View Full Version : Kane vs. The Undertaker: How Would You End It?
Mr. C

It’s safe to assume this will be the last time these two guys feud. How would you like to see it end?
Kane beats Undertaker at Hell In A Cell because Paul Bearer turns on Undertaker, putting him out. Kane faces The Big Show at Bragging Rights. Undertaker returns, challenging Kane to one final showdown: a Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series. They go back and forth until Undertaker chokeslams Kane into the grave and buries him along with Bearer, ending the feud.
I just don’t want the feud to end at Hell In A Cell, and it should have a conclusion that fits the history of the rivalry itself. Survivor Series would be perfect.

Survivor Series.
Taker's 20th anniversary in WWE is when he should win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Kane should hold it until then.

I think it's very fitting for the feud to end at Hell in a Cell. 13 years ago, Kane debuted in the first Hell in a Cell, costing The Undertaker a chance at a World Championship. Now Kane is the defending World Champion almost 13 years later to the date against The Undertaker in the same match type. It would be fitting here for Taker to win the Championship and end the feud, in my opinion.
Also, if Kane decides to hang it up after this match, it would be a perfect ending.

I can see a swerve at HIAC by Paul Bearer joining Kane so Kane can retain the belt, then at Survivor Series 'Taker to regain the belt and put Kane and Bearer in the casket to end it all.

Kane's not going anywhere. If anything, that's why he should win.

I really like the idea of Survivor Series and Hell in a Cell because of history. Kane's first match in the WWF was at Survivor Series 1997.
But I would hate to see Kane lose again to Taker. I want him to take one big match from him.

I love the idea, but I would have Taker hold onto the belt until Wrestlemania, with Kane finally winning Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant..... He can say he hasn't had his fill of Take yet and wants one more shot at WM..... Obviously Taker retains at Mania

The placement of Paul Bearer seems the most likely, especially since their running with Kane obtaining Undertaker's powers.
I know it's a long shot, but what are the odds of them somehow including McCool into the mix? She could run in during a beat down by Kane and try to protect him, seeing as how Undertaker is already coming off as "weaker" I think having McCool is his corner could make things interesting. Of course this could only happen after the breakup of LayCool, which is a possibility after they merge the two women titles.
I really like Rated R Classic's idea, but how likely is a buried alive match in this new PG era?

It would be better if the title was removed from the feud.

They had one in 1996 when the product was PG back then.
The only way I'd truly be interested in this feud would be if it was the end of the Kane character.
I've suggested it before, but I would love to see it all come to an end at Hell in a Cell. It's one or two days off from Kane's debut in the Cell at Badd Blood, so it bookends the character nicely.
Bringing (Spoiler: Bearer) back into the mix is a huge throw back for the feud and does set up the end of the character nicely. If there was more build for this PPV I could see it working, but at this rate I have a feeling it'll be going until at least Survivor Series, and the Kane character won't end because that's not how WWE works.

Threesome in a cell with Katie Vick.
You know, this is a huge problem with WWE. There is no logical order of gimmick matches anymore in a feud. Hell in a Cell, Last Man Standing, Buried Alive and similar gimmicks should be feud enders. Now they just throw them willy nilly into the gimmick because, oh shit, we have a PPV called Hell in a Cell now! So now we have Hell in a Cell in the middle of a storyline and it fucking ends with a singles match or a No DQ match.

Well in my eyes this Feud is different its ok to start this in a gimmick match. But I do understand what you are saying. I believe the best feuds always start off with couple of singles matches one of them ending a DQ then thats when you start the gimmicks.

Sorry but I only have internet fanboy answers to questions like this.
Should definitely end with Kane having to re-mask IMO. Some sort of inferno match deal.
I'm not completely sold on this feud rehash, not because it's the billionth time it's happened, but because this rivalry wasn't created in the PG era; it was born way beforehand. How can the limitations the WWE has imposed on itself result in anything other than another unsatisfying result in this?

Kane's work right now has been the best of his career. He has said that he isn't going anywhere, and the way they've built him up has been that this is the pinnacle of who he is. They almost literally get to re-write who the stronger brother is here. With so many top stars leaving, it seems almost counter-productive to have Kane's newfound credibility dashed the same way it always has been -- The Undertaker beating him cleanly. But then again, as the face in the feud, and one of the biggest names in the company, it makes logical sense to have Kane drop the title off to his brother in a moment of vindication.
The thing I dislike least about this feud (at least on paper), is that it seems almost booked into a corner. I do like the idea of Paul Bearer siding with Kane. It was he who introduced Kane into the WWE, and he's the kayfabe father of the Devil's Favorite Demon. Given that Taker encased Bearer in concrete the last time we saw him, it would make sense that he sides with Kane over Taker.
Given that Bragging Rights is coming up, though -- I think that the WWE could really benefit by doing Champion vs. Champion Matches on the show. I would have loved to have seen Triple H capture the WWE Title from Sheamus at Hell in a Cell, leading to Triple H vs. The Undertaker at BR. That would be a match special enough to get marks and smarks to order the event. That's obviously not the route they are going, though.
Sheamus wins the WWE Title back at Hell in a Cell -- how is not important, but Randy Orton should not be made to look weak by the loss. Sheamus just looks cunning and violent. Taker beats Kane at Hell in a Cell, but Kane has some sort of excuse ("I almost became engulfed by the same pride that allowed me to destroy you"). Sheamus vs. The Undertaker at Bragging Rights, with Orton and Kane serving on the RAW and SmackDown! teams at the PPV, respectively. Kane costs The Undertaker the match against Sheamus, and the WWE Champion gets to stand strong, and Taker has unresolved issues with Kane.
Survivor Series sees Kane regain the World Heavyweight Title in a Buried Alive Match. While we are in a PG-era, the horror connotations in the feud could allow it to have a supernatural and backwards appeal, perhaps even stronger in this era than in the Attitude. There you do the Bearer turn, with Kane regaining the World Heavyweight Championship and Taker taking some time off so he is nice and fresh for WrestleMania.
This also allows Sheamus to get a win over Taker, which he can use to brag about (in addition to ending Triple H's career and beating Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell), which can be used to set-up that rumoured WrestleMania match between the two, hopefully away from World Titles. Although people probably don't want to see interference in a Taker WM match, Triple H returning at that event by costing Sheamus the match could be pretty epic, and set up blood-feud between the two that could last through the summer.

