View Full Version : Wrestlemania card predictions

We usually have one of these every year.
No thread for it exists in search function or the first 3 pages, so here.
Give your ideal Wrestlemania 27 card, based on what you think can/will happen.
In other words, apply your own taste and opinion, but predict based on what you think is plausible or even likely.

Title for Title:
John Cena vs Randy Orton
-Cena heel turn
Undertaker vs Wade Barrett
The Miz vs HHH
Sheamus vs Goldberg
Edge vs Christian
United States Championship:
Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk
Intercontinental Championship:
John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler
Tag Team Titles:
Big Show and Rey Mysterio vs Kane and Alberto Del Rio
Dunno what to do with Sheamus though. Def has to be high profile. Plus Jericho should be in there somewhere.
Fuck this card. Someone fix it

Maybe they could get Goldberg to come back for a match in Atlanta and job to Sheamus. That'd be a nice fit.
Undertaker would have been my pick for Sheamus' match, if not for Barrett who I think deserves the nod.
Under my scenario that there is a title for title match, that obviously leaves all 3 out of a world title match, which would otherwise be likely.

I'm not sure if Barrett vs Undertaker is really ahead of anything, or a fantasy pick.
He helped bury him at Buried Alive, and is as likely as anyone if they don't pull the trigger on the Cena match.
Last I heard, it was pretty much consensus that Taker would be facing either Barrett or Sheamus.

<font color=goldenrod>Can't see them doing MITB again if the MITB PPV stays.
Therefore it'd be a safe bet that they'll do 4-way, 5-way, or 6-way matches for the US and IC Titles. For the non-main eventers who don't get steady merch sales the WM payoff equates to as much as 10% of their annual income, so they always try to get as many people on the card as possible.</font>

This is true. I've always wondered, does the dark match actually count towards being on the card?
It's usually a big battle royal, or sometimes a tag match.
I'd think it would, and they'd get their payoff.

The reason I don't see Sheamus and Barrett having a match is because:
A) I don't envision either turning face in the next few months.
B) They're both on similar pushes, and pitting them against eachother would be self-defeating. It seems early to pit these two against eachother in a situation where one would have to take a backseat to the other.
They're both examples of guys WWE would probably want to have getting their feet wet with veterans and/or title matches.

THE STREAK vs THE SWAG
JACK SWAGGER vs THE UNDERTAKER

WWE Championship
John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton
-After losing the WWE Title at Survivor Series, thanks to John Cena's officiating, Orton wins the 2011 Royal Rumble and cements his place in the headlining match at WrestleMania. Cena maintains that he "did what he had to do," and captures the WWE Title in the RAW Elimination Chamber at the February PPV of the same name, unseating The Miz, who cashed in his title shot against Wade Barrett to win the WWE Title.
World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Christian
-Captain Charisma returns to SmackDown!, and on his first night stands tall over his former best friend and tag team partner after attacking him from behind with a steel chair. Christian is sick of missing his turn. Edge wants to face Christian at WrestleMania, but Christian has to earn his title shot. He does so winning a SmackDown! Elimination Chamber, perhaps even with some unlikely assist from Edge, allowing Edge to get the grudge match he wants at WrestleMania.
19-0 or 18-1
The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett
-The leader of the Nexus wins the WWE Championship at Survivor Series, but soon finds himself the victim of a Miz blitz. After failing to recapture his title, Barrett shrugs it off, because he reveals his masterplan: the reason Nexus attacked The Undertaker at Bragging Rights was because Barrett knew there was no chance that Taker would be missing WrestleMania this year, and he wants to do something even greater than capturing the WWE Championship, if such a thing imaginable. Wade Barrett wants to pin The Undertaker at his event...WrestleMania.
Hey, It's Revenge Time!
Sheamus vs. Triple H
-After almost having his career ended by Sheamus, Triple H returns, and Sheamus looks like he's seen a ghost. The Game wants to dismantle Sheamus on the biggest stage possible. Stephanie McMahon warns her husband about getting back in the ring with Sheamus, since now he has daughters to provide for. Triple H cannot let Sheamus get the last laugh in this rivalry between them, however.
They Still Don't Like Each Other
The Miz vs. John Morrison
-I expect these two to cross paths again sometime in the near future. The Miz will likely rub his success as a former WWE Champion in John Morrison's face, with Morrison looking to use The Miz as a springboard to bigger and better things for himself.
WWE United States Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. CM Punk
-An amazing United States Title reign earns the respect and interest of CM Punk, who offers Bryan a place in a new Straight Edge Society. Bryan respectfully declines Punk's offer. Punk is disappointed, but instead offers Bryan a challenge -- CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan for the United States Title at Bryan's first WrestleMania. Bryan agrees to this, and the match between the two men addicted to competition is set.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Big Show vs. Kane
-The relationship between Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler becomes tumultuous to the point where they break up. Ziggler is ready to focus on being his own man, but doesn't realise the wrath of a woman scorned. Big Show and Kane are given opportunities for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania XXVII (almost reminiscent of them both challenging Raven for the Hardcore Title at WrestleMania X-7, but we won't remember that). Can Dolph Ziggler survive The Giant and The Monster, and walk out of Atlanta still the Intercontinental Champion?
WWE Tag Team Championship
Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater vs. Rey Mysterio & Kaval
-The team of Mysterio & Kaval forms out of respect between the two men, knowing how hard it is to constantly have to fight bigger opponents. As partners, they work together quite effectively, and manage to become quite the impending threat to the WWE Tag Team Title reign of Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater.
Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Divas Championship
Natalya (c) vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool vs. Layla
-The destruction of The Hart Dynasty sets Natalya back a couple of months in winning the WWE Divas Title, but when she gets her mind on track (with some help from uncle Bret Hart), Natalya manages to win her first championship in the WWE. Beth Phoenix returns, and respectfully challenges Natalya to a match at WrestleMania for the title. Michelle McCool & Layla have something to say about that, though, and are also inserted into the match. Only one girl can officially walk out the WWE Divas Champion, however.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. "Dashing" Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Evan Bourne vs. Ezekiel Jackson vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston vs. R-Truth vs. Ted DiBiase vs. William Regal
-The returning winner of Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger, looks to be a favourite heading in, but William Regal swears his career on winning the match. Kofi Kingston's past involvement in Money in the Bank has always been interesting, and you have the added tension of former Legacy cohorts competing in the match against each other. Alberto Del Rio and Ezekiel Jackson are entering their first MITB match, and are the darkhorse picks to snatch victory.
Special Guest Referee: Bret Hart
David Hart Smith vs. Tyson Kidd
-The tension between these two best friends grows and grows over the weeks, with Bret Hart himself getting involved, and wanting to see nothing more than The Hart Dynasty to get back together and re-focus on winning the WWE Tag Team Championship. One year after The Hart Family came together to defeat Vince McMahon at WrestleMania XXVI, the family explodes at WrestleMania XXVII.

