Think I've got about 30 games on it, mostly from ridiculous sales. I  it.

I'm not a user but I've been thinking about joining up just for a Securom free Spore. I've not used my disc based version.

Though I read that other Steam games have securom and Steam is some kind of securom like application itself. Puts me off the idea.

:), didn't even notice I was doing it tbh. I've had an 'aight' computer for around 3 years now, but never used it for games, which it was primarily built for.
Saw some people on here mentioning Steam and its ridiculous sales, so I took a browse.

Steam is much, much better than Securom. Only have to be online once in 3 months to keep the licenses up to date. If you've used XBLA, it's a very similar DRM system.

Other DRM can be present, but it's displayed clearly on the game description page.

I just looked at GTAIV which I know has Securom and it's listed in the info box. Glad it tells you. If Steam doesn't take up tons of room or cause slow down, I'll sign up tonight.

Few mb I think and doesn't slow anything down unless it's downloading as far as I can see.

Cool, thanks. I'm a console gamer by nature so anything PC gaming related is over my head.

Steam is my favorite PC application, and has kept me playing PC games altogether. I really don't care about owning media anymore, so it just really fits my taste. Own about 75 games or so.
