Ride of the Valkyries! Personally, I love it. But I could see why it would raise a few eyebrows here.

I got a feeling his music is going to change again, just so Cole and Miz get annoyed. But something tells me that at HIAC, WWE will let him use Final Countdown.

A mild yay. Bryan's gimmick right now seems to be this really badass nerd, and it fits that. I guess I'm just not 100% sold on the long term trajectory of the gimmick.

Doesn't Sara Del Ray use that same theme?

It's Sara Del Rays music!!! I love how this is Rise Of The Valkyries from Apocalypse Now a movie about the Vietnam War and has absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars and Star Trek. I was laughing at how dumb Miz and Cole were during this segment.

I agree he comes off as the guy you know you could beat the shit out of. But then when you go toe to toe with him you get tied up into a pretzel by him. It works really well. I want to see him and Edge have an actual match.

If you were laughing at how dumb Miz and Cole were for those reasons then you're completely missing the point.

Not to mention it's a song composed by Wagner and not "from" Apocalypse Now.
It's notoriously known for being played by Nazi's before some raids. From there it's become known as an anthem of attack or whatever, hence the usage in Apocalypse Now and a million other things, including Bryan's theme.

Seriously, if I were in charge of this little thing, I would have him come out to classical tones each time (Carmen Overture, Beethoven's Figaro, Ode to Joy etc) till Bryan gets "fed up" and demands something else. He goes back for a re-entry and voila, The Final Countdown plays in the entire arena driving the internet community to commence jacking off.

I swear if they played that, they better do the whole 'New Jack' thing and leave it playing during the match. I can just imagine Miz getting chased around the ring by Bryan trying to get avoided getting turned into a pretzel.

It's different and helps him stand out even more. I give it a yay, even though they could have chosen a better song... or at least a better version of it.

It's a meh sure it's was quite the contrast from what he had before and I did get a chuckle out of it but surely there is something more appropriate like a cheap knockoff of Final Countdown would work just fine.

I felt the same way about it as I did about Kendrick's music in TNA- "What the fuck is this? Then I remembered, it's "Kil the Wabbit". GTFO. They showed him reading last night. Maybe they are trying to make him the "intellectual wrestler" or something. Vegan, reads books, likes classical music etc. It's still better then R-truth's,that's for damn sure.

I think the random theme every week would be fresh. Make him stand out from the rest of the roster. A gimmick of sorts

At the local wrestling show I used to attend thats actually the theme used for the ring security coming to the ring at the beginning of the show. And yes...even the camera guy had theme music
Mr. Nerfect
09-22-2010, 05:51 AM
Hahaha, that was actually really awesome. It actually fits Bryan. He's got that whole "nerd" thing about him they are playing up, and it's ominous enough. It has ties to Fujiwara, as someone said, and Ric Flair used Also sprach Zarathustra. I could see people really getting into the idea of this theme playing, and knowing that someone is going to get their fuckin' head kicked in.

So, by this logic, Daniel Bryan should get a glowing endorsement from Bobby Heenan... because "he's no ham 'n egger".
