View Full Version : Your Limit : What would make you stop watching?

Well?

We're all guilty of letting off some steam and ripping the product from time to time but the question remains, what would be your breaking point?

I've been watching since WM 6. The only thing i could imagine stopping me now would just simply to slowly stop watching and have it fade as an interest.

Same here.

I've been watching since 98 (after falling away from it in 95). If anything I've been watching more lately thanks to YouTube. It would have to come down to lacking time to sit down and watch the shows.

Nothing will stop me from watching wrestling in general. However, WWE is really getting to the point where I just don't care. I doubt I'd stop watching WWE as a whole but I think there's a chance that I'll just stop watching unless something important/good is happening. I really only watch RAW and the PPVs as it is.

Going to EVOLVE really revitalized my love for wrestling and has gotten me interested in the indies. So I think as I get more into that WWE will start taking a back seat.

The only thing that would make me stop watching is if there was absolutely zero wrestlers who I have to look forward to seeing.

I will stop watching wrestling if all companies become sports entertainment.

So you've stopped watching I'm guessing?

No, there's indy companies who still focus on just wrestling.

I stopped watching when Cena became the focal point of Raw, and the PG era was coming to life.

I say that shit all the time. I guess nothing will really make me quit watching. Granted right now I'm in a "could care less" phase where I skip a few weeks here and there without much thought.

I was pretty close to stop watching NXT before Cole went berserk and got me intrigued again. I watch it for fun, so I doubt I will ever get to that point with Raw or Smackdown.

Wrestling as a whole?... I don't know.

I stopped watching TNA because of the terrible writing, booking, characters, WWE ripoffs, misused talent, and over pushed talent. I'd continue to watch again if they started making sense.

WWE is a hit or miss. Sometimes Raw will mostly be great, other times it's crap. Right now the only thing saving the anonymous GM are Jericho and Edge. Nexus are the main reason why I want to tune in. WWE needs to stop being stubborn and just push who the fans want to see in the main event.

I've always had a love for wrestling thanks to my dad. I don't think I could ever stop watching. If something goes bad and I don't like it, I'll look for an alternative, but not quit.

Ah, I thought we were talking about watching on television. The only indy fed that I know that airs in my area is something called Big Time Wrestling. It airs after Smackdown on MyNetworkTV.

I consider ROH Professional Ranks. Not sure what others classify it as.

Xero
09-16-2010, 06:22 PM
ROH is glorified indies to me. And I'm not using that as an insult. It's just an independent company with a nation TV and PPV deal.

It's the same as ECW, really. "National Independents".

Because I stopped watching WWE months ago.

Even as much as I hate Cena. I've been watching this stuff since i was 2 years old. Yes I'm serious freakin 2. There is no way I'd stop watching it in some form or another. I have become a TNA fan more then WWE in the last five years. The buisness needs another shot in the arm in this wrestling fans opinion.

The only thing that could make me stop watching to tell ya the truth is if it just stopped appearing on tv. I will always watch.

There has been periods where I stopped watching certain shows/brands but majority of the time was due to either the show changing its channel (ex. Smackdown) or not being available at college (ex. RAW).

Closet I've come to stop watching would be certain Monday Night Football matchups or the "24" tv series the last 4-5 years while forgetting to watch Smackdown or ECW but never at a level to completely stop watching wrestling.

Months ago? I don't think anything really happened months ago that could warrant stop watching. I mean the Nexus storyline has been decent enough to keep my attention. Hornswoggle is off on Smackdown finally, and the WWE Champion is a monster heel in Sheamus.

I don't think I'll ever stop watching WWE. I'm addicted to it plain and simple.

I don't think anything could get me to stop watching short of a law banning pro-wrestling from being aired in the USA

I don't watch on a regular basis anymore. If anything I catch matches of interest online and maybe a PPV or two. It just doesn't have the spark it used to have. I blame the writers.

I'm not a hardcore wrestling fan, so it wouldn't be difficult.

I already stopped watching from 2003ish to 2008, so I wouldn't have a problem stopping again if I get bored with the product or I find something better to do.

I stopped in 2003ish after Triple H screwed Katie's brains out. Didn't watch another event till 2009

I don't watch it nearly as much as I used to due to my job, other sports, the gf and the kid and other things to do, but I still watch when I can. I keep up to date on the results and other things on the net, but I'll never watch as much as I used to.

And Destro, apparently your views aren't popular because nobody has or will ever give a flying fuck about the indies.

I stopped watching regularly when RAW lost its focal point storylines, putting more emphasis on one-off feuds featuring John Cena, Edge, Batista and Triple H. I stopped when they got rid of the profanity and the adult content, because I'm an adult, and I'm not much entertained by bland, development and layer-lacking storylines featuring guys who hang out with a midget (because it's "funny") and tell terrible jokes for a quarter of the 2-hour show I used to love. A show where the main good guy comes out every night and cuts the most white-fish, cookie-cutter Uber-Super Good Guy promos and even though he used to be booed relentlessly by a large part of the crowd at every fucking show, they STILL kept pushing him. I stopped watching because the WWE doesn't change or evolve their main character at all. I stopped watching when they got rid of the Cruiserweight title in favor of more Great Khali and Mark Henry and fucking Big Daddy V.

I stopped watching the WWE when they became cheap piece of shit whores, putting more emphasis on boring characters who relate to little kids who will bug Mom and Dad to buy them a fucking spinner John Cena WWE Title belt, over well-written, long-term, evolution and character development based storylines.

If wwe's roster became so awful then i'lld stop watching completely but while there's talent there, there's still some interest imo.

A bestiality angle
Cena unifying every belt
Heath Slater as WWE Champ
Womens wrestling as the main priority
Cartoony angles (like Hornswoggle running through walls last yr)
