With the recent threads about Hall of Fame and Michael Cole, I wanted to raise this question.
Will Michael Cole one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
No, he isn't the best wrestling announcer ever. He hasn't always been the most popular guy amongst the fans.
BUT- he has been with the WWE since 1997. Don't see him leaving RAW anytime soon.
So if anything, based on his time in WWE with pretty much no breaks...if he works with WWE until 2020- I can see him being in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Not making a case for him deserving or not deserving it- I'll let you guys decide that. Tell me yes or no, and why.

Yes. Love him or hate him, he has been with the company forever and has done a good [or bad] enough job to the point where everyone knows who he is.
Plus, he seems to do whatever is asked of him (except be professional toward Striker) so that's a point for him.

Yeah, he'll be there. He's went from straight man bland face (ala Todd Grishim) to a legitimate onscreen character, and done it surprisingly well. One thing that you mentioned, and I believe is really true, is that the WWE rewards longevity. The guy is, for better or worse, the voice of the WWE, and will be for the foreseeable future. For that and that alone, he'll make it in.
Random note, this is Cole's best work:

If Koko B Ware is in it why not....
Seriously though, the guy deserves it. He's been around for 100 years and has built himself into a household name for his announcing/interviewing.

The Rock should induct him and put a t-shirt over his head

Not any time soon, but in maybe 10 or 20 years time.

Cole is the best announcer in WWE today. He has developed a great character and he knows how to tell a story in the ring (something I always thought he was good at). I don't like Striker at all Grisham and Matthews are bland and King is not King anymore, but I still like King as I can't just start disliking him. I think King is at that level where he is just going with the motions.

Cole will go in one day, unless he spirals out, pisses off Vince McMahon and leaves and does a bunch of shoots calling the WWE the devil and TNA the next biggest company, or whatever.
He's been with the WWE for years. He started off doing the interviewer thing, and then he joined the commentary desk. The guy has called multiple main events at WrestleMania and went from being "The Voice of SmackDown!" to "The Voice of RAW" and without a doubt "The Voice of the WWE."
That he has started to develop a character now also boosts his chances. To be honest, right now, who knows what the future holds for Cole? The guy is a good enough personality to be able to manager some guys or serve as an authority figure you want to see get his head stomped. There is no reason that Cole will not, one day, go in -- if we are merely talking his resume.
