View Full Version : BOOK IT: Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker, WrestleMania 27
Now, we all know there's as much of a chance of this happening as there is Vince McMahon hiring Noid for the writing team, but if it actually were to happen, if they were going to book Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker at WrestleMania 27, how do you book it? What style of match do you have them put on? What would be the build? Who goes over? Would you even do it at all?
BOOK IT!

It would shatter everything that has come before it. It would have to be a very dramatic MMA match. Undertaker has to win, hopefully without interference. I'd build it up like this big sports connection between UFC and WWE, with press conferences with Dana, Vince, Taker and Brock. Hype the biggest cross promotion in WWE and UFC history. It could only do good for both companies. So when it comes to the match, it's not so much an emotional battle, just "the biggest match up of all time".
How do you know Vince McMahon hasn't ALREADY hired Noid?

I would rather do Lesnar vs. Cena. If it were Lesnar vs. Taker, then the mainstream would make a joke out of all the goofy, supernatural stuff that Undertaker always does.

Okay, let's think about this. Taker is buried alive now
Do you think he'll come back as Biker Taker (or a more updated modern non-deadman version). This would suit better if he did face Brock in a mainstream attraction type deal
thoughts?

The only reaction you would get from the mainstream, if this match were too happen, is "Brock is a pussy."
I wouldn't do it at all.

Not a huge fan of one-off appearances.... it alienates the entire locker room..... especially for guys like Lesnar who are seen to "have turned their back" on the business.... The only one-off I'd like to see at Mania is Taker versus The Rock.....

IF they were to do this, here's one way they could possibly go about...
-Have Lesnar be at ringside for the Royal Rumble match
-During said match Undertaker notices him and wonders what he is doing here
-When he's distracted, Taker gets tossed and blames Lesnar
-The two have a staredown
Dunno how the rest could go.

He probably just hired him to post absurd booking ideas on the internet as a means to de-legitimize internet fans and make his own programming look golden by comparison.

Use the Lion's Den to make it UFC-esque or use the ring for a PRIDE-esque or K-1-esque match.

I just don't see White ever going for this. I see him as having wayyy to much pride for his company to let one of his top fighters get beat in a fake match. Plus you know Taker is going to want to do MMA in the match and it would just be a mockery considering it's fake.
But who knows, maybe White can put his pride aside and realize that it's just entertainment. I don't think so though

Lesnar is announced as the newest member of Smackdown. After his first match the following week he walks past Taker who is mid-promo. Taker breaks kayfabe and asks "You wanna do it?" Brock keeps walking and Taker goes back to his promo. Repeat for a few weeks until Brock snaps and beats the shit out of Taker. Match on.
Lesnar ends the streak via DQ after Frank Mir interference.

Taker returns at Royal Rumble in the 29 spot and eliminates Kane. Taker is in the final 3, and then 30 enters. It's Brock.
Taker looks stunned, Brock comes down and tackles Undertaker. The two brawl over the ropes in what is meant to look like a shoot fight.
They brawl up the aisle and security seperates them. (The rest of the Rumble match goes on normally)
The next night on Raw it's explained what happened and that Brock is back. Vince can flat out introduce him and explain that he's back in WWE as part of a cross-promotion, just like they did with Tyson.
They can show footage of their UFC confrontation, and Brock can address that he's the baddest man in MMA and Undertaker came "into his yard" and provoked him, so he returned the favor at Royal Rumble.
Undertaker confronts him. Wrestlemania challenge, Vince books it, 2 months of hype with a few appearances by Brock.
They can do the typical Undertaker mindgames build, and run training vignettes and coverage on Brock's end as if it were a shoot fight. (Interviews about the match, his history with Undertaker, how he feels about the mind games, footage of him training)
That'd be a good way to really mix the MMA style of promotion with the more absurd promotion Undertaker does, like promos in the graveyard with Brock's name on a tombstone and things of that nature.
Huge match at Mania and Taker wins.

It should be noted that I'll be at the Royal Rumble, so there's a bit of wishful thinking booked in there with them both returning at the end of the Rumble match. I could mark out like a lunatic.
I also think it would be the best place to start the feud though.