I really like that card Noid. The only thing is I don't see them having MITB still. I could be wrong.
I also feel like Miz should be involved in a bigger program.
I'd probably take your card, delete the MITB, add Del Rio to the IC title match.
Then I'd move Miz to face HHH, and bump Sheamus to a match with Goldberg.
Mr. Nerfect
11-19-2010, 03:17 AM
They're all possibilities. I don't think Money in the Bank performer too well, so I could see them scrapping that PPV concept altogether. MITB is just a great way to get guys on the card, although I feel that often the match comes off "weak" (as the one I have suggested would seem to be, as Jack Swagger is the only former World Champion in there).
In my dream world, The Miz would be in a feud with The Rock heading into WrestleMania next year. Sadly, that won't happen.
Jeritron
11-19-2010, 03:47 AM
I'm not happy about The Hart Dynasty splitting already, but if it leads to a heated match at Mania with Bret as a ref that would be pretty cool.
I'd like them to get back together though. Maybe they could put their frustrations to rest and re-gain respect and partnership after a hard fought contest. It's the type of match that could start as a grudge match, and end with an embrace.
Jeritron
11-19-2010, 03:55 AM
What would you do with Jericho, should he be on the card, Noid?
Perhaps if he isn't able to return for an angle/match at Wrestlemania, they can get him to make his actual return appearance as a suprise at the event.
Maybe he could help Christian finally beat Edge for the big one.

i think this ridiculous cena/nexus angle has done a lot to lower my expectations for the even. it's been beaten to death for a while now, and they'll probably continue to drag it out til wrestlemania.
really not many interesting feuds going on across the board.

I'm willing to bet that they're gonna do Randy Orton vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship. They've fought countless times before, but this time around Orton is becoming that Stone-like babyface on RAW. Face vs. face, they haven't done that yet. Either Cena or Orton is winning the Royal Rumble this year. Shades of The Rock vs. Austin WM X7
Wade Barrett vs. The Undertaker
CM Punk vs. (whoever the guy that "wronged him") I betting that it's Edge
The Miz will lose the strap by then. He's like Kurt Angle in late 2000-early 2001 in the fact that he kept the belt warm for a while, only to drop it back just in time for the big boys.

