BJ Penn is a moron. He has all the talent in the world but he doesn't want to go to the next level to achieve true greatness. He had the Mirenovich brothers pardon the spelling who skyrocketed his conditioning and he was unstoppable against Diego when they fought, and handily dealt with Kenflo as well. He then decides to drop them before the first Franky fight because he "learnt what he needed" and looked tired in both Frankie fights.

Diego hasn't been with Jackson since '07, now we saw the old Nightmare back against Paulo Thiago. He hasn't looked that good since his fight with Karo Parisyan.

Do we think Greg Jackon could propel Diego to a win against Penn after his initial lobsided loss? Diego up until recently had essentially been training himself, now he has guidance and is training with the best fighters in the world.

No one wants to see BJ toy with Deigo for another 5 rounds, the first match wasn't all that good, I don't see a rematch going any differently.

I think Penn would gas in this one tho.

Since he's back to being fat and lazy.

He just that much better than Diego that it wouldn't matter. BJ's gas only seems to be a problem when fighting GSP or Matt Hughes, he didn't gas in the beatdown he put on Deigo the first time. A move up will be good for BJ, he wont have to cut as much weight now, I just think Franky striking was to quick and fast for BJ and he couldnt get the fight to the ground, neither of those would be a problem against Sanchez. Sanchez looked outclassed by Hathaway and only beat Thiago because of his poor conditioning.

And you're whole argument is based on the fact you think BJ would gas, which is to much of a variable, even given BJ's suspect cardio.

BJ would come out, crack Sanchez harder than he's been hit before and he'll look like a animal trapped in a cage again. The fight wasn't even a contest, or close in the slightest, it was complete and systematic domination by Penn.

But that was the best Penn we'll ever see I think, he was extremely motivated. He also gassed against edgar.

i don't kno if he'd be as motivated in a re-match, and now diego is back with greg jackson which is another variable.
