View Full Version : The Best of Rock/Hard-Rock/Metal Compilation CD Nomination Thread

Ok, upon a short convo with Dronepool I got this idea, how about we make a compilation CD of what we think would be the best songs of all time in the rock/hard-rock/metal (not black/death/screamo) and make a "virtual cd" with a Disc 1 and 2 and stuff.
I may in the future put all these tracks together somewhere and host it somewhere for download.
So that is around 30 songs total (say 16 or 17 per disc)
I think this would be kinda fun to do, give us something to debate about.
Here is how it will work, we can each nominate 5 songs (only 5 to keep things none cluttered) and then once we have around 100, we make a poll and vote on the 30 we want on the the CD's and the top 30 will get get listed and made into a virtual CD.
Sound good gents?
GO!

I fucking love Symphony X and anything Russell Allen does is good with me. But will a Allen/Lande song ever make it on a rock/metal compilation?

How can you not like Lord Abortion? It is a great song, in a cheesy, filthy and depraved way.
Cradle of Filth is terrible and not in the way they intended to be.

True, they haven't released a tasty album since Midian (2000), and Dani Filth is more interested in sucking off the MTV crowd these days. But, the Filth were pretty decent "back in the day"...in a cheesy way.

Midian is awesome. And I have to say that the last few albums sucked but Godspeed The Devils Thunder was a pretty good album (at least to me) and the new one is shaping up to be good. A lot better than most of the post-Midian stuff.
