What moments in sports history hit you the most.

Jimmy Vs speech at the Espys right before he died was surreal, and I cant see it to this day without tearing up.

Bur I think the moment that affected me the most in history was during the presentation of the 1998 Stanley Cup, when the Red Wings brought out Vladimir Konstantinov and set the cup in his lap. I remember watching that live and simply be moved to tears.

What moments have touched you on an emotional level?

And no one can say the end of Rudy.

Post videos if they exist.

<font color=goldenrod>Mike Piazza's home run against the Braves 10 days after 9/11

First sporting event/major public gathering in NY since the tragedy. The crowd was really quiet a good deal of the game, everybody was kind of paranoid and hesitant.

Then Piazza cracked one late in the game to give the Mets the lead and it lifted the crowd and there weren't many dry eyes in attendance. Even Chipper Jones said it was the only game in his career that he didn't mind losing.<font>

Couldn't find the actual movie clip. So, it's the audio with the Yankees going down in flames in 2007. So, yeah my favorite emotional sports memory is the final scene from Major League. Watching it always makes sends chills throughout my body. It's the best sports movie of all time and one of the greatest movie moments of all time.

Fan moment:
1) Red Sox during the 2004 ALCS and World Series
2) Patriots in 2002 Superbowl due to being the 2nd major championship game since 9/11 and how the team got rid of individual intros for a team intro. Gave off the feeling of sports players being united similar to how the US became united after 9/11.

Non-Fan moments
1) Farve's monster game after his father died since
2) Joe Sakic ignoring tradition and letting Ray Bourque hold the cup.
3) Jordan holding the NBA title the year his father was killed.
4) Some retirement and Hall of Fame speeches where they can't hold back their emotions since it showed how much of a passion they had for the game and their career.

I thought you were a Chicago guy..

Why all the Favre/Packers love??

I am a Chicago guy. Lived there my whole life (until I moved to Boston last October).

I'm also a born and raised Packer fan.

My grandfather was a Chicago Cardinals fan and when they moved to St. Louis in '59 (in part due to the Bears ownership), he hated the Bears with a passion. That's also the same year that Lombardi took over the Packers. So my dad was a Cards fan when he was a kid but the two of them became Packer fans.

I'm aware that I was rooting for the Bears on here during the SB a few years back against the Colts and that was pure bandwagon shit. My first pro jersey (outside of my own hockey jerseys) was a Lynn Dickey jersey.

And has for the Sakic moment you all are talking about - I have to agree:

It was pretty good, but people seem to forget that that wasn't the gold medal game, just the semifinal. The US had to play Finland to win the gold medal.

The call of Sid Bream's slide always gives me goosebumps. I wish I remembered the Braves winning the World Series better, because I was still a little too young to remember it much.

Watching Bobby Cox lose it at the press conference last week was tough. He never has been very emotional off the field (On the field, he holds the record!), so it was tough to see him like that. He had been with the Braves since I was born, which is still crazy for me to think about.

It's not a moment per se, but the 1998 Home Run Race was amazing. You got chills all over, goosebumps. It's easy now to, after knowing all we know now, to say "Ah, they're cheaters!", but no one can deny the importance that season had on baseball, and it was a great ride.

Here we see McGwire hitting #61, tying Roger Maris. Look at the crowd's reaction, I mean, everything. It's just awesome.
