So what do you see happening in the LHW division??
I know Rogan was all about a rematch but I dont think that will happen.. I see Machida being a stepping stone for guys like the winner of Bader/Jones while Rampage will fight either Shogun or Rashad.. I dont know if he'll fight the winner or loser but he has lost to both so either way it makes sense.. Where does that leave guys like Forrest Griffin or Phil Davis??
Discuss..

Winner of Bader/Jones vs Winner of Shogun/Rashad
Rampage vs Loser of Shogun/Rashad
Machida vs Loser of Bader/Jones OR Winner of Griffin/Franklin
I think those fights would be interesting. I don't think we need a rematch of Rampage/Machida, since there isn't a belt on "the wrong guy", in the way that many people felt about Machida/Shogun and Penn/Edgar. When there's no title involved, I'm happy for both guys to come out of a controversial fight with credit, and not be set back too much (kind of like Jon Jones after the Hamill "loss").

I think Bader and Jones need to beat a legit LHW contender before they get a shot..
Other than that :y:..

Other than those two, I'm struggling to think of LHW contenders with any kind of decent momentum streak.

I know.. I'm just saying Machida could be the fight that puts them MORE into the discussion..

So right now these are the fights to determine the LHW Title..
-Shogun/Rashad
-Franklin/Griffin
-Bader/Jones
Where does that leave Rampage, Machida, and Davis??
We are pegging all the "wild cards" to fight the losers so that leaves the winner of Franklin/Griffin and Bader/Jones to take the number one contender spot..

It depends how healthy the winner of the next title fight comes out, and how much time there is until they can defend it.

Does anyone think that if Griffin beats Franklin UFC would do a rematch between him and Rampage before they give either guy a title fight?
Let's also not forget that Jon Jones said he would never fight Rashad Evans even for the belt so if Rashad wins the title it could be awhile before we see Jones fight for it.

I think the problem is that all the legit LHW fighters are tied up in other matches. At best they could have done Griffin/Jones and Bader/Franklin, or Griffin/Bader and Franklin/Jones.

First of all I want to start by saying this: Phil Davis should not be thought about when it comes to a top tier LHW discussion YET...he needs to round his game out some more.
NOW:
Machida now equals gatekeeper until he can string together some wins. He could go against Franklin/Griffin loser.
Rampage has earned another Headlining gig, hopefully against Bader/Jones Winner I'd love to see Thiago Silva fight Page too.
Jone/Bader Winner should face the Franklin/Griffin winner in title eliminator: Should give either guy a chance to 'earn a win against an established fighter'.
Is the Next TUF LHW's? They really could use some new LHW's...

It's weird how stacked the LHW division was like 2 years ago.. I blame Machida for the demise..

Who's left the division in two years? Liddel, Oriz(hopefully), Thiago Silva hasn't been the same since losing to Machida,

Well, Rashads lost to Machida weakened him just like Forrests loss to Silva damaged him..
Really, the flow of the belt weakened to decision.. Forrest and Rashad never defended their title and Machida got beat up in two of his three outtings as the Champ..

machida only had two outtings as champ, both against shogun :'(

He "lost" both IMO..
Thought he fought Silva after Rashad.. I guess that was his win to get the shot..

I love how Machida's interpreter was like "yeah, we would like to have that rematch too"
Then in an interview later from Dana about the possible rematch he's like "Nah....no rematch"
fuck Machida and his rematches.

His "interpreter" is so his (and Anderson silvas) manager and he always says shot the fighters don't say.. Rogan has actually called Jim out on it during a post fight interview..
