in ring.

If he was still alive and didnt murder his family, the wwe would have a hell of a lot less editing to do.
As stupid as this will sound, when the murders happened, i didnt believe he killed his family, and i really felt it was all a setup and that he knew too much about something or saw something he should not have.
Fortunately I think I grasped the fact he did it after awhile. Anyone who believes the wacky benoit conspiracy theories out there??
