View Full Version : Do you have one absolutely favorite wrestler?
Posted in another thread about how I don't really have one absolutely favorite wrestler, and when I think about it, I really don't. I love guys for different reasons. Austin for his hellraising, Michaels for his in-ring work, Danielson for his pure wrestling ability, Punk for his mic work and the fact that he "gets it", Taker for his aura and overall character progression, Foley for his psychology, Lesnar for his dominance/bad ass-ness, Angle for his ability to pull off a true "total package". Among others, of course.
I'd find it hard to pick just ONE guy that I could point to and say "yeah, he's my absolute favorite of all time".
Do you have one absolutely favorite wrestler, either currently or all-time?

I stand corrected by The Jayman, TPWW's #1 Peep.
He's like the mayor of Peepington.

Christian.
I KNOW that there are wrestlers out there who are better than him (Angle, HBK, etc.), and that I would pick over him in a "Better Wrestler" poll.... but you ask me this question and I say Christian.
Why? I'm not so sure. It just is.

Chris Jericho.
I've never found myself disliking anything that's he done in the ring, said on the mic and even worn. Ever.
Though I did like Edge alot between WrestleMania 21 and The Bash 2009. His return as a face turned me off from him a bit and I didn't like him as much as I once did. But I still like him. I'm glad that his current run as a face is being done properly this time and it's not highly annoying like his feud with Jericho was.
But back on topic, I'd say Chris Jericho is my all time favourite wrestler.

Before Jericho it was Stone Cold and The Rock since their feud over the Intercontinetal title. Block WWF logo era, I liked a lot of wrestlers so hard to just pick one.
For tag teams, The Dudleys in ECW, APA in WWF/WWE, and the Bushwackers in late 1980s-early 1990s.

It's impossible to be able to say ONLY THIS GUY IS MY FAVORITE, almost impossible, because of all the factors that go into having a favorite wrestler. The closest choice to ALL TIME BEST/FAVORITE would no doubt be Shawn Michaels, as he could talk, wrestle, entertain, etc. He's probably the best ever.

Bret Hart is the man I got into wrestling for.
The Rock and Jericho are the men that I watched wrestling for for ten years.
The Miz is the reason I still watch today.
So one of those four I suppose. At the moment I have to say The Rock, but given 5 years it will likely be The Miz.

Mine is Chris Jericho. Even though I think Shawn Michaels is the greatest performer ever, and Stone Cold is the greatest superstar/champion ever, etc.
Jericho is just my favorite. I think it might be because of how well rounded I feel he is. He may not be the best ever in any one category but he's high on the list for all of them, which makes him a candidate for being the best all around. That and he's been my favorite for a very long time, so a lot of good nostalgia comes with it.
Shawn, Stone Cold, Foley, CM Punk, Taker and a handful of others round out my Top 5-10, but Jericho is definitely my alltime favorite by far.

For a very long time, the answer was Bret Hart for me. Now, I'd say it's Chris Jericho. Ever since he turned heel in WCW as cruiserweight, I've been hooked on pretty much everything he's done. Huge mark.

lol I love Kevin Nash even more now. He made a post on his twitter about how Vince needs to let him in the Rumble; if Nash wins, he wants Taker at Mania, and if he loses, he joins the kiss-my-ass club the following night on RAW. Gotta love it.
