So this comes out tomorrow, and I wasn't really stoked at all until I saw Giant Bomb's Quick Look, and read today that they were lowering the price from 1200 MSP to 800 MSP until early November.

I've never been a huge fan of platformers like this, but this one has a ton of personality. Probably going to pick it up, probably just so I can try and spend 2400 MSP this month to get the 800 point rebate MS is doing.

I can definitely see that. Once I started listening to their podcast, I started liking the Giant Bomb guys a lot more. They definitely run the site and their content differently since they are independent and can do whatever the hell they want.

But yeah, I mute them sometimes. Still always prefer their videos over any of the other gaming sites.

Anyway, loving the demo. I spent a lot of time trying to get one of the bandages, died like 3,000,000 times, gave up and beat the level. It was awesome watching all my little meat boys running around dying, until just the one hit the bottom.

It's amazing the variety in difficulty. The two levels after that one, I did in one or two lives.

The only thing is, I can't get it just yet because I'm saving my points for ZOMBIE BEARZ. I hope it's still 10 bucks next time a snag a points card, because :drool:

Yeah, after dying about 100 times on one dark world rapture level I had to put it down. Whole left side of my hand was aching.

Yet I will inevitably come back for more.

I just spent three hours to unlock The Kid. Fuck me I'm exhausted. Probably the hardest levels I've ever played in a platformer. When I finished the first one, I was beyond elated. Then the 2nd part loaded. Repeat when the third part loaded too. At least I have him for bandage collection now.

Yeah, just spent an hour finishing teh internets and playing the dark world boss, and then another hour getting the kid. But I completed all three. Real ending is only like 15 seconds longer than the first, but it's pretty funny.

5,278 deaths later and I'm only at 70% completion. Fuck me, this game might literally kill me before I get 100%. Never wanted to get all achievements or 100% a game before, but I really want to do it for this.

Also, good to see Boomer catching up, and things getting close on accomplishments. Was actually going to watch a movie, but then I saw Boomer was playing, and was all "Oh no you don't motherfucker!" Pretty sure whoever holds the top score in this on tpww, is official TPWW King of 2D Platformers.

I decided right from the get-go this would be my first game where I would get all the achievements. I'm at 65% completion at the moment, and I've already 100% the first three worlds (and the current Internets levels, which don't really matter I guess). Barely into Rapture...will probably just beat the game twice right near the end. I like being able to switch from easy to hard.

And The Kid was worth it. Got a ton of really easy bandages today thanks to him.

Just spent like 30 minutes on the last level of The End and still haven't beaten it. Biggest problem I've had in the game.

Haven't touched the dark worlds yet, but have an A+ on every level up to now. The game's hard, but it's a ridiculously fun hard. Never had this much fun in such a frustrating game.

Have to say that this is easily the best original IP I've played in years (probably since Shadow of the Colossus), and the best platformer since NSMB/NSMBWii.

Just going to start beating the game one level at a time until the very end. This S-Rank is going to be sweet as hell, just don't know how long its going to take me.

Got the Kid. Showed my one friend the level the other day. Mentioned to a different one today, so we showed it to him. Three of us took like 10 minute turns on first level. Played that for maybe 3 hours or so. They never landed once, I eventually completed it. We did same for 2nd level a bit, then they left as at that point were already together for like 15 hours that day. Beat it like 10 minutes after they left. Then level 3 was probably my least favorite, just annoying but thankfully didn't take as long as 1. Like should want to go to bed right now, but on such an adrenaline high from it all its ridiculous.

I felt the same damn way. I was seriously so amped after that level, I just wanted to keep playing because I knew everything else would feel easier and I needed to cool off.

Also played this game for probably six or seven hours yesterday. I don't do that with games most of the time; I usually play in small sessions. I believe I'm at 90% completion. I've got 100 bandages (out of 101), and just the Dark The End and the majority of the Cotton Alley to play.

After using its game parodying powers to transform Super Mario Bros. and Cooking Mama into vegetarian-friendly fare, PETA sets its eyes on the indie scene with Super Tofu Boy. Is he really better in bed than Super Meat Boy?

