You know what I'm talking about. An Irish whip is performed and the wrestler bends down to receive a kick to the head or some other move. My question is what are they trying to attempt?

My guess would be by bending down it looks like a failed back body drop attempt.

BINGO.
Most guys don't articulate it well enough though, to make it seem like they're actually going for one. Just kinda stop and bend over (that's what she said).

One of the problems is that there aren't nearly as many "successful" back body drops, so it kind of lost it's meaning anymore. Kind of like hooking the leg on a pin being standard and able to be kicked out of instead of a veteran maneuver.

I used to like the spot where the face would drop his head purely to play possum as the heel tried to hit some power move on the bending down face.

Love when they used to go for that on Goldust, and he'd nail them with a falling uppercut.
