Man, if they did this, or released at least Starrcade in the way they've released Mania, SummerSlam, etc I'd be all over it.
Also, I'd like to see a Best of War Games DVD.

What I wanna know is how in the world WWE will be able to bring out a 3 Disc Set on Goldberg. His career wasn't exactly LONG, FULL of highlights. I understand guys like Bret and HBK geting 3 Disc Sets, since they have been around for 15+ years, but Goldberg? Hmm.

Goldberg definitely had some good matches. 3 discs would probably be a stretch but 2 discs is very doable.

I guess they're primarily going to fill it with the documentary on him, clips of other people talking about him, etc. Like an A&E special, followed by some of his 'best matches'.

I wonder if they will do the Nitro seasons and episodes where Bischoff gave away the results of RAW when Raws were taped.
You could end up watching the Nitro dvd first and then be "spoiled" on what occurred on the same season for the RAW dvd.

I bet the Goldberg DVD will have a really good documentary for the first disc, and then they can easily fill up two more discs with all of his longer matches. Hopefully they'll include his awesome matches against DDP at Halloween Havoc, Sting on Nitro and Scott Steiner in the "Rage in the Cage".

I doubt they are doing it out of nostalgia. Having Goldberg with a 3-disc set isn't because they are comparing him with HBK or Bret. Its a $$$ thing, and it sounds like they are expecting it to do very well, so they will include as much as possible.

didn't they have a million of these done already?
I'm guessing it will have updated WrestleManias on it like 24-26
but the history of Wrestlemania has been shoved down our throats so much over the years, we're all familiar with all the WrestleManias.
I jacked this DVD which came with this WrestleMania 2000 book, showing 5 minute chapters of all the WrestleManias from 1985-2000. So if this new "Story of WrestleMania" DVD is to be done, I'm guessing it's just updated to include anything from WrestleMania XX to present (which should even include 27)

There's a guy on ioffer that runs Heat Shock Studios. He's got all the WCW PPV Anthologies on DVD. I am curious on the quality though.
Quality is usually really good. Ive bought 95-98 Nitro with all PPVs in between off there and RAW 97-99 with the PPVs and everything Ive gotten has always looked good. Im an avid wrestling video collector though, I have over 100 of 1990s VHS tapes from WCW and WWF.
been meaning to bung DVD news in here for a while but it appears to be too late to edit the title myself. I pay quite a bit of attention to the upcoming DVD's, sales/offers that are on, listings etc as I'm sure quite a few of you do so I figured a single thread with all the related stuff in would be useful. I'll harass some of the mods to change the title, use it or don't use it yadda yadda yadda
- There's a new all-encompassing Austin DVD that he and J.R have mentioned on Twitter coming
Why will the upcoming Stone Cold DVD be different than previous Austin DVDs? The two biggest reasons are that Steve himself will be hands on as a producer of this DVD and will be selecting the footage/content PLUS with social media as it is fans are flooding various sources with ideas and suggestions as to what they would like to see in this presentation. Social media wasn’t too advanced when the last Austin DVD was released. I know on Twitter (@JRsBBQ) that we’ve gotten a ton of suggestions from fans for this DVD. I’ve always believed that one should listen to their customers.
Talked with Austin earlier today and he’s amped about this project because he’s going to be able to be much more involved in it and to be able to address several matters that heretofore haven’t been. I’ve done a three hour interview already for this DVD and will hopefully be able to help in other ways if called upon.
- There's a second Ladder match DVD entitled 'The Ladder Match 2: Crash and Burn' on the way.
- Haven't seen this mentioned on here, coming in August/September:

OMG! The Top 50 Incidents in WWE History counts down the most outrageous moments in the history of WWE. What moments will make the cut, the top 10, and what is the greatest moment of all time? Is it the King of the Ring tournament where Austin 3:16 was born? Mick Foley’s devastating fall of the top of the Hell in a Cell cage? The Montreal Screwjob? The explosion that consumed Mr. McMahon’s limo? This three-disc set is the perfect release for fans that love to debate which moments where their favourites.

-The Bret/HBK "official details" (which will be the the first of a 'Greatest Rivalries' series as some had hoped)
For more than a decade, Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Shawn Michaels engaged in perhaps the most storied rivalry in the history of sports entertainment, from their teams (the Hart Foundation and the Rockers), through battles for the Intercontinental Championship and the richest prize in the business, the WWE Championship.
Their enmity spilled out of the ring, and led to the most infamous incident in the history of professional wrestling, The Montreal Screwjob. More than a decade later, the two men buried the hatchet as both are now WWE Hall of Famers.
Now, for the first time ever, the two sit down together and rehash their intertwined destinies in Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart. These new, never-before-aired, interviews will shed new light and insight on controversies fans have speculated about for years.

