What do you guys think about Ubereem? I think he might be the best pure striker in the heavyweight division, but in all honesty I don't know if he has much of a ground game.

I think he has enough talent to dominate in Strikeforce, but how do you think he would fare in the UFC?

He's always improving, right now the biggest question would have to be his cardio.

With the UFC heavyweight division being kinda thin right now, do you think he'd be able to step in and beat the likes of Lesnar, Carwin and Mir or would their conditioning and backgrounds in wrestling and/or Jiu Jitsu expose him?

I'm only using Lesnar, Carwin and Mir because I think he'd be too much for Struve and Pat Barry. Minotauro and Cro Cop would have been good fights for him a few years back but putting him against those guys today, I don't think they'd be any match.

Cheick Kongo would be an interesting opponent as well.

Dos Santos, Velasquaz, Lesnar, and Carwin would be challenges for him. Though if he could avoid Lesnar's wrestling he would most likely give him a beating.

Truth is other than Brett Rodgers Overeem hasn't faced any legitmate competetion since his move to heavyweight and there are some who will say Rodgers was over ranked at the time, which he was. His last crediable oppanents were Shogun and Ricardo Arona, both at light heavyweight and he lost both. Until I see Overeem go atleast 2 whole rounds in MMA, and beat a legit opponent I'm not sold. His striking is devasting, and some of the best at HW, but going 4 rounds in K-1 and 3 rounds in MMA and two totally different things.

Ovareem has killer submissions too. Plus back when he was a LH he would regularly be winning fights until he'd gas from cutting so much weight.

He's probably never coming to the UFC though. He's doing both MMA and K-1 and the UFC isn't going to allow that. And I think this actually makes him the only guy to be a world champion in 2 combat sports at the same time.

Funky, I can only pray that you're right...for 2011. Overeem has some work to do in Strikeforce. He can polish off Werdum, and hopefully he can finally get Fedor's ducking ass in the cage. After those two victories, and the Dream Job. I can see him coming to the UFC

I think now that Overeem has won K-1 he'll probably focus exclusively on MMA.

Does anyone know why Strikeforce is renegotiating with Fedor again and why they aren't trying to get him to fight Overeem?

He's a bad mofo but I honestly don't give a shit because he's not in the UFC. Same goes for Fedor.

Well it looks like he going to be fighting Bobby lashely next. Its a lose lose for alistair if this goes down.Obviously if reem losing thats a huge blow to his stock and if he wins he beats someone out of the top 20.

the only person he's ever beat i give a shit about is belfort. and i have a feeling those wins may well have come around the time belforts head was in the wrong place cause of the whole sister thing. i like watching him, however i agree with dana that he isn't a top 10 fighter.
