Hey guy, I'm not really computer savvy at all so this may come off with a simple answer but I need help. My laptop all of a sudden became really really slow. It was very much out of the blue that it got slow. From when I flip it open to the time I'm actually able to surf the internet could take 10-20 minutes. Quite often once I finally get on the internet it will randomly slow down and I get the hourglass turning forever. I have after half an hour turned it off and took the battery out a few times.
It's not like I have movies and a lot of shit on there either.
I did a disk clean up, what else can I do? Help a lad out.

You probably have a virus.
I'll let someone else put in the effort to give you programs.

I just deleted a bunch of shit. I have a bunch of shit still on there but i dont' know what they are. There's like 36448781 adobe things, and 348743 microsoft things. I dont' know if they need to be uninstalled or anything.
My best suggestion would be to try something called Hijackthis
Google it :).

Anybody else use this? Hard to trust some guy with less than 100 posts.

I have.
But you have to sift through a lot (potentially) of results to figure out the crap that's mixed in.
You can run it and post the log here to show us what's running.
Minimize start-up programs
AVG/Avira Antivirus
Defrag
Should help.

Do you even have an antivirus program?
If you don't, get one.
If you do, run it.

And I'm still assuming you have a virus since your computer slowed down out of the blue.

I do have anti virus. I have a hunch that my problem might be that I have two. AVG and Shaw (shaw is who I buy my internet from).
Today it just took me the last 30 minutes to get online...now that I'm on it's fine.