Blu-rays probably have a higher profit margin and since there's no point having a blu-ray of mainly SD content, they're clearly making some big moments "blu-ray exclusive" for no other reason than to make people get that.

yea, looks awesome. this will be the first WWE Bluray I'll get
- KOTR DVD on the way
Booker T revealed on his Twitter account (BookerT5x) earlier today that WWE is going ahead with a new King of the Ring DVD release, and that he’ll be hosting it.
A King of the Ring themed DVD was first revealed to be under consideration at WWE back in May, when it was included on an in depth survey sent out to fans.
Booker T left the following messages on Twitter:
Yes new project? I’m going to host the king of the ring DVD later this month, you heard from me first. Tell what u think.
Yes I’m going to do it as the greatest king of them all KING BOOKAAAA!!!!!!!!
Sounds like he begins filming footage for it this month. Since there’s a host, it’s not looking like this will be an Anthology set but rather a “Best of” compilation.
When we get more info we’ll let you know here on the site.
- The 4 or 5 disc "definitive" Austin set that's been heavily worked on recently is out in November
- This weeks Wild Wednesday for UK/Euro folk is WrestleMania 23
I'm all for KOTR. Really, I think it would be cool if they released a set that wasn't the PPVs themselves but every match for every tournament. Would probably be like 7+ disks or something but would be awesome.
probably a stretch but I'm wondering if they'll include any of the old untelevised one night tournament stuff from the late 80's/early 90's, never really seen any of that. Should be good though, top matches from the PPV/recent era, 'classic' ceremonies/speeches like Austin, Bret, Owen etc, maybe even some of the good later ones that took place on RAW ala Edge, Angle etc. King Book-ahhhhhhhhhhh hosting should be good also, most of the hosting jobs are pretty meh/unremarkable.

Not really too keen on either of those Hart/Michaels DVD covers. Surely WWE can do better than that?
That second one kind of reminds me of the From The Vault HBK DVD.
That reminds me, they claimed that was a part of a series and it never took off after that. They did DVDs under the same format, but not under the From The Vault series.

Really interested in the 'Bret's WCW Regrets' bit, but not in the Blu Ray. Hopefully it'll end up on Youtube.
He'll just say he wishes Eric Bischoff had used him correctly, that WCW never understood his "Hitman" character, that Vince is a genius because he played up the "Screwjob" and thought up the "Mr McMahon" character based on that night in Montreal, etc...
...same shit he's been saying for years.

Either of them worth getting?
The tag one absolutely is if you like having matches on DVD (I prefer documentary/feature disc, not very often I watch discs of matches) and there are little "recap"/intro bits for the teams. The family one isn't bad, price is good if you want it brand new but you can get it cheaper 2nd hand from eBay, CEX and so on though

I think Sheamus looks more out of place.
At the top, you have all the KotR winners from the 2000's, but on the bottom, you have all the winners from the 90's but also the winner from 2010. :-\
Personally, I think Owen should be in place of Sheamus, but still, it's a cool cover.
The DVD sounds interesting. :y:

I really love the best of WWE collections, and a lot of the legend's documentaries, they've been putting out in the last several years, and overall, most of them have been pretty solid.
“The first Triple H 3-Disc superstar DVD in 5 years! His last release, Triple H: The King of Kings (3/25/08) sold over 101k units in 8 weeks. Contains all-new interviews and matches never released on DVD.
Triple H continues to be one of the most popular superstars in WWE history, as observed in a recent survey where Triple H was second only to Stone Cold Steve Austin in levels of popularity (and higher than The Rock!).
Triple H’s mainstream popularity has been growing as a result of starring in two motion pictures in 2011, The Chaperone and Inside Out“.
Triple H continues to build upon his enduring legacy.
The 13-time world champion upped his game in 2011 first taking on Undertaker in a brutal No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania XXVII and then shocking the world when he relieved his father-in-law, Vince McMahon of power to take control of Raw as the new COO. Triple H continued on even with a superstar walkout forcing him out of his position, followed by memorable bouts with CM Punk and former friend Kevin Nash.
Now the Game looks back at his storied career, as this DVD collects more than two dozen of his greatest matches, along with all-new interviews where Triple H reflects on these touchstone moments throughout the years.

