We all know its going to another flop no one cares about. So the only thing I could think of to make it an actual big reveal would be.....
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0cSIiap8LLI?fs=1&hl=en_US&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0cSIiap8LLI?fs=1&hl=en_US&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

There has been too many attempts to have "mystery" reveals in TNA already. So, I don't think anything that they can do will turn heads.
This is the same type of fly-by-night booking that got WCW in the trouble that it did in 1999-2001. If something isn't working they stop it immedietally and then replace the person who writes it with somebody else. Spend all the money in production and promos to create a "Seven"-like character for Dustin Rhodes only for him to ditch the gimmick and then be his father's son again eliminating the years it took for him to get out of his father's shadow witn Goldust. Good going WCW! :)
TNA has for years always been about "who is the next guy we're gonna get from the WWE." In 2005 Christian left for the company and was the heavyweight champion and the star of the company. That all changed when they signed Kurt Angle and then Christian was put out to the pasture. They also brought in Rhino to feud with Christian because they were friends in WWE. When Kurt Angle came AJ Styles was also made into a joke character and forced to wear a crown and be a prince. The only difference is that AJ didn't leave after being pushed out of the main event
Back to adding WWE guys they then signed team 3D.Then they also went out and got Bobby Lashley who didn't last long because he knew that MMA was where the real money lied if it was talented enough to last in it. Then the ultimate in trying to act like WWE: Hulk Hogan. Hogan and everybody else from the old attitude era/2002-2005 WWE. RVD, Jeff hardy, Shannon Moore, Orlando Jordan, the Nasty Boys. They also then decided to move to Monday Nights, but that didnt work so they changed quickly back to Thursdays.
First they chose the wrong time to try to start on Mondays. It was during the Road to Freaking Wrestlemania. They also switched the start time of Impact a few times during that set up which was confusing as all hell. I really liked TNA on at 8pm so I could see the first hour and then watch Raw and flip back and forth at the 9-10 hour. I'm not going to be watching Impact on Thursday Nights when the Office and the great NBC comedies are on.
TNA has always been about what is coming next instead of planning on using what they have. Bischoff said he didn't like the term "homegrown" talent when referring to people like the TNA originals. He said that they were wrestlers not fruits or vegetables. Bischoff must not understand that homegrown talent is a sports term in good standing.
It means that people you create a cheaper to sign and keep than people you buy on the market. Heyman made a great point about the New York Yankees. When they were actually winning all of those World Series rings they were using pretty much homegrown talent (Posada, Jeter, Riveria.) They stopped winning (except for last year) when they tried to buy everybody instead of investing for the future.
Right now on the Yankees the best player on the team (in my opinion) is Robinson Cano. Homegrown talent!
The best players on the Red Sox before they got hurt were Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youklis: HOMEGROWN TALENT! Their best pitchers are Jon Lester and Clay Bucholtz, HOMEGROWN TALENT!
Grow new stars TNA don't buy them.

So true TNA is all about wasting money faster than they can earn it. There PPV buyrates are just fucking terrible and alls they can focus on is who can they bring in next and noone even cares when they bring them in. Like when Tommy Dreamer just sat in the bleachers. What did that lead to just another angle where they hold down there Homegrown talent.

Even though I don't appreciate mindless insult throwing, this is an interesting topic. Everyone seems to think that Bischoff and Hogan are 'they', which would seem to be the logical choice and anything other than that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. But who know's really. I really want to know what Bischoff's plan is overall for TNA.

TNA Wrestling officials are hopeful that the disclosure of “They” at Bound for Glory will hook a number of fans to purchase the pay-per-view event. The widespread assumption amongst the TNA locker room is that “They” will be revealed as a combination of Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and possibly Jeff Jarrett.
Though D’Angelo Dinero cut what was described as a ‘heelish promo’ on Thursday’s iMPACT!, many believe he, Sting and Kevin Nash will turn babyface once “They” is revealed.
Of course, nothing is confirmed and anything can change between now and TNA Bound for Glory.

I agree, but in my opinion, saying "they" changed their mind and aren't coming is FAR better than their shit fuck ass back up plan of Hogan, Bischoff, and Jarrett. I would love to see a legitimate surprise and threat, but I can't give any credibility to them. At this point, giving them the benefit of the doubt in that they ORIGINALLY had a surprise is highly unlikely considering the history of TNA.

I agree, and I'd like to hope that this isn't the case, but other than bringing in unknowns I can't see much of a payoff otherwise. "They" ends up being Hogan, Bischoff, and Jarrett. Sting and Nash become faces for being right all along about them being evil.. The storylines tie together, and everyone ends disappointed. Sounds like a Russo swerve to me. Really? You don't believe a company that builds 90% of former WWE signing as better than their own talent, moves a (very strong) PPV card to free TV at the behest of someone who was in the company for less than two weeks and allowed their show to be moved against their main opposition, completely bomb, and somehow be surprised, would let something like this be a huge fucking letdown?

It's a lose-lose on Hogan here. We hate if he is part of "They" as he ruins TNA, we hate if he isn't as he is too old for even TNA.

