From Dixie Carter's Twitter:
"Proud to report the re-signing of Samoa Joe! I feel good knowing that I have a focused & determined Samoan on my side. Congrats to us both!"
Not like it wasn't going to happen though. Congrats on Joe for making the best decision for him. I guess there wasn't much interest in WWE signing him not sure why though. Also I heard it is a deal for about 2-3 years.
Discuss.

I wish he had resigned and not just re-signed.
Why is this breaking news?

With no contract it wouldn't be resigning (quitting.) It would just have been going somewhere else.

Seriously? WWE had NO interest in him?
WWE is going with its "youth initiative" or whatever they call it, and I for one am all for it. Hell, they managed to make Michael Cole from an obnoxious guy whom no one cared about in Jan, 2010 to one of the biggest characters in Dec,2010. They are not really lacking for talent a lot as far as I am concerned.

Well, Samoa Joe is 31, so clearly age isn't an issue for getting into WWE.
Perhaps he didn't even try? Or maybe he did and WWE just really weren't interested?
Or could it even be that he actually prefers to work at TNA? (Crazy I know, but hey each to his own).
Is this the big surprise?

Oh TNA had another big surprise? I thought they'd already had their December surprise.

I used to really like his work and character. Now I put him slightly above Cody Rhodes and beneath Kofi Kingston.
No doubt he'll be bitching about his spot and trying to get out after a month, as is the norm.
Seriously, he's his own worst enemy.

If it were to happen RIGHT NOW, I think I'd rather see a Cody Rhodes match than a Samoa Joe one.

Why didn't YOU sign Samoa Joe GM. You've been without a really fat Samoan for a year.
If you put the Usos together you only have one normal-size Samoan.

you idiot, it's spelled "re-signed" not "resigned". I thought this was good news thinking that he resigned

Samoa Joe is a medium-sized fish (not literally) in a small pond...... If WWE had interest (not saying they didn't) he would become a small fish in a large pond..... The choice should have been obvious to him.....

How many people do you think KNEW he didn't have a contract? Don't get mad at people because you made a mistake. It's really not a huge deal, but you should at least be able to see why some people viewed it the way they did.
I for one am glad that it has been changed to re-sign.
Oh, also, I guess TNA promised him something, anything worthwhile to do.
I'd have thought with Danielson, Kaval and Punk, there might have been some interest from WWE. Wouldn't one of those guys have vouched for him?

Didn't Colt Cabana wrestle for WWE for a few matches? Pretty sure Punk vouched for him, but it still didn't protect him from getting buried/jobbing it up

WWE does not need Joe. What would they do.... give him Armando Alejandro Estrada as a manager and make him come out to island drums and chanting music volume 8? WWE does not need another Umaga R.I.P. I guess they could team him with the Uso's and have a...... idk what because thats another terrible idea..... They wold just give him a small to med push and then write him out of the story.

Nobody's saying that he would be immune to that treatment.
Just seems like he would have an "in" at WWE and they seem to have shown no interest.

I remember reading somewhere that Joe didn't want to go to WWE. He'd rather be a big fish in a small pond kinda thing. He knew that he'd be held down in WWE and wouldn't go far, so he thought staying in TNA and doing his indy shit was best for his career. I recall him even mentioning Triple H someway.

Man, I was really hoping WWE would pick him up. He'd could have been as big as Braden Walker.
Samoa Joe ate Braden Walker.

Yaaaaay, great decision, didn't want him to go to WWE and be Umanga number 2 or using a jobber name.

Seen as though you asked for my opinion so loudly...
I feel sorry for Samoa Joe, I think he's incredibly talented and could be huge but WWE would never get along with him, because he doesn't fit their idea of a superstar and TNA is a cesspool of shite. Sucking talent dry and stripping them of any superstar aura (see Jeff Hardy).
Truth be told I bet WWE wouldn't take him and TNA is the place that he can make the most amount of money.

I'd get that if not for how well Punk has done (and to some extent Danielson).
Granted, Joe would HAVE to lose some weight and no doubt wouldn't have any semblance of creative control but let's face it: he's done jack shit in TNA for the last 12 months.
