I have Philips Gogear Ariaz mp3 player and earlier when I connected it to my laptop, I was able to play the files in Winamp, Spotify, etc. But now out of nowhere it won't allow me do it anymore. I try to import the songs, but Spotify doesn't recognize my player and Winamp won't let play the songs without copying them to the laptop first.
What I noticed from "my computer" was that earlier the player was always in F drive, but now the player suddenly has it's own seperate icon.
Has anyone had similar problems and knows what I can do to play the files in spotify & winamp again? It's really a big issue for me because all my music is in the mp3 player and now I can't listen to them anymore (well not with the computer, I can still listen to them by using the player itself). So any ideas how to fix this problem?

Well does anyone know if I can "force" the mp3 player to be read by the F drive and not allow it to be read as its own system (or whatever the correct word would be), so it would not create it's own icon?
Did you update the firmware of the player between now and then? Or maybe did a Windows Update?
I don't know, sounds like something changed with how it's detected.

Try this: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/faqview?view=aa12_view_full.html&dct=QAC&refnr=0079184&slg=AEN&scy=US&ctn=SA2ARA16K/17
Please try the supplied software, Philips Songbird:
Install the software and run it with your player connected to your PC. You can download it under Software & Drivers section in our support website.
Click the Tool menu in the Philips Songbird and select "Repair my Philips GoGear", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process.

If I understood the instructions correctly, this "NOTE: Contents will be removed by using the repair function." means my songs will be deleted from the player?
and to Xero's question, yes I updated my windows xp and some media players, but not the mp3 player

I guess so. If you can't use it, it's useless anyway though. Don't have the songs backed up on your computer?

The player works, but I just can't play the songs with the laptop anymore.
I have the songs in my desktop computer, but not in the laptop. And I'm in Spain for 4 more weeks, so I can't access my computer. And I don't have really have any space left on my laptop (70gb) because of all the movies and porn I have... of course I could get rid off my 15gb of porn... but it's so difficult... Stoya, Eva Angelina, Lisa Ann,etc... A big decision...