I'm actually the opposite, I'm excited about this.
Wrestlemania 27 will HOPEFULLY consist of mostly 'young' or 'new' guys. It'll be a great change of pace and style and will be interesting to see what they can pull off.
Main event is up in the air, but I could see Orton/Cena.
SmackDown! side, I can see Del Rio going in with the title as the secondary main event. Probably a triple threat or four way.
I see Jericho returning sometime between now and the Chamber, so at this point I'll say he'll have a match, but I don't know who they'd put him with. Maybe Rey again or something.
Sheamus/Triple H will definitely be on the card.
I see Punk/Danielson having a pretty amazing match for the US title.
If Taker's ready, I think we'll get either Taker/Barrett or Taker/Cena. Depends on how they resolve the burial angle. Either Cena was behind it this whole time or they'll go with Barrett. The latter of which I think is more likely.
If they do MITB, I want to see Dolph take the case.
Miz/Morrison I think is very likely if they're planning on giving Morrison a push, which looks like the case at this point. Could see Morrison eliminating Miz from the Chamber leading to the match. As said, Miz isn't going into Mania with the title.
I do see a problem with it being a majority of younger guys. Not for me, because I'd much rather see it, but it'll be harder to sell it to fans without the likes of Michaels and Taker.
But for me, I see great potential in this Mania. It could very well be one of the strongest Manias ever in terms of in-ring action.
Rammsteinmad
12-17-2010, 09:04 AM
Wrestlemania is Wrestlemania. Even if you took all the 'old' guys off the card (Triple H, Undertaker, Edge etc) it'll still be a huge thing and everyone will watch it simply because it's Wrestlemania.
Rammsteinmad
12-17-2010, 09:04 AM
In my opinion, that is.
I don't know how that'll stand up. Mania took a hit last year and they had one of the most anticipated rematches on that card ever. Though the undercard was weak and they had to compete with a UFC PPV.
They won't have problems drawing a crowd, but for the PPV buyers it could be a problem.
I think they really need a big 'special appearance' ie Goldberg or Lesnar, because without it its going to look really weak. Orton v Cena has been done on numerous 'B PPVs' and even on Raw, so its hardly a Wrestlemania main event match up.
I think they really need to do the Cena v Taker match this time, Taker is really banged up so it may be the last time they can book it. Its one of the few 'dream matches' left in wrestling.
Rammsteinmad
12-17-2010, 10:47 AM
And even that has already happened multiple times. :p
But seriously, wasn't there an incident a year ago (or near enough), when Undertaker Tombstoned Cena for no reason, and nothing ever came out of that?
Just remembered it tbh.
Taker vs Cena is really the only truly Mania-worthy match WWE has left. Everything else either is no where near that level or has been done to death, thus making it no where near that level. Blowing shit on TV and the amount of PPVs they run now really keeps the potential for fresh matches at a minimum. Even Taker/Cena has been done, but that was when Cena was midcard and it will be a completely different feel this time around. Much like Taker/Michaels (in feel).
And yeah, Taker Tombstoned Cena last year at the Garden RAW. There was no point to it other than to send the New York fans home happy.

The Miz will lose the strap by then. He's like Kurt Angle in late 2000-early 2001 in the fact that he kept the belt warm for a while, only to drop it back just in time for the big boys.
I like the Cena-Orton idea you said. I think CM Punk is facing Danielson though. The Miz is no Kurt Angle that's for sure but yeah he probably holds it for a couple of months losing to either Cena or Orton and then at Mania if they want to turn Cena heel they can somehow do it there.

Here's my WM Card as of right now,if i was magically the booker:
WWE Championship-Barrett vs. Orton vs. Miz
World Championship-Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio
U.S. Title-C.M.Punk vs Daniel Bryan
Undertaker vs. Cena
HHH vs. Sheamus
MITB-Morrison,Mcintyre,Kaval,Ziggler,Swagger,Zeke Jackson,Evan Bourne,R-truth
Divas title-Who cares?
Mysterio vs. Kane
I.C. Title Cody Rhodes vs.Kofi Kingston
Tag titles-Nexus vs.Nexus Slater/Gabriel vs. Husky/Mcgillicutty w/Otunga
If the divas title is Beth Phoenix vs. Natalya I will care they'll actually put effort into a women's match, the last time they did that was WM22. The title matches (WWE and World) look bad on paper but Cena vs. Taker would be the main event anyway.

Orton v Cena has been done on numerous 'B PPVs' and even on Raw, so its hardly a Wrestlemania main event match up.
I dunno, they're building up Orton as the #1 babyface on RAW alongside Cena, so these two facing off will be totally different than their previous encounters. It has the potential to be an epic match, similar to Austin/Rock and Hogan/Warrior

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton(Punk screws Orton out of the title at Elimination Chamber)

do you have any idea how ridiculous that card is? you have three matches that are face vs. face, two that are heel vs. heel, two top stars sheamus and del rio in the MITB match, and the most over heel in the company wade barrett lowered to taking place in a 6 man tag match.
Scottness89
12-20-2010, 01:17 AM
well first off, the only face vs. face match is Edge vs. Mysterio, although Edge has been rumored to turn heel once again.
Evan Bourne returns and screws Bryan out of a MITB qualifying match, citing a new "mean streak" gimmick.
I will admitm I was a little confused as to what I wanted for Barrett. I am tired of Barrett/Cena and Barrett/Orton...and due to billing Taker against Cenn and HHH against Miz, I really had no where else to go with him.
Sheamus has proven he can handle any type of match. He could still make his presence felt with a few big ladder spots in this match. Del Rio would win, solidifying his "Top star" status.

