View Full Version : The Undertaker's Streak vs The WWE Title
I've done a similar topic in the past in terms of which is more important, but I think it's pretty clear that The Undertaker's streak means more to WWE than either world title.
So, my question is, if at least one of the world titles would have been the most important thing WWE books around, and they booked around it correctly, would The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels from WrestleMania 26 have still been the main event, assuming that they didn't do it for the title?
Also, do you think, assuming he's ready to go, that Undertaker's match will once again main event WrestleMania 27?

I think the only way Taker's streak main events again is if he faces Cena.
And I do think that Taker/Shawn would have main evented last year, especially given the story, the build, and the finish.

I don't think Taker will go on last even if he did face Cena. And maybe the only way you could make his streak less important than the title for now is if they put him in a crummy match at Mania. Even if you put him against someone like Sheamus or Barrett, the build wouldn't be main event worthy. Ok, I take it back, its main event worthy, but its not that problem where you can't follow that match.
Now if it were for his streak to reach 20-0, especially against Cena, it should go on last.
But isn't Taker's return by Mania in question anyway?

I think it is the most important thing @ Wrestlemania. I reckon to some it may mean more than the event itself, not old schoolers but kids who know it's the biggest PPV, but that would be the only focal point.
I pray to god it stays with him. It's a great way to immortalise him and seriously cannot see why anyone (and who) could take it away from him. It wouldn't give them enough to go on. The only closest is Kane, but what can he do with it? It wouldn't make him more immortal, it would just disappear within months.
I hope he does it, then they have a dedicated bye bye to him as I do think he needs a bloody good send off very soon. He's quality, a legend, but needs to preserve that and unlike others, wouldn't mind retiring and wouldn't need to come back.

The only person I could remotely see not going total apecrap if ended the streak would be Ted Debiase... and that only if they build it REAL good... and if it is at a point where Debiase is almost "there"... the reasoning is it could be a kind of "full circle" thing... Dad brings him in... son takes him out

Cody Rhodes should end The Streak.

Actually like this, except not for Wrestlemania.

Same here but Survivor Series would be ideal since it was the very PPV he debuted on.

There is only one guy I would be ok with seeing break the streak. Wade Barrett.

A Taker/Cena match at Wrestlemania is going on last. It doesn't matter which year it is.