As horrible as it sounds, I was so fucking excited to hear the man was having back surgery thinking his in ring career would FINALLY be done. Instead, the son of a bitch is being rumored to be in some heel stable with Abyss. I'm convinced when his orange ass dies TNA will hire Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman to do their best Weekend at Bernie's schtick to keep Hogan in the fucking title hunt. Hulk, you were great once, but for the love of Jesus Christ's Latter Day Saints PLEASE call it quits.

When was this shit? This is the 1st I heard of it.
I think it was a thing where celebrities try out wrestling and the winner gets a championship or something. Pretty sure Rodman won, lol.

summer of 09 I think they were showing it up here in Canada
Rodman won the thing. Todd Bridges (or Chris Bridges?) turned out to be a good wrestler. He could do flips and shit. He was in the final.
Butterbean and Screech were in the top 4 alongside Bridges and Rodman

He'll probably make another profile and come right back as Destro 3.0 or something.
Adam Evans 2.0 :shifty:

I don't care about "They." Just to randomly suggest some guys, though -- I'd go with some past released talent from TNA, looking for revenge. Christopher Daniels, Homicide, Chris Harris, Sonjay Dutt, etc.

I wish it was Christopher Daniels back. If he can actually stay in gimmick during his matches it would be a nice fit to be with Abyss.

Aren't 'They' Nash, Sting & Dinero? I thought that was a given...
Although
If James Mitchell & Judas Mesias returned I wouldn't have any complaints...

Leave Hulk alone. Back in the 80's he started this gangsta shit..Is this the motherf'n thanks he gets?lol. He helped to revamp the industry twice. The man's in and out of surgery all the time now,so I doubt if it will be him at all. TNA's biggest surprise ever was kept completely in the dark(Kurt Angle) and no one knew. I'm gonna let it all play out because for all we know it could be this assclown:

I mean really? At this point anything short of Shane McMahon coming out with Paul Heyman would be a disappointment.
Is there any chance that TNA actually knows what they are doing here. The way this thing has been hyped, especially with Dixie's stupid tweets and all.
How pointless if they turn out to be anyone on the current roster. Is there any way this turns out well?

TNA Wrestling officials are hopeful that the disclosure of “They” at Bound for Glory will hook a number of fans to purchase the pay-per-view event. The widespread assumption amongst the TNA locker room is that “They” will be revealed as a combination of Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and possibly Jeff Jarrett.
Though D’Angelo Dinero cut what was described as a ‘heelish promo’ on Thursday’s iMPACT!, many believe he, Sting and Kevin Nash will turn babyface once “They” is revealed.
Of course, nothing is confirmed and anything can change between now and TNA Bound for Glory.
another let down by TNA .
Well I know for a FACT that this post is absolute Bullshit....Kevin Nash has been giving his walking papers by TNA....CONFIRMED....check Nash @ Twitter, he's stated he has 4 days left and that TNA did in FACT release him. Proof positive why you don't trust "wrestling journalists" cause they are just dirt sheet columnists who promote and spread half truths and bullshit lies.

Cause no wrestler ever used Twitter for Kayfabe?
Who are 'they'? Well best would be the holy trinity or some collection of Buddhist/Hindu Gods. Barring that, the closest to anything that wouldn't disappoint would be like The Rock and Stone Cold. (which isn't going to happen - in case you were wondering)
The Show Off

Didn't feel like making a whole thread on this but here's a prediction.
As I think about it I have this sinking feeling that Vince Russo (and others) will be "They." Call it a hunch but I have a feeling this is whats going to happen.
If it is Vince Russo no one will like it. Even though I never minded Vince Russo as an on air personality all his story lines go way over the top and just seem silly.
This thread will go insane if Vince Russo is part of "They." If people think TNA gets shit now-a-days for it's stupid booking wait until Vince Russo is back in front of the camera again...
Once again official The Show Off prediction: Vince Russo is "They."
I have a feeling that the Hogan surgery is a work, to an extent. The way they pushed it on Impact just screamed work to me.
I agree that Russo is a possibility. Bischoff clearly had Dixie sign something related to the angle on Impact. Probably ownership. Bischoff is a very high candidate of being in or possibly only being "They".
Another thing I've heard talked about and I could easily see in a Russo-written angle is Dixie being "They". Swerve central right there.
No matter who it is, it's going to be either disappointing or obvious.
IF it is Jarrett & Bisch, it'll be a perfectly formed storyline. Jarrett as the creator of TNA taking back his company in an underhand way by manipulating Abyss and the Dixie. It is honestly a good story.
But, people won't be happy unless it's some new person/group. Of course, this new person will most likely be an ex-WWE guy. Then the people that moaned about it possibily being Bisch/Jarrett will bemoan the fact that TNA have "brought in another WWE cast-off to put over their homegrown talent".
There really is no way TNA can turn this into a positive in the majority for Internet Wrestling fans.
Jarrett wouldn't be a problem. Bischoff, on the other hand...

Remember when the secret GM was gonna be Austin?
...Yeah, it's a little like that.
Yeah, I was ribbing there KK.