My updated dream card for WrestleMania XXVII:
WWE Championship/WWE United States Championship
John Cena (c) vs. Daniel Bryan (c)
-Daniel Bryan shocks us all by winning the 2011 Royal Rumble from somewhere in the middle. He gets a lot of shit from The Miz on RAW about it -- saying that Daniel Bryan is not WrestleMania material. Perhaps Vince McMahon can even return to try and get a more "marketable" face into the main event. But Bryan perseveres and receives his title shot. Meanwhile, The Miz is unseated at Elimination Chamber by John Cena, in a Chamber also featuring Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Triple H and John Morrison.
Bryan and Cena seem to respect each other, but Cena brings up the original Nexus attack and how Bryan only has his job back because Cena brought back Bryan for SummerSlam. Bryan apologies for kicking Cena in the head, but says he does not apologise for telling Cena he was better than him, because that was not a lie. We get title vs. title, with two opposing symbols in wrestling clashing in the main event. Perhaps Shawn Michaels could even show up on WWE TV again, "coaching" Daniel Bryan? I'd love for Cena to show a slightly more arrogant edge heading into this match, talking shit about Michaels: "Yeah, people say HBK is the best ever; but I beat him at WrestleMania 23 like four years ago."
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian
I've decided this should be the SmackDown! main event this year. Edge is the World Heavyweight Champion, Alberto Del Rio wants to be a champion, and Christian wants to hurt Del Rio. The history between Edge and Christian needs to re-iterating, and would only add to the intensity of this match. It has the potential to be quite a personal match, as opposed to some of the other Triple Threats we have seen at Mania for the big gold belt over the years. It's kind of sad how many times the title has been defended in three-ways (this would be the fourth in the title's nine year existence), but this Triple Threat would make sense to me.
Streak is on the Line
The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett
The Nexus leader reveals that the reason he ordered Nexus to bury The Undertaker was because he knew it would get the Dead Man's attention. Barrett may not have won the WWE Title like he said he would, but he plans to do something no other man has done in twenty years -- beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Whatever the new cage gimmick the writers come up with
Triple H vs. Sheamus
These two have got enough personal animosity between them that a feud could easily be dragged out to a WrestleMania blow-off. It'll be a year-long story of sorts, with Triple H trying to do a Rocky Balboa and giving it one more shot against the guy who kicked him in the head one too many times. What more perfect way than to debut the new gimmick that has been talked about as a replacement for Hell in a Cell (which the WWE ran into the ground)? Although a regular Hell in a Cell Match (can't believe I'm saying that) would fit this feud, too.
Grudge Match
Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho
Yeah, Orton punted Jericho in the head, and I don't think Jericho would be too happy about it. I have a feeling we'll be getting Cena vs. Orton, but Orton vs. Jericho would probably be the better match, and would have the "special appeal" of Jericho being back.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Big Show
I really want to see this match, just because Ziggler works well with bigger guys. Vickie Guerrero and Ziggler seem to have relationship troubles a lot, but I'd like to see them stay together up until a good way into the Road to WrestleMania, where Dolph or Vickie does something that upsets the other -- leading to a split. But Vickie, being the vengeful woman that she is, signs the world's largest athlete to be Ziggler's WrestleMania opponent. While the fans would probably back Ziggler if they two split, and Show is a face, I think this match could have a Big Show/John Cena dynamic from WrestleMania XX -- where I think Cena was either technically still a heel, or was at least cheating to win matches.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
CM Punk vs. "Dashing" Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. John Morrison vs. Kane vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Ted DiBiase vs. The Miz
You have five RAW guys, five SmackDown! guys -- all of them with their own stories heading into the match. CM Punk has won more Money in the Bank briefcases than anyone else -- and has teamed with Kofi Kingston in the past. Cody Rhodes has tag team history with both Drew McIntyre and Ted DiBiase. Drew McIntyre is Mr. McMahon's chosen one, and if McMahon is back on TV by this point, it could be a boost for McIntyre's character. Evan Bourne would be fresh off returning from an injury. Jack Swagger won the ten-man Mania MITB in 2010. John Morrison won a Ladder Match at TLC to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Title. Kane won the SmackDown! Money in the Bank at the PPV with the same name. Kofi Kingston is always a highlight of MITB. Ted DiBiase has the history with Cody Rhodes that we mentioned. The Miz, of course, won the RAW Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed it in successfully to become the former WWE Champion. It'd be a hard match to call.
WWE Tag Team Championship
Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater (c) vs. Rey Mysterio & R-Truth
There's no real reason for this match, other than to get the WWE Tag Team Titles on the PPV, and perhaps provide a good opener. Rey needs a place on the card, and all you need to do is have him develop problems with Nexus when they win the titles back on SmackDown!. R-Truth has taken up the role of being anti-Nexus. The two join forces to form a RAW & SmackDown! unit against Gabriel & Slater. Rey-Truth would at least be pretty over contenders for the titles, and it can play off R-Truth failing to win the belts from Show-Miz the year previous.
Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Divas Championship
Natalya (c) vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool vs. Layla
Basically, Natalya keeps going strong as Divas Champion, and she is set on a collision course with a woman she respects in Beth Phoenix. But meanwhile, McCool and Layla are having their issues, and both want to be Divas Champion again. So Theodore Long just throws these ladies in the ring together to see who comes out champion.
Special Guest Referee: Bret Hart
David Hart Smith vs. Tyson Kidd
It seems unlikely that these two would make the PPV, but I think they should. Both guys have got a very bright future with the WWE, and having Bret Hart referee gives it a "special" feel. It also plays against what happened the year previous at WrestleMania -- with The Hart Dynasty turning face to help out Bret. A year later and Bret has to keep his family from destroying each other.

