Plus, a major announcement from Team 3D and “THEY” will be revealed!

I guess "They" are actually a bunch of no name students from Team 3D's training academy. What a swerve.

so is that basically TNA's version of nexus?

No, that was EV2.0. I guess this is more like TNA's version of Mike McGillicutty's short lived "Genesis" stable.

ah alright gotcha

What Would Kevin Do?
10-10-2010, 08:21 PM
Okay, very spotty, but that was definitely a very entertaining match between GenMe and the Guns. Not a huge fan of the huge move, kick out, huge move, kick out formula, but still a good match.

VSG

I sacrificed time (my stream's behind) for quality. The match finished 10 secs ago in my stream.

Hey Tazz, why don't you just take that board with nails in it that has been left right in front of you and give it to security to dispose of? You know, since it belongs to a guy saying he's going to murder your friend with it.

Very true. Every time there's a logical solution TNA goes in the opposite directions. There's a ranking system, so number #1 and #2 should just fight for the vacant belt? Nope, have a tournament with random unranked guys. Hold the tournament over two months even though there's only three rounds and then have one of the semi finals result in a draw AFTER restarting the match once since "there must be a winner". So that's the tournament fucked, might aswell just put everyone in a triple threat match with Angle's career on the line.

Would not be surprised at all if this match goes to a no contest.

Mr. Nerfect
10-10-2010, 10:57 PM
Alright, I can understand why TNA did this. They expect attention from having one of wrestling most iconic babyface figures turning face. They also are probably hoping for some attention (positive or negative) for putting their World Heavyweight Title on a guy facing criminal charges. They also probably figure that Kurt Angle is respectable enough to get cheered against Hardy, or if they are giving Angle some time off, that "ending Kurt Angle's career" will serve as a boost to heel Hardy.

But the rest of the show failed to support something like this. This is like WCW without the cruiserweights or the great mid-card.

Otherwise, I won't complain. Like I said, good wrestling, and really entertaining at times.

Mr. Nerfect
10-10-2010, 11:14 PM
I also agree with Xero. To be honest, I don't mind Kendrick helping EV2.0 win, as long as there is some sort of reprocussion for Kendrick -- an angle centred around him being targeted by Fortune. To be honest, it should have been Fortune going over quite dominantly, though, and a lot of those ECW guys being put out to pasture since they really can't go as well anymore.

Great tag match-check,great x-division match-Check,The Knockouts are still the best women in wrestling, even better now wiith Mickie,RVD and Abyss was very good. The rolling thunder through the table was sick.I knew someone would be left out to dry in that 6 man and it was the perfect person in Joe.Lethal Lockdown was cool.Kendrick on top of the cage was a nice touch. The triple threat was awesome. I thought about the Hardy swerve before, since I thought Angle would somehow lose.Anderson just went face, and Hardy would create the most buzz really.I get what they're doing and it makes sense. They have clear heels and faces now. Sting and the Pope are face again, and always were really. Nicely done. Joe may kill Hogan(Fingers crossed)who is better as a heel anyway.Hollywood was waaaay over brother. They did with Jeff what WWE won't with Cena. To all the haters TNA kindly brushes it's shoulders off,and I tip my hat to the best ppv I've seen anywhere in months. Bound For Glory gets 9 coors light bottles out of 10.

There seem to be a lot of posts stating that Jeff turning heel was good or the highlight of this PPV, and I want to know whyIt's never been done. He's always been a face. 2.Matt is on his way and they can both be heel. A heel Hardy heel team vs. The Guns would be awesome. 3. This wrestling isn't for kiddies. They have the freedom to show Jeff hardy as something different. JBL,Jericho,Orton,Kane and more have skyrocketed with heel turns. Why can't Jeff? Fortune wil be against everyone. They attacked Hogan,Nash,Sting,EV2.0,Jarrett etc. Dixie will reach out to them to get her comany back. I think EV2.0 is fine. It's mostly guys that were already on contract with them anyway.

I skipped most of the show but I did catch the 3on2, Lethal Lockdown, Monsters Ball, and WHC matches.

Foreshadowing Double J's heel turn was kinda meh, but I hate Soma Joe so watching him get donkey stomped by Sting, Kevin Nash, and Elijah Burke (Fuck you, I called him Elijah Burke) was nice.

Monster's Ball match was good for being an overdone hardcore match, but considering the story it works.

EV2.0 beating Fortune is absurd....period.

The main event was neat, and I knew it wasn't going to end clean but I'm kinda pissed they ruined a great match for the angle. Bischoff coming down with the chair and then Hogan hobbling down, and then the Jeff Hardy recreation of Bash At The Beach 1996 was ok. Jeff Jarrett could make sense if they use this as his way to "Take back" his company. Abyss being a henchman is EZ booking. I am interested to see where TNA goes from here, but its still more morbid curiosity than "Holy shit, I can't miss iMPACT!"