Back in the day recording artists were sure they had made it big when Weird Al made a parody of one of their songs. I'm not saying Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes of Team Meat need validation; Super Meat Boy currently carries an average score of 90 over at Metacritic. Still, parody is a form of high praise, even if the PETA parody does completely emasculate their game's hero.

Super Tofu Boy features ten levels of puzzle platforming in the same vein as Super Meat Boy, only with a twist. In Super Tofu Boy, Bandage Girl leaves Meat Boy for Tofu Boy, and Meat Boy kidnaps her in response. Here's the game's description of Meat Boy:

Meat Boy is a vengeful, bloody cube of rotting animal flesh. And he smells. After a short-lived fling with Bandage Girl (sympathy dates, really), he became enraged when he was dumped for the tasty and satisfying Tofu Boy. Once Bandage Girl slept with Tofu Boy and saw all that he had to offer, it was bye-bye beef, hello bean curd. Enraged by his loss and lack of ability to compete with the badass that is Tofu Boy, Meat Boy snapped and kidnapped Bandage Girl-because if he can't have her, no one will.

The game is rather short and littered with pro vegetarian and vegan propaganda such as "vegetarians make better lovers." It's also free, which might help some overlook said propaganda.

I reccomend just getting a wired 360 controller. It's cheap, and you already have a good feel for it.

And I applaud your decision in purchasing this game. Probably my favorite game to ever hit arcade. I am incredibly biased toward 2-d platformers though.

Just hope you like dying. A lot. I am up to 5000- deaths, and I'm pretty damn good at these types of games.

Never really got into the wired controller thing. Still have the one that came with my system, but all the rest are wired.

I do not sit 10 feet from the tv, nor do I leap around the room like spider monkey. And I keep the area pretty neat, so the wires never get tangled.

That said, hasney's link looks like the way to go, if you already own a wireless controller, which you likely do.

Super Meat Boy is the only game I've ever played that caused me to throw my controller across the room in disgust. It can be so infuriating, but I do love it.

I don't mind the difficulty on this game, but the glitches piss me off. IT's one thing to lose due to timing, and another entirely to lose because you jump through a wall or fall through the floor. Or to have the jump button not work at all. I thought that one was my PC, but I'm maxing out at like 20% system resources used, so I doubt it. And what's got me right now is I went back to snag Ogmo, and his wall jumps keep jumping straight up regardless of controller direction (or neutrality). Not all the time, but when you have to make five tiered wall-to-double jumps in a row, and it's happening once in most of those five, that's pretty goddamned big.

Oddly enough, before this I spent like 20 minutes in a Dark World without even giving a shit about all my deaths. I play as Ogmo and get wall-jump fucked, and now I feel rather burned. Though I've discovered I can sometimes tripel jump....

Though there are several well-documented glitches, I do sort of expect some tard to pop in and be all "WTF are you talking about. This game is perfect!"

I've not encountered any glitches, really, except the jump button not working one in a thousand times. Also, just today, I paused the game and the timer wasn't moving. Not sure if it would have registered as 0, though.

Though I've found levels that I can beat in ways I shouldn't be able to (I assume). I beat a level with a 30 second time limit in like 2 seconds once.

I know that if I think I'm fucked I just restart, there's a chance that I just don't notice them because I do it so fast and don't question it.

I mostly just can't comment on the frequency of them in the Ecks Blah version. I mean, you both could be lucky, or it could simply be a more stable release. The one glitch I know that seems to be both prevalent in the XBLA release and common enough it gets mentioned a lot, is an issue with boss stages not doing the right things...Doctor Fetus not chasing you, for example, making the stage unwinnable.

You'd think with the 60 PC updates so far, it'd be pretty well fixed by now.

Only downside to the PC version is I want some of the 360 bonus characters.

It's amazing how I can play one of these levels like 500 times in 20 minutes and keep telling myself "almost there...One more try..."

congrats man. how long did it take you? Remember my adreneline level was up high once I beat him. Me and 2 friends were fucking on the first level for few hours, passing controller back in forth. I finally beat it, and they left during second level at like 2:30am. Maybe 3:30 or 4AM finally beat it and wanted to go to bed but couldn't it was such a rush. Playing three 30 second levels for some 4 or so hours maybe, just don't get that these days. Amazing game.