What do you guys want to see as the WM27 card? I will write how I feel it should turn out but of course.
WWE Championship
The Miz (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. John Morrison- Jomo finally wins the title
World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Christian
John Cena vs. CM Punk-this should be the match if he isn't facing Taker
Divas Title
Natalya (c) vs. Beth Phoenix-this will get screwed up and become a ten diva tag or a fatal four way with Lay-Cool.
HHH vs. Sheamus
Wade Barrett vs. David Otunga-Nexus collides with all Nexus members as lumberjacks. I don't think Taker will be at Mania in a wrestling capactiy but if he is then he should wrestle either Barrett or Kane as that makes sense.
MITB-don't know who will be in it
Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler- US vs. IC Title Unification Match
WCW Battle Royal-WCW superstars battle in a 27 man battle royal
Tag Team Titles-Santino and Kozlov vs. The Usos vs. Gabriel/Slater-or some other team from the Nexus.
That is just how I feel it should turn out it won't though but it makes the most sense feuds wise.

If this ends up being the WrestleMania card.... I.....I just dont know....
John Morrison is good but he does not deserve to win the title at WM over Orton and Miz.
Edge vs. Christian... why? How does that tie in to the current story lines at all? and why would Christian go jump from not wrestling to WM headliner?
John Cena vs. CMPunk... well duh we all know this is going to happen and be a hell of a match...if Cena wins we RIOT!!!!
WWE Divas wrestling sucks
HHH vs. Sheamus... I have been predicting this since Sheamus took HHH out King vs. King
I could defiantly see Barrett losing control of the Nexus to a point where they fight for leadership or something like that.... I think the match would be lame... unless it was in a steel cage or a street fight.
MITB... I thought they were no longer going to do MITB at WM.... seeing as how they have an entire PPV dedicated to it.....
Daniel Brian vs. Dolf Ziggler... This would be the show stealer right here! No doubt.
WCW Battle Royal would be interesting to see who all they could get to work for a night.
Tag Team Titles will be the opener because its Santino and he gets the crowd going.
So I guess overall it would be a 6/10 PPV but on a WM scale that is horrible.

Truthfully, I don't think that's actually a bad WrestleMania card, and I could see it ending up like that. Logically, the Money in the Bank would probably feature the following guys:
* Alberto Del Rio
* Big Show
* Cody Rhodes
* Drew McIntyre
* Evan Bourne (set to return around Mania time, isn't he?)
* Kane
* Kofi Kingston
* R-Truth
* Rey Mysterio
* Ted DiBiase
The top ten guys not included on your card, but look how many of them are actually from SmackDown! -- 7 of those 10. I can't see that being the case.
The changes I could see being made:
* I don't think The Undertaker will sit out WrestleMania. Granted, he might not have a choice due to his injury, but I think we'll see him phone it in rather than miss the show. It's very likely he'll go up against Wade Barrett. Alternatively, I could see Taker vs. Kane at Mania III, with Paul Bearer returning alongside Taker.
* I just don't see The Usos making the WrestleMania card. I think it's more likely another team will get the shot against Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (and there will probably be another more serious face team in there). The thing is, the WWE haven't even created a random heel team to face Marella & Kozlov, so maybe it will just be two Nexus guys (Slater & Gabriel), with a random face team thrown in for good measure? Hell, Kofi Kingston & Big Show are worth suggesting, since the WWE has loved pairing them up recently.
* Michelle McCool is banging The Undertaker, there is no way she is not appearing at WrestleMania. I think we get Natalya vs. Beth Phoenix at Elimination Chamber, and then we'll see McCool and Layla get involved in their title program in time for WrestleMania.
The rest of the card is actually what I could see the WWE doing, in all honesty. The only thing is, you have a lot of multi-man matches. But whatever.

Thank you for responding to my post and not dismissing it right away. I put the Usos on the card simply because of the Tamina factor. She is with Santino now, but she arrived with the Usos so a feud stemming from that could happen. Taker would realistically wrestle Wade Barrett or Kane. I also am in the minority and like women's wrestling and I haven't seen a good WM women's match since WM 22 so I would like them for once to focus on that this year and Beth vs. Natalya is the perfect match-up both fantastic wrestlers and they measure up in the strenght department. That match is going to get ruined though I can feel it. Otherwise, I just feel that's the most realistic card.

Exactly...he was Champion, so he'll want a rematch...they could have him insert himself into the equation, since he already is a heel, and an opportunist.

I just remembered they're starting a Cena/Punk angle, so they may run it until WM27, which could take Cena out of the Title picture, unless one of them won the title before then.
Also, I don't know if WWE would let a young "new star" main event WrestleMania...Sheamus had a great 2009, beat Cena for the Title, is a favorite of Triple H and all that, and not even he Main Evented WrestleMania this year. So I don't know if WWE would give a Main Event spot to Miz. Seems like they are reluctant to do so.

