Big Show (captain)
Kofi Kingston
Rey Mysterio
Edge
Alberto Del Rio
Jack Swagger
and...

...Tyler Reks

No bullshit. :o The guy goes from not being on TV in almost a year to being in a main event match.

Even worse, he squashes Kaval to do so. AND he uses the Burning Hammer.

he squashed the season 2 NXT winner? SHAME.

For what it's worth, Kaval gets his ass kicked for 5 minutes by Big Show beforehand. But still...

This is just like Eric Escobar winning a spot on Team SmackDown in his first ever match last year

Dunno, pretty sure I could squash the season 2 nxt winner too, if I used the burning hammer.

Eric Escobar? i forget everything about him. What did he do?

To be honest, this doesn't bother me so much. The company has been pretty high on Tyler Reks -- they gave him a run with the FCW Heavyweight Title. The only guy who has held that belt and not still with the company is, actually, the aforementioned Eric Escobar. Also, Reks never offended me in ECW. His gimmick was completely fucking stupid, but he could do some impressive stuff in the ring. The guy reminds me of Paul Burchall (only obviously not as good).

I think this helps Reks a lot more than it hurts Kaval. Also -- a fucking Burning Hammer?

Looks like Smackdown wins this year.

And even though the title of the PPV is "Bragging Rights" I highly doubt that the Bragging Rights match is going to be touted as the main event. The main events will be the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship matches, without question. They will completely overshadow the bragging rights match, just like the Cena/Orton Iron Man match did last year. Santino and Tyler Reks are in the match for Christ's sake, followed up by a bunch of guys the WWE doesn't know what to do with and The Miz.

The tag match didn't ME last year, don't know why it would this year.

Kind of looking forward to the bragging rights match.

I'm intrigued as to who this 7th member of the Raw team will be. Will it be a returning HHH? Will The Raw GM reveal themselves? Will they cost Edge the win? Will Big Show defect again? Will Rey and ADR be able to get along? Will Tamina cause Santino to get a surprise pinfall?

Lots of nice elements coming together on this.

Tyler Reks is in this match?

Why do this matches even consist of 7-people teams? I remember thinking this last year as well, but FFS why 7? It's such a random number. 5 would have made more sense.

Anybody who takes a Burning Hammer should get our support as well. That moves is just fucking nasty. I wonder if Reks used a real Burning Hammer or a Wrist Clinch Burning Hammer which is more of a DVD and a lot safer.

I've never even seen Tyler Reks wrestle. All I know about the guy is that allegedly he got kicked off a flight for saying he was a pilot and that the wing was broken just before take off. If that's true and he still has a job somebody at the top must love the guy.

Seems like a pretty weak team to me. I mean, Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger? Wow, that\'s terrible.

No idea who this Reks guy is, though. Is he from Japan?

Have you been living under a rock the past few years? He's this goofy looking white guy who debuted on ECW this past year with dreadlocks and a surfer gimmick. He's a decent ring worker from what I saw, but his gimmick is pure shit.

Willing to bet him and Santino get replaced next week.

Loving Smackdown's team sheerly for the fact that it looks like it could implode at any minute.

Rey/Alberto Del Rio and Edge/Swagger could all easily turn on each other so this really just leaves Show and Kofi. I don't see Reks being in this match for any reason other than to take the fall for his team if Raw wins.

Not really, both have been World champ this year. Makes there team somewhat credible, even if Reks doesnt.

I doubt it was an actual burning hammer. It was probably an inverted face buster. Like a backwards FU. Mosh used that when he was a singles wrestler.

Pretty much the same except Reks sits into it into it instead of going to his knees so it's more like a DDT than anything. I actually prefer Headbanger Mosh's version.

I'm officially getting behind Tyler Reks for the same reason I am behind Heath Slater. I've seen nothing horrible from him, and for some reason, the guy gets a lot of shit I don't think he deserves. Also, the reverse fireman's carry into a DDT is a pretty sick move.

I actually don't think Reks will take the fall for his team. Nor do I think that Marella will take it for RAW -- I think they're trying to get those guys over by association. Taking a fall will dampen their heat. My bet is that Swagger takes it for SmackDown! or that The Miz takes it for RAW (when a face turns on them because they can't stand them).

Just watched on YouTube. It's not a proper Burning Hammer :( but it's still cool looking.

Anyway, the segment was really random. Reks seems to have lost the surfer gimmick, but he still had dreadlocks. He also now has a beard and looks unique to say the least. The whole point of the match was that Kaval is too headstrong. Cole slammed him on commentary for essentially throwing away his Bragging Rights spot.

A proper Burning Hammer is way too dangerous for wwe anyway. Kobashi himself has only used it a handful of times.

Overall a pretty solid show. The opener with Rhodes and Mysterio was great, as was the Ziggler/Edge match.

Mr. Nerfect
10-16-2010, 11:39 PM
I have a feeling that Tyler Reks might lose his spot back to Kaval. I felt that Reks was a bit awkward on the mic. He was trying to sound too menacing, and the tone of his voice just came off goofy with the delivery. Reks should go for a "less is more" approach.

Tyler Reks is the jacked surfer guy. Tyler Black, now Seth Rollins, is a skinny guy. Both have long hair and a beard.

Mr. Nerfect
10-20-2010, 01:47 AM
I could also see Tyler Reks turning on Team SmackDown!, and talking about how they never gave him any opportunity. Someone is probably going to turn in the match so that the other team has the "excuse" for losing. Big Show turning wouldn't really make sense again. Edge turning would get him right back to being a heel on RAW -- not good. Kofi Kingston could turn, and that would be surprising. I could see The Miz turning to conserve energy to cash in his title shot. But yeah -- Reks turning would get him out of being "just another guy" and give him some development as a character.

Mr. Nerfect
10-20-2010, 01:48 AM
Reks needs a manager, too. The guy can technically talk, but for some reason it's really awkward. It's like his voice doesn't match his character or his body. Bring up Byron Saxton from FCW, as the man has apparently been doing some really great work.

I don't think Reks is going to do anything special in the match, surely they would of gave him a better showing in the battle royal and gave him some time on Smackdown if that was the case, to 'build him up' somewhat.

The Naitch
10-20-2010, 06:45 PM
yeah the only point for this is to further Kaval's "headstrong attitude"

I like what they're doing with this. Although I kinda wanted to see Kaval fight for team Smackdown!

They can even have him turn heel. As a viewer, I can easily "get annoyed" by Kaval's headstrong attitute, always trying to a model employee with the "I don't need anybody's help" type attitude. Get off your high horse bro
