Hardy was in a North Carolina courtroom on Wednesday to defend himself against various drug charges stemming from his September 2009 arrest.

According to the Moore County Sheriff's Office police report, found 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia when doing a search of Hardy's home.

Hardy was arrested (mugshot) and hit with a long list of charges - including:

- Conspiracy to traffic in Opium
- Trafficking in Opium by possession
- 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute
- Felony possession of cocaine
- Felony maintaining a controlled substance in a vehicle/dwelling/place
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

As we've seen a number of times before, the Moore County Superior Court delayed the case yet again - with Hardy due back in court on January 20th.

How the hell does Jeff do it? Does the jury consist of TNA fans or something?

The Judge can't hear the prosecution over the chants of "THIS IS AWESOME!"

My god what an evil bastard. How dare he be alive. We should probably just hunt that life damaging bastard down now and throw him off a cliff.

This can be for several reasons, none of which would have to do with a jury. Our legal system can take forever.

Yea I'm just surprised at how many times this case has been delayed.

Jeff Hardy + Drug Charges = Community Service at the MAX

Minimum Sentencing for the major charges are SOME jail time. He can keep pushing it back, but eventually he's going to lock up.

I think it also has to do with the charges being mostly about stuff related to dealers instead of charging him mainly as a user since he appears to be a pothead who smokes a lot and maybe gives some to friends who come over for the occasional group smoke.

He'll end up getting punished for the possession charges but none dealing with him as a dealer.

Is there any community service that involves falling off ladders?

Assuming he doesn't manage to weasel out.

Even though this is a federal case...why the hell does it keep getting delayed? As far as I know, there is no legal reason for it to be delayed this long. At this point, he won't be going to jail until well after he's retired from wrestling.

It just perplexes me.

The jury can't be TNA fans, there aren't that many of them outside of Florida...

Hey, somebody had to say it.

I think Jeff signed to TNA just for an excuse to delay the trial this many times already. To show that he is working and doesn't have the time to be in NC for an extended period of time. If he wasn't a celebrity he'd probably have been in a jail cell for most of this time awaiting trial.

To be fair, delaying the procedure isn't something that is uncommon, especially when the defendant has a good lawyer. Jeff is just using all the money he got from selling drugs to finance his case.

The case getting delayed isn't necessarily a good thing for Hardy. It's usually the defendant's lawyer using his tactics. Plus, Hardy now has to pay his lawyer more money, since the case got delayed.

Is he not on probation? I believe, and it might be different in the United States, that probation counts against your sentence. I believe if he gets found guilty, he will never step a foot in jail, and can continue to entertain the world every Thursday night on Impact!

And no TNA fan would miss out on the Impact Zone anyway.

Potential freedom is something worth spending money on. Especially since he's getting paid, getting high, and has a big gay belt.