If they are wanting to prepare for the future they better put a rising star in the main event for a change. I've grown very weary of HHH/Cena/Orton/Batista/Edge in the main event at WM.
I , for one, am very hopeful to see Mr. Mizanin in the main event and really feel that HHH vs Miz COULD be a really good main event.
I am also hoping for a tournament like at WM2(?) leading to the unification of the 2 world titles and ending the brand split. That could be totally unique, help the transition for this new generation and also increase buys. Using the end of the brand split and the unification at WM could be just the launching pad for a new public "make new stars" initiative.

This current storyline continues, but the title is added when Punk takes the belt in the Chamber.

Triple H vs. Sheamus
Another revenge match for the card. Over the top entrances and all.
Streak on the Line
The Miz vs. The Undertaker
Miz loses his Championship in the Chamber and tries to rebound the best way he could, by challenging the Undertaker's streak. Miz will look like a threat as he was just WWE Champion, and going over Orton a few times. Plus, it took a Chamber match to get the belt off him. The promos by Miz would be gold, and the Riley interference at Mania will add a lot to the match.
World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
Del Rio wins the Royal Rumble and challenges Edge. It would have a good kickoff, considering that Del Rio sidelined Christian way back when.
Grudge Match
Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho wants his revenge for Orton punting him back in September.
Grudge Match
Kane (face) vs. Wade Barrett
Barrett reveals that the reason he helped Kane at Bragging Rights was so Barrett would be rewarded with a WHC match. Unfortunately for Wade, Kane lost the belt, so the favor is out the window. Meanwhile, there are telling signs that Taker is going to return, so they realize that they have to help one another fight off Taker soon.
Kane and Barrett await Taker in the ring, but when the lights go out, Barrett rolls out of the ring and leaves Kane by himself as Taker destroys him. The next week, have something similar where Kane stands up Barrett and Taker gets his revenge on Barrett. The mistrust they have and the dropped promises then leads to a short "filler" grudge match at Mania.
I really couldn't find any other way to book the triangle of Kane/Taker/Barrett, because Taker/Kane has been done to death, and Taker/Barrett just shouldn't happen at this point. If Barrett was still the leader and was booked strongly, then fine, but right now he is no where near ready to make a believable challenger for Taker's streak.
Money in the Bank
Morrison vs. Swagger vs. Bourne vs. McIntyre vs. Rhodes vs. Big Show vs. R-Truth vs. Dibiase
I really hope they have MITB at WM this year, as it gives a great variety to the card and gives everyone that fun spotfest.
United States Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
Vickie pulls some strings to get Dolph a match for the United States Championship against Bryan. If this was 2010's MOTY (according to their site, tied with HBK/Taker), why not try and re-create some of that match quality for the biggest show of the year?
Intercontinental Championship
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Face vs. Face match-up here to kick off the show. This helps the credibility of the IC title, as Rey is again competing for it, and it also helps Kofi since he needs to have a PPV match against someone other than Swagger or Dolph.

I'm going to assume Cena wrestles, which will obviously change things greatly if he doesn't...
WWE Championship:
John Cena vs CM Punk
World Heavyweight Championship:
Undertaker vs Wade Barrett
Triple H vs Sheamus
Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho
Christian vs Edge
The Miz vs John Morrison (although after last night it may be unlikely)
Title for Title
Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler
If they have a MITB, Del Rio wins it. If not, him and Rey will find another place on the card. Maybe with Kane and Big Show respectively, for the tag belts.

My dream is to have Kofi win MITB. Del Rio wins at Mania, only to have Kofi come right in, and take out Del Rio for the title. Jizz will fly all over the place if that happens.

I think The Undertaker will return to take out Wade Barrett & The Corre, and end up back with Kane as the The Brothers of Destruction. There is a thin line between love and hate.
Due to the huge Mexican fan base of WWE, I think Rey vs Del Rio is the best option, Christian may cause Edge the title at Elimination Chamber setting up that match.
I'd rather see Lawler vs Riley than Lawler vs Cole, but Cole should be in there somewhere.
Dolph and Big Show are both wild cards, Big Show has a DVD coming out so you gotta think he with be featured at Wrestlemania in a decent way. Dolph has totally earned his spot but he has wrestled the hell out of Edge, Kofi, and Daniel so I can't really think of a "good" match that he could be involved in. This one is more of a guess.
There are tons of guys left off my card, guys that would be great if they decided to do a Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which I really think they should and probably will do.
WWE doesn't usually do more than 8 or 9 matches but thats not a rule, and its a four hour PPV so I hope get another match or two. It's possible Christian could be left off altogether I suppose but I have a feeling WWE values his addition to their roster and they know full well his potential, especially as a heel. I could see a four way match for the World Heavyweight Title to tighten up the show and get more guys on, however I am hoping that doesn't happen as it would weaken Alberto Del Rio's existence as the Rumble winner.

