Most of us like movies on these boards, but there are always some performances that we prefer over others. What are some of your favorites? I have many, but some of them are:

Kevin Spacey as Lester Burnham in American Beauty
Al Pacino as Tony Montana in Scarface
Leonardo DiCaprio as Cobb in Inception
Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden in Fight Club
Leonardo DiCaprio as William Costigan, Jr. in The Departed
Daniel Day-Lewis as Bill Cutting in Gangs of New York
Mickey Rourke as Randy The Ram Robinson in The Wrestler
Mel Gibson as William Wallace in Braveheart
Mel Gibson as Benjamin Martin in The Patriot
Jason Isaacs as Col. Tavington in The Patriot
Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs
Leonardo DiCaprio as Teddy Daniels/Andrew Laedis in Shutter Island
Edward Norton as Derek Vinyard in American History X
Chloe Moretz as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass
Chloe Moretz as Abby in Let Me In
Rachel McAdams as Regina George in Mean Girls
Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in The Godfather
Nicolas Cage as Castor Troy in Face/Off
Willem Dafoe as FBI Agent Paul Smecker in The Boondock Saints
Paul Giamatti as Miles in Sideways
Russel Crowe as Maximus in Gladiator
Al Pacino as John Milton in The Devil's Advocate
Al Pacino as Lt. Col. Frank Slade in Scent Of A Woman

There are several more, but these are some of my favorites. I know some people might scoff at Rachel McAdams or Chloe Moretz, but they did good jobs with these roles.

Peter Sellers playing 3 characters in Dr. Stangelove was pretty fantastic. I think he's the only person to be nominated for best actor for a comedy.

He must have been the first then. I remember reading something about it on the back of the DVD.
