God, it's hard to believe it's already been 10 years and Daffney still looks hot as hell. I read that David Flair, Crowbar and Daffney were considered one of the worse gimmicks in 2000. Personally, I liked the idea that the son of a mega star goes insane and is the complete oppostie of his father. Plus, of all the horrible wrestling ideas that came out in 2000, they dont look that bad. Did anyone else enjoy the gimmick?

I didn't think it was that bad since it was different
WCW needed something to make things a little interesting since they were in the toilet at the time

I thought they were a cool tag team. I also liked Crowbar's color commentary on one match on Nitro.

I enjoyed it.
I thought I would never see Dafney again after her WCW run. It was entertaining to watch.

Hell yeah Daffney's still hot!
I agree with Rollermacka about "the idea that the son of a mega star goes insane and is the complete oppostie of his father"
and Crowbar wasnt that bad of a wrestler...what happened to him?

I thought it was interesting, got them over amid the clusterfuck that was WCW at the time, and actually I was pulling for them. Besides, the "son of the Nature Boy" was already being done around that time by Charles "Lil Naitch" Robinson.

Devon Storm still wrestles in the indies, where he was most known for before his on-and-off tenure in WCW between 1996 and 2001.

Now that I think of it, I did kinda the same angle with my e-fed character. Only it was a whole lot more complex and convoluted. Resulting in the son impregnating the father's secretary with a genetically engineered baby created from the DNA of the coolest wrestlers ever, in an attempt to give the father a taste of how it is like to live in the shadow of someone infinitely better than you.

David Flair was passable until he started getting beat up by Kimberly Page
I loved WCW's Hardcore division.
It was mostly filled with the guys with shitty gimmicks like Demon, Vampiro and Norman Smiley, but it was great. La Parka busting chairs off skulls was sick. Flair was pretty bad but Crowbar and Meng's feud was class.

I was a complete mark back then, so I loved it.
But looking back, God did David Flair suck or what?

I would never see David Flair be successful like his dad but I liked his crazy gimmick wth him carrying a crowbar as a weapon until Crowbar the person came in.

Flair was pretty awful, I'm surprised he managed to stay afloat for that long just by having the 'Flair' last name.
That aside, I can endure a bunch of crappy David Flair matches so long as Daffney's at ringside.

Why wasn't Daffney in the title of this thread? Nobody gives a shit about David Flair and Crowbar! :n:

All Daffney did at that time was screaming and performing Hurricanranas (sp?) on people and Crowbar just bumped like an idiot.

It was, thats hilarious. I also like the fact that there was segments on Nitro fallowing Big Vito's sisters wedding. Classic Vince Russo right there

Crowbar debuted at a Thunder taping here, it was the last one of 1999. Crowbar was working at a gas station thats literally about 5 minutes away from my house (though the gas pumps are gone now) which I immediately recognized and went crazy about. Flair and Daffney went bezerk at the Burger king Drive thru down the street from the Civic Center. That was also the Thunder taping that Goldberg busted up his arm punching the limo window. I also got about 2 seconds worth of TV time during a wide shot with advertisements. I still have the tape but no VCR anymore..lol

This sounds so much like Mike Tenay circa WCW talking about some random Mexican luchadore. Is that you Mike?

i would kind of like to see ether crowbar or flair rejoin daffney for a mini angle that could be good.

Well, it WAS WCW after all. They employed Horace before the whole "he's Hogan's nephew" bit.
Also, your avatar looks like Daff using Luna's titantron. Not a complaint, just an observation.

I got to meet Daffney once; after WCW went under she worked at a gym in the town where I went to college. I'm happy that she started wrestling again, since A: she was really nice when I met her and it's good to see nice people get rewarded, and B: that town is a shit-hole and no one should ever have to live there.
Also, she's still hot as hell and having hot women on my TV is always a good thing.
Anyway, back to David Flair and Crowbar. They were really, really bad, but I thought their gimmick was fun.
