View Full Version : The KICK!
Don't know if anyone caught the last WEC event tonight before the merger...
Anthony Pettis, in a lightweight title fight, landed what is one of the coolest moves I've ever seen in an MMA fight! Epic move and awesome fight! :D

I was thinking he learned Tae Kwon Do or Muay Thai and I just checked and he did. I don't know why people don't do more of these kind of moves because some are pretty good and if you have the right moment you can capitalize with these moves.

Should be mandatory in ever fight. :shifty:
Probably don't see it because the chances of actually connecting are so low...plus if you miss, you put yourself in a vulnerable position for a split second.

Watching it live was absurd.

I let out a "HOLY SHIT" seeing it live.

That was the first WEC event that I watched from top to bottom. Usually I'd just watch the individual matches of Faber, Aldo, Cerrone, Pettis and Henderson, but after that night I feel like I missed out on watching some good fights over the years. 155 is going to be a very exciting division.

I'm going to miss WEC. I found lately that top to bottom, WEC would put on more exciting cards than big brother UFC. Part of that is having a smaller cage and the other is having the lighter weight classes. Will also miss having top quality MMA free on Versus (though we still four events next year).
Still, I'm excited for the merger. We'll finally see José Aldo, Urijah Feber, Pettis, and others get a bit more mainstream recognition. I'm very excited for the UFC lightweight division.

WEC 34 was prolly the best pound for pound mma show of all time.. One reason might be because it was the night after elite xc's first free show on CBS which was a huge failure..