I'd love to see Hardy come out all clean cut and wearing a suit. Kinda like what Jericho did, take away his individuality. Otherwise, "They" make a very odd looking stable: Hogan, Bishcoff, Jarrett...and face-painted, tattoo-covered Jeff Hardy and "The <s>Retard</s> Monster" Abyss. Weird.

lol it's a good thing Hardy has a stable to back up his heel turn, he can't cut a heel promo for shit.

yeah they need to let easy-e and jarrett do all the talking, use hardy like a mute.

When the New Blood formed in WCW loads of people turned heel on the same night, not sure how many exactly. Also various stables have done it before in WCW such as The Four Horsemen, Revolution, Filthy Animals. Then theres Nexus forming when Heath Slater, Darren Young, Justin Gabriel, Daniel Bryan and Skip Sheffield were all faces during NXT.

I love that they probably think fans filling the ring with trash is proof that they've hit the jackpot.
"It was remeniscent of Bash at the Beach" Lol, yea, except for the fact that marks filling a ring with trash for a heel turn is good. These fans were probably almost all smart marks. They filled the ring with trash for the hell of it. I don't think there was any real heat there. The crowd filled the ring with trash on a regular basis in 2000 WCW.

It's just a conspiracy Fignuts. A bunch of internet fans with different tastes and varying backgrounds are all under a secret oath to coordinate their dislike for the booking of TNA.
It's not TNA's fault and has nothing to do with the honest to god comparison of the booking and quality of shows. It's just haters.

I'd also say that TNA has arguably the stronger roster, especially when it comes to potential "future of the industry" guys.

TNA has higher ratings too though. It's what the people want to see. The internet just creates fake numbers to hide the truth and protect their precious WWE

It's hard to say. It may just seem that way because they have so many talented guys we haven't seen get any semblance of a push or exposure.
In WWE they at least toy with the idea of pushing new stars, so we get a picture of whether they really could be the future or not.

For example, a guy like JoMo has gotten his feet wet. In TNA he'd just be in the X-Division, and everyone would say "this guy could be the next big thing."
I'm not sure if I agree TNA's roster is stronger in that sense. Just more underutilized. I'd say they're about equal. WWE's midcard and crop of future talents is very impressive these days.

Also, I would say that the majority of younger talent in WWE has better mic skills than TNA's younger talent. And no matter how much TNA tries to tell everyone that they are a wrestling show, they run the company like a sports entertainment show, just like wwe. They are just really bad at it.

Yeah I completely agree there.

That's been their problem since about 2005 or so. They're running the damn thing in Vince's style of Sports Entertainment, as much as they want to deny that. I've been saying for years that they need to drop that and find their own identity instead of relying on not only other peoples' visions but also blatantly relying on the past.

Fignuts

Should have gotten Heyman.

Something Lance Storm recently said, is that in the past angles supported and built to matches, whereas these days, matches support and build to storylines.

It is very true, but you need to be able to book a sports entertainment style well, for that to work.

Back when WWECW first started, and Heyman was the main creative mind behind it, it just felt really different and fresh, from smackdown and raw. I couldn't really put my finger on why, but that comment by lance storm was it. Heyman was booking stories around matches, instead of the other way around.

That's what TNA needs to do, and Heyman would have been the guy to do it.

Xero
10-12-2010, 11:49 PM
I don't think Heyman would have been the second coming that everyone believes, but it would have vastly improved the product. Not only building around matches (which they should be) but also long-term planning.

I've brought it up recently a lot, but it bares repeating. The fact that they let Dreamer, who was in the company for less than a month, completely take over a PPV slot, shows that they have no real long-term goals and are only looking for short-term success. That is the absolute most important thing Heyman would have brought with him, long-term planning.

They can do that with anyone with a brain and a laid out plan, but they likely won't.

Fignuts
10-12-2010, 11:52 PM
Oh yeah, wasn't implying that Heyman would be a messiah or anything. Just that the product wouldn't be such an incomprehensible clusterfuck anymore.

WWE is pretty shit too, so whatever. They just don't smell as bad.

The big difference is that WWE competently books what they are offering. It's not always roses, but they are in control of what they are doing and occasionaly it pays off.

WWE can be really shit, but they are confident and somewhat consistent in what they do. A lot of what they offer just isn't for certain fans, but they know damn well what they're doing.
They also have the ability to make things feel like they matter. Angles last, things are developed, and for whatever reason they can still provide stories and wrestlers that have a feel that they're worth a damn.
That could be because of their production values, the overall history the company has and the feel that comes with it, or the fact that they tour in large arenas on live TV, or a combination of all of that.

Either way, I really can't get into TNA close to what WWE can still do for me, even if WWE has it's major flaws (it does) and if it isn't all it used to be or could still be (it isn't.)
