TNA's Newest Signing is......

As noted earlier today here on the website and on TNAWrestlingNews.com, former WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James is expected to sign a contract with TNA Wrestling today — if she hasn’t already. Those close to the situation have indicated that James would finalize her contract today, but additional details are not available at press time. It appears as though the two sides have definitely agreed to a verbal deal though.

Despite her release from World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year and simultaneous foray into the country music world, James continued her wrestling career as she has appeared on numerous independent shows since that time.

According to one source, James is expected to debut in October, likely at the October 7th live TNA iMPACT! or the October 10th TNA Bound For Glory PPV

Don't forget, TNA also emulates a lot of the blood, violence, and *ahem* 'mature audiences' stuff of the '98-'08 (approximately) WWF/E era, so even though she might not be in the best of shape, weight wise, I'd definitely tune in every once in a while if she went back to the tank top and short skirt look from her early days in WWE, and got a decent push, at least a test run with the Knockouts' Championship (if that's what they're still calling it).

the weekly ppvs were completely unedited for 2 hours and cost 10 bucks. They had some really good storylines going back then. I say leave the weight on Alexis. She's hot either way and i am for sure "Thinkin about Arby's" now.

Daivari wasn't a major player with WWE though. Mickie James was a star of the WWE division at one point. TNA would be stupid to change her name and not capitalize on what's already established and considering they let Lacey Von Erich keep her real name and ODB use the same name she used in Ohio Valley Wrestling, I think she'll be okay.
