For the final WWE Smackdown episode leading to the TLC PPV...

Edge promo starts the show. He introduces a video montage of last few week's events, talks about the World Title match this Sunday, and leaves. Pretty uneventful.

Miz vs. Rey Mysterio is later tonight.

Teddy Long and Edge are talking in back. The TLC match is changed to Fatal Four-way with Del Rio and Mysterio added.

(1) Kofi Kingston & Kaval beat IC champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger. Great match as expected.

Miz was interviewed by Jack Korpela. He talks about how he has had a busy week and promises to put Orton through a table on Sunday.

JTG has a new segment called Str8 Outta Brooklyn talking about the TLC PPV. He has a good Justin Beiber joke.

Kelly Kelly and Drew McIntyre are in the back. Drew is hitting on Kelly Kelly, then Kaitlyn interrupts.

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes's weekly grooming tip is about hair and how to blow dry.

(2) Cody Rhodes beat Chris Masters. Short, uneventful match.

(3) WWE champion The Miz beat Rey Mysterio after interference by Del Rio. Great match. Afterward, Edge runs in to help Rey. Teddy Long comes out and makes a tag match for later tonight with Del Rio and Miz vs. Rey and Edge.

Lay-Cool promo time. They try to call off the tables match, then Natalya and Beth Phoenix come out with a table gift wrapped like Christmas present. After typical back and forth banter, Beth unwraps the table and it's pink with a painting of Lay-Cool looking like a couple of witches. Catfight ensues with Beth and Natalya trying to suplex Layla through the table, but Michelle saves her.

(4) WWE Unified tag champions Santino & Koslov beat Tyler Reks & Chavo Guerrero.

(5) WWE champion The Miz & Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio & Edge goes to a No Contest. Kane interferes to have the match thrown out, Edge and Kane go at it, and the entire roster runs out trying to separate them. All hell breaks loose, Drew McIntyre attacks Rey at ringside, and Edge eventually spears Kane. Awesome Ending. End taping.

Fatal four-way TLC match with Del Rio and Mysterio added? That's made the WHC match more interesting.

I would agree as that opens up a slot for another match where theirs would have taken place. Part of me says Del Rio is winning this now as SD is lacking main eventers and him winning could push him to that next level.

Why not just have Rey vs Del Rio in a #1 contender's match like they are doing with Morrison/Sheamus. I like the idea of the 4 way TLC but to just throw them in there at the last minute just doesn't seem right. Rey vs Del Rio in a ladder match would be awesome to see on its own

Now, the question is what match will fill in.... perhaps a suprise?

I have a feeling Del Rio is taking the title.

Kind of makes sense to add Mysterio and Del Rio to the WHC match. They were supposed to have a chairs match, but with that being the gimmick associated with Cena/Barrett, it would've been redundant and overshadowed. There's already too many match types being double-booked on the PPV as it is.

Most likely some form of tag team title tlc match or something. Or a US Title ladder match.

I have a feeling Del Rio is taking the title.

Likewise, which isn't entirely a bad thing, but to be honest, what good does it do any of the other 3 guys to win it?

None really need it outside of Del Rio. And he can easily drop it at the Chamber.

Also, I just looked up the results, and for 2007, 2008 and 2009, a world title has changed hands at the December PPV. Edge won in 07, Hardy won in 08 and Sheamus in 09. It would make sense if they continue that tradition.

Edit: Actually, just went a little back, and of the years that a world title was on the line, the champion walked out of a December PPV with the title only 3 times since 1999.

I bet Cody Rhodes has the best Win/Loss ratio in the last 4-5 months. Sounds like a pretty good show.

Sounds like a good WWE Did You Know?

The ending sounds great, but I'd rather have Del Rio and Mysterio in a one on one match.

This is true, but they said the same about Sheamus, Swagger, and Miz. SD is in dire need of main eventers. Taker is hurt. Kane can't go too much longer. Christian is hurt. Rey is hurting and need surgery on his knees. Edge has more or less been there and done that so him winning really does nothing major for him. I wouldn't mind Edge winning and holding it until WM and fueding with Christian oer it, but that's just a pipe dream.

When is christian coming back? Too bad for christian this would probably be his big break.

I think around Chamber. If it was possible I'd say get him back for Rumble, have him be a suprise entrant and win then face Edge for the WHC at WM. Again this is the WWE so he'll likely job in the WM MitB match as always instead.

So now its a mini MITB match.Good times.

Nah, way too soon. Him winning the title with just one week of finding out he was added to the match? Not gonna happen, bro. Hell, they built up Wade Barrett for months before his title match, and he didn't even win. Everyone thought Del Rio was a shoe in to win KOtR, but that never happened.

Somehow, I see Kane retaining

Its nearly always a heel holding the belt on the Wrestlemania run in, so I'd say Kane retains. Cant really see Del Rio winning it yet.

I just don't understand pics/statues like that? Do guys wank to them (of course they do)?

I love Del Rio, but I'd wait for him to win a belt. WWE doesn't like build up anymore. He can still get the belt rather quickly, if that's what they want, but he should win it in an actual feud since he's been beating guys cleanly. People hate him, and will hate him more if he's a champ who's beating guys, most of the time, cleanly. All it takes is a few months of him as champ, and losing it to someone who hasn't won the belt before to make another main eventer. It's simple old school booking that WWE doesn't like.

i'm fairly certain the only reason they changed the the match to a fatal four way is because mysterio is badly injured and they wanted to take more of the focus of the match off of him.

I would actually enjoy WWE Did You Know if it contained useful trivia facts like this, that put over Superstars and events without it being the WWE trying to cheer themselves up.

I like that Mysterio and Del Rio have been added. Mysterio has been in surprisingly few Ladder Matches for a guy who is advertised as being the best high-flyer the WWE has. Del Rio in the environment will be interesting. Also, while Edge can work those sort of matches, Kane is best as a supporting player in them. I think this plays to the strengths and weaknesses of everyone involved. Plus it throws more intrigue around the title.

Alberto Del Rio does seem like he could win the belt, as someone with importance is obviously VERY high on him. He's only been around a few months, but he "gets it." He's reminding me of Kurt Angle in how he seems to have everything click. But I agree it is too early for him to win the World Title. Personally, I would like to see Christian attack Del Rio with a steel chair, taking him out of contention. Christian is then hurting Del Rio and helping Edge, as well as setting up an obvious program with Del Rio for when he is ready to return.

Edge winning is still my bet, and I'm predicting we get Edge vs. Del Rio one-on-one at the Royal Rumble.

From a storyline viewpoint I don't like that they changed the Main Event.

I mean, we've sat through this "Edge getting in Kane's head" for how many weeks now? And it turns out the story is all for nothing as he now has 2 other guys to worry about.

Also, the "if Kane doesn't show it's a Triple Threat/If he does it's a 4 way" doesn't make any sense. Surely, if he does show the match reverts back to a one-on-one!?

I feel like WWE has really fucked us over making us watch these bullshit build-ups (look at Cena/Nexus too) only to completely un-do the plot.

On the plus side, the match should be more entertaining.