Paul Bearer will introduce a second son who will be used to destroy both Kane and The Undertaker, but you’ll have to choose very carefully because it’s the kind of setup that you don’t want to waste on someone where it’s going to backfire and flop. He doesn’t have to be related to Undertaker, but would be related to Kane if they’ve got the same father. Brodus Clay has a look similar to Kane. Throw a mask on him, and it could work.
Ezekiel Jackson. Matt Striker can go the "Paul Bearer had an affair with Taker's parents ebony housemaid" part.

...yeah, the man who hangs out with guys who survive being burned, buried, suffocated, and crushed... the guy who hangs out with pyrokinetic beasts who like to inhabit coffins... the guy who carries a mystical urn that grants supernatural powers to those in whom he finds favor... yeah, it makes no sense that a guy like that would survive something fledgeling magicians survive routinely...

But WWE kinda messed up by having Paul Bearer go heel AGAIN...in a perfect world, The Undertaker would retire with Bearer by his side, so how can the WWE pair them up AGAIN later on? I dont know...just...should've left them together.

I was thinking maybe they could sign God to one more match. I mean, with Undertaker being the Phenom, and Kane being the Devil's favorite demon it would only make sense to have a triple threat match at Survivor Series between Kane, Undertaker, and God. I know he only worked that one tag match with Shawn Michaels against the McMahons, but they say "never say never" in wrestling. Plus, if he is busy he can always send Jesus to take care of it. Instant Classic and vintage God.

With Kane winning at Hell in a Cell and the Buried Alive Match being advertised for Bragging Rights, I have to change my pick. The WWE have done a fantastic job of Kane pulling one over The Undertaker every time in this feud so far. I like it, because it makes The Undertaker look human (which I think he should for his retirement, just so that he can retire as a person, and not as this supernatural character). To me, it doesn't make sense for Taker to win the Buried Alive Match. Even if he buried Kane and Bearer, it means Kane has to take time off, etc. Otherwise the gimmick is no-sold.
Kane wins Buried Alive. Cleanly. He beats Kaval at Survivor Series, to get that title shot out of the way. Kaval gets an impressive showing, but they obviously need to supplement the card with bigger matches. The Undertaker can take some time off so he is all good for WrestleMania season. Taker returns and costs Kane the World Heavyweight Title to someone. Whoever they want to be defending in the SmackDown! main event at WrestleMania. Big Show, Edge or Rey Mysterio seem like logical choices to me at the moment.
Kane then tells The Undertaker that he has dominated his brother, is now the better, and he's going to take the last piece of mystique the Dead Man has...his WrestleMania streak. Others have been rumoured as Taker's WrestleMania opponent, but doing Kane vs. Taker at Mania again with Kane going over Taker three times in a row the last they fought would get the marks all wound up about his chances against Kane.
At WrestleMania, Taker gets his third victory against Kane at Mania, hopefully with Kane looking like a beast throughout. The next year it's Taker vs. Cena -- 20-0 or Taker's record is broken by The Franchise.

The way that this storyline will end is with Cibernetico, Chessman and Charly Manson debuting and destroying the both of them. La Secta Cibernetica will then destroy Nexus, end john Cena's carrer, and rule the WWE for the next decade...
Side note, Undertaker will win at Wrestlemania

I would have Kane ultimately go over cleanly...and perhaps retiring the Undertaker for good. Even if Taker doesn't retire, I'd still have Kane go over. Give Kane a lengthy and solid World title reign and have him be a major player at Mania..with Paul Bearer by his side. Kane has been a team player from Day 1 and is well deserving of this.
If Kane is on the verge of retiring however, then Taker should go over obviously.
Mankind won it..
Nope, Undertaker won the Buried Alive match in 96 against Mankind. Look it up.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Your_House_11:_Buried_Alive
Taker buried Mankind enough to win the match (which at the time was just covering his body with a thin layer of dirt with a shovel). After he won he kept shoveling dirt on Mankind. The ref tried to stop him and he pushed him off and kept shoveling. Then he got attacked from behind by Executioner. Mankind got out of the grave. Taker got thrown in. Several heals came out including Goldust, JBL (in an early gimmick that predated even the New Blackjacks), and HHH very early in his WWE career. Everyone picked up a shovel and went to work until the grave was filled.