Divas Battle Royal for the WWE Divas Championship
Eve Torres (c) vs. Alicia Fox vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Brie Bella vs. Gail Kim vs. Kaitlyn vs. Maryse vs. Melina vs. Natalya vs. Nikki Bella vs. Rosa Mendes vs. Tamina
* The Divas Battle Royal will be the cool-down match. Beth Phoenix wins the Divas Title for the first time, and then Kong appears and destroys her.
* Trish Stratus & Kelly Kelly defeat LayCool, furthering the tension between Michelle McCool & Layla, and promoting Trish Stratus as a trainer on Tough Enough. This could be in the "cooler" spot, but I think Trish Stratus' return will be special enough that the WWE gives it its own spot.
* Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty with Ezekiel Jackson and Mason Ryan in their respective corners. Otunga & McGillicutty win because Otunga is someone the WWE sees potential in, and McGillicutty is a competent worker, and the New Nexus seems to be struggling more than The Corre.
* Jerry Lawler squashes Michael Cole just for entertainment. More power to Cole if he takes a Piledriver. Jim Ross joins the commentary team to replace Cole for the rest of the night. Jim Ross, Josh Mathews & Booker T handle the rest of the dealings, with Lawler perhaps returning to call the main event.
* Rey Mysterio defeats Cody Rhodes, because Rhodes is still young and is not going to be hurt by it, and Mysterio still moves so much merchandise. Plus, it's WrestleMania, so the faces going over is not a bad move, per se. If Rhodes shows up wearing a protective face mask that also hides his face, this could be Mask vs. Mask.
* Wade Barrett proves himself ready to step up to the next level by successfully toppling The Giant.
* CM Punk defeats Randy Orton when Chris Jericho makes a surprise appearance, costing Orton the match. I can dream.
* John Morrison's great work over the last few months is rewarded when he wins the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, knocking off Kofi Kingston last.
* The Undertaker defeats Triple H, as Shawn Michaels does prove to be an impartial referee. I don't think Triple H's career will be on the line.
* Christian gets added to Edge vs. Del Rio, to play off his history with both men. This match will likely be down lower on the card, beneath both Taker vs. Triple H and The Miz vs. Cena and the cooler between those matches. A mid-show World Title match. A lot of people would pick Del Rio to win this, but I don't think he actually gets it done. I see a face walking out the winner, and as much as my heart would want to see Christian do it, I don't think the WWE gives him the title. Plus, Edge has been pushed like a Superman recently. The Rated-R Superstar retains, and Del Rio has an excuse for the loss -- he was against seven-time WWE Tag Team Champions together.
* The Miz successfully defends the WWE Title against John Cena with some assist from The Rock -- more to hurt Cena than help The Miz. As the WWE Champ is celebrating, John Morrison comes to the ring and cashes in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Morrison wins the WWE Title to close the show. Hey, I can still dream.

Noid's card is pretty much what I'm thinking too. Although I'd probably go with a "never-been-done-before" triple threat with Show/Santino/Kozlov vs. Zeke/Slater/Gabriel vs. Otunga/Ryan/McGillicutty and Barrett involved in MitB or possibly the Orton/Punk match.

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, Noid's seems more or less spot on. I'm not entirely sure if they will do MITB or not but they would have to leave SO many guys off the card that should be there otherwise. I read that for guys who don't have a considerable amount of merch, the WM payday can be up to 20% of their yearly income. And I don't think guys in the pre-show get the same payday, so for morale reasons MITB should stay.
I'm torn. That looks like a fun card with some good matches, yet many of them feel predictable at the same time. I can't fathom WM ending in any way other than Rock planting Miz and/or Riley with a Rock Bottom and People's Elbow before hugging Cena and presenting him with the WWE Title, officially "passing the torch". That will probably be this year's "WM Moment" that WWE reference for years to come. But it just doesn't have the same effect if everybody in the world knows it's coming.
Hopefully they have something else big in store because right now this feels more like a stream/torrent-worthy PPV, not a $50 PPV. It's not an automatic buy for me this year. Good thing they've still got 6 weeks to build this up so we'll see.</font>

Howabout Rock passes the belt/torch to Cena, they hug, Rock raises Cena's arm in victory...
and Cena gives Rock the AA to close the show.
Now that would be a WM Moment!

<font color=goldenrod>If Rock ISN'T added as an official enforcer or ref for Miz/Cena, I don't think it's totally out of the realm of possibility for Miz to win. Miz would cheat for the win and walk away with the belt. But Rock could then come out and cut him off, hit his signatures, and shake Cena's hand to still have the "WM Moment". Triple H/Taker is probably gonna be the main event, so the show will still end on a high note. I'm also not totally convinced that Del Rio will win despite the mega push and the Rumble winner losing 3 months in a row - so the "they won't have two heel champs at the end of Mania" argument doesn't apply.
Backlash is official WM Rematch night anyway, so Cena could wait an extra month to get his commupence - and he'd ostensibly be more vicious after having his title-winning moment stolen from him at WM.
Just spitballing ideas here. Cena is 90% likely to win but at least there feels like a CHANCE he could lose unlike the last couple of years.</font>

I'm actually pretty sold on The Miz retaining. Don't ask me why. I just cannot see Cena winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania this year, as ridiculous as it sounds. I'll probably pick Cena on Tipsters to be safe, but The Miz retaining would not shock me in the slightest. The Miz defeating John Cena at WrestleMania cements him, but doesn't hurt Cena in any way.
After RAW, I'm also thinking that we see Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus in a US Title match. That would be pretty sick, actually. If Bryan works nearly as well with Sheamus as Morrison does, we'll have ourselves a bit of a cult classic. My biggest fear is that they put Sheamus over. I like the guy, think he's a solid worker, is charismatic, etc. But Daniel Bryan would just gain so much more from a Mania win. Keep his US Title reign going, and just see where it ends.
In place of Sheamus and Daniel Bryan in Money in the Bank, you'd probably get Mark Henry and Ted DiBiase, although I'm not excited about either of them being included in the match. I'd much rather see a lower-card RAW guy get a chance in the match. Fuck, perhaps even Santino Marella? He's definitely over enough.