The Epic Adventure of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
We’re not kidding, that’s how it appears right now on WWE’s Home Video schedule which was updated a few hours ago.
It also appears “WWE” itself has been removed from the name. This may be a way of capturing a more mainstream audience than strictly wrestling fans. Either way, the DVD and Blu-ray is still being released by WWE under their catalog.
ooof
Is that a movie or a documentary DVD?
it's a wrestling DVD, dunno if it has a doc piece
From PWInsider:
WWE will be releasing "You Think You Know Me - The Edge Story" on DVD and Blu-Ray on 4/10.
The release will chronicle Edge's career and life in the business. A number of names from within WWE as well as names like Rhino, who broke in the business with him and worked the indy scene with Edge before they became well known names, were interviewed for the documentary portion of the release.
The DVD looks to be timed to coincide with WWE Studios' "Breaking The Rules", which stars Edge.

Following strong sales for the The Very Best of WCW Monday Nitro DVD last year, WWE has plans to release another video set highlighting the best of World Championship Wrestling later this year.
Amazon.com is currently taking pre-orders for a WCW Clash of the Champions DVD from WWE on May 22, 2012. Run time is listed at 540 minutes.
Clash of the Champions were a series of professional wrestling television specials aired by WCW from 1988 to 1997. The specials were supercards intended to feature pay-per-view caliber matches, similar to the World Wrestling Federation's Saturday Night's Main Event.

I just watched The AWA DVD, one of my favorites so far. Never really thought about how Vince Jr. raided that roster and built what we have now with it. Really great DVD, preferable to me than the WCCW which is so damn sad. Now we gotta see a Florida Championship Wrestling and most importantly a CWA so we can have all those big territories nailed out.

WWEDVDNews reports that WWE will be releasing a new ECW DVD this year as Shock Entertainment, the official WWE distributor for Australia, has the set on their list of DVD's scheduled to be released later this year.
"WWE: Biggest Matches in ECW History" looks to be released in Australia on June 6th, which means it would hit other locations worldwide around the same time. It's scheduled to be released as a three-disc DVD and a two-disc Blu-ray. Here's the synopsis from Shock:
"All new 3 DVD set, collecting The 25 greatest matches in ECW History! Extreme Championship Wrestling ran from 1992 to 2001, founded in Philadelphia. Their weekly TV show ‘Hardcore TV’, ran from 1993-2000, and they also ran 21 Pay-Per-View events from 1997-2001.
ECW was known for its hardcore and irreverent style, and it’s rowdy and raucous audiences. It launched Sports Entertainment legends such as Paul Heyman, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Taz, Terry Funk, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, Cactus Jack, Raven and more."

it starts off with elimination chamber 2011..then goes into his intro into wrestling, heading into ovw, then back to the road to wrestlemania, then more of him coming into the wwe, then more road to WM..so it bounces back and forth with his preparation for his match with cm punk last yr and his story how he got that point in his career with all the highs and lows in his career

That set looks epic for real.
According to Amazon, "WWE: Falls Count Anywhere Matches" will be released on DVD and Blu-ray June 16th in the United States. No more information is available yet but it looks to be a three-disc set.
i hope that epic encounter between Randy Savage and Crush from WrestleMania X will be on there.
Done with Orton's documentary. Orton was ridiculously honest.
As noted before, WWE will be releasing "WWE: Falls Count Anywhere Matches" via two-disc Blu-ray and three-disc DVD on June 26th in North America. The set will be hosted by Mick Foley. Courtesy of WWEDVDNews.com, here is the official synopsis:
"Sometimes, rivalries become so intense, they cannot be contained within the ring and cannot be contested by the usual rules. For matches that spill outside the ring, there are Falls Count Anywhere Matches.
Hosted by the Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley, this collection highlights more than 30 years of lawless bouts from WWE, NWA, WCW, and ECW, and features some of the most brutal in-ring performers of all time, including Sgt. Slaughter, Sting, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, the Road Warriors, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Triple H, The Rock, Kane, Big Show, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and more."
- WWEDVDNews.com also has new details on "WWE: The Biggest Matches in ECW History" which hits stores in June 5th in North America on Blu-ray and DVD. This set will be hosted by Joey Styles and features only original ECW content. Here is the synopsis:
"ECW started as a small, Philadelphia-based local wrestling company, but rapidly became a sensation that built a passionate fan base and influenced both WCW and WWE permanently.
Extreme Championship Wrestling was known for its intense matches, fan interaction, and introducing a number of future superstars to the general public, including Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Sandman, Taz, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, the Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam, Shane Douglas, and more.
Now for the first time in years, ECW returns to home entertainment with The Biggest Matches in ECW History. Hosted by the longtime unmistakable voice of ECW, Joey Styles, this home video release collects some of the most amazing and over-the-top matches in ECW history, some of which have never before been released on DVD."