<font color=goldenrod>Also you gotta consider Cole. He'll probably only call half of the PPV and won't come back after Lawler kicks his ass. They've invested so much energy into his man crush on Miz that it would feel incomplete if Miz lost the belt while Cole wasn't there.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>That spot traditionally goes to the divas, or at least a match that should cool the crowd down. I'm thiking either a divas match or a tag match (Nexus/Corre?) would go in that spot.

That would actually be perfect. In some people's eyes, Cena's rap last night made him a face again. I think it laid the seeds of him turning heel.
Also, his rap last night was so PG-13. Just awesome

I'm going to give this another go, and this is less what I want to see, and more what I do think will go down:
World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
WWE Championship
The Miz (c) vs. John Cena
Ten Years in the Making
The Undertaker vs. Triple H
Nexus Banned from Ringside
Randy Orton vs. CM Punk
Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Michael Cole
4-on-1 Handicap Match
The Corre vs. Big Show
WWE United States Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus
Triple Threat Match for the WWE Divas Championship
Eve Torres (c) vs. Michelle McCool vs. Layla
Mixed Tag Team Match - If Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero win, they are re-instated
Drew McIntyre & Kelly Kelly vs. Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Chris Masters vs. Christian vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. John Morrison vs. Kane vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Mark Henry vs. Santino Marella vs. Ted DiBiase
NXT Pro vs. NXT Rookie
R-Truth vs. Johnny Curtis
Alright, some of this might need some explaining. With Johnny Curtis, I think they have big plans for him. Don't ask me why, it's just my gut feeling. If the WWE wants to make NXT mean something -- anything, then Curtis doing something is a good bet. When Curtis & Truth get their WWE Tag Team Title opportunity against The Corre, I see Curtis turning on Truth, and claiming that he was never there for him, and he's going into business for himself. Cue Truth getting mighty pissed off at Curtis, leading to this match. Truth could also be cost a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match to Ted DiBiase. This leads to Curtis and Truth signing off on their WrestleMania match. Hey, you need a cooler in there somewhere.
I'd like to see Christian involved in the World Title program, too, but I think it's unlikely the WWE will actually go ahead with it. I think he'll be involved, and cancel out some heel interference from Brodus Clay (who I think will be hot-shotted to the main roster as Del Rio's bodyguard), but other than that, Money in the Bank is again perfect for Christian. He's a big enough star to make it look like a legitimate title opportunity match, but he's not big enough to be needed elsewhere. I don't think any of the other guys would be a shock to see in the match, besides maybe Santino Marella, but he's getting a sort of sideways push at the moment. You could replace him with essentially anyone, but I could very easily see Santino being in it this year.
The Mixed Tag I am not sure of, and we could very easily just see Dolph & Vickie pop-up on RAW, but I could also see them playing their cards right and somehow getting back on SmackDown! in this situation where their jobs are on the line at WrestleMania for good. Drew McIntyre & Kelly Kelly's angle has to be going somewhere, too, right?
Eve Torres will be on the PPV, as will LayCool. I see the heels trying to work together to beat Eve, but Trish Stratus costs them the match, and they end up beating each other up to a huge pop.
Sheamus and Daniel Bryan warrant their own spot on the card, and this is your courtesy mid-card title match.
I would like to have seen The Corre do something more meaningful, but I don't think we will. Big Show has been yelling stuff like "I'll knock you all out!" and we saw Show essentially squash three men (one of them CM Punk) at SummerSlam, the second biggest PPV of the year. If this match happens, though, I expect it to be a ritual killing of Big Show, to further try and get The Corre over as a pack of heels in their WrestleMania debut.
Lawler vs. Cole won't so much be a match as a couple of minutes of marking out before Cole takes the Piledriver and is replaced by Jim Ross for the main event matches.
Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes is being set-up beautifully, and will happen. CM Punk vs. Randy Orton is pretty much in the same boat, too. The other matches are all confirmed.
Mr. Nerfect
02-28-2011, 09:57 AM
Actually, I'll change that to Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson vs. Big Show & Diesel and Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defending the WWE Tag Team Titles against R-Truth & Johnny Curtis -- where Curtis could then turn.
I'd like to see Christian win MitB (if there is one) and then insert himself into the WHC match to make it a Triple Threat.
It'd be a different take on cashing in, pretty much a "babyface" way of doing it by not taking advantage of a beaten up champ and by doing it in a fair way. And of course it's a way of getting the belt on Xtian.
Or not, he could take the fall and that would set up issues with Edge.
