Match of the Night: Sheamus v. Morrison
Surprise of the Night: Diva's Table Match (In no way sucked)
Buzzkill of the Night: Dashing + Big Show (And Dashing's awesome BTW, but that segment had no place on a PPV)

What a perfect Metaphor: Barrett buried by Cena...
Cena wins. F Me.

The tagline for WWE's "Extreme Rules" PPV in Tampa, Florida on May 1, 2011 is currently: "what's John Cena's next move against the Nexus?"

This is a fairly silly statement, to be honest. Cena has made Wade into a main event threat during this feud. Wade is one of the baddest dudes in the company now and Cena is probably the biggest reason. How did Cena bury him? Certainly it wouldn't make sense for Wade to come out on top in 100% of their battles together.
Cena isn't to blame for anything in this feud, he's done his job perfectly.

There's no way they can stretch out Cena vs Nexus for another five months. :-\
Tonight was the end. They've done eveything they can with it and Cena won. He took out all of Nexus in true Superman fashion.

It WAS pretty terrible though. That angle had so much potential. So much.
At least we've got Miz and Morrison going on.
Morrison's match with Sheamoose was by far match of the night, even if I missed half of it.

I'd say of anything Barrett has remade Cena. The anti Cena chants have absolutely died since this feud started. Barrett is a great heel all on his own.
Barrett only came out on top once, since then Cena's dominated him and embarrassed him and all of Nexus week after week.

While I agree they kind of rushed the end of the feud, and that it could have ended better, it was far from terrible.
Just read the results. A bit disappointed over there being no Daniel Bryan, but looks like it was a good show even with the TLC match not being the last one

Did anyone notice Mysterio's mask look like KISS complete with Gene Simmons wig and Matt Striker says, "I love PSYCOSIS!!" lol.
P.S. Is it just me or Mysterio's abs is starting to look like Matt hardy's fat abs too?

im so happy that the dirty skank slutty lame-fools got put through a table.
I can say that WWE officially killed Wade Barrett and Nexus for me last night, and honestly, that finish was the only logical way to go at this point. I tried to stay behind him. I saw potential when the Nexus angle started. I knew Barrett would be the only one to REALLY get anywhere in the next year.
Then Nexus couldn't take out Cena. One man versus 5-8 guys. One man destroyed a stable time after time.
But that isn't even the worst of Barrett's booking, because Cena dominating is to be expected. It's the fact that Barrett, since debuting Nexus, has won between two and three matches. His only worthwhile win came when he beat Cena at HIAC, and even then, he couldn't do it on his own. How am I supposed to take someone who can't win a match on his own seriously? I get that he's supposed to be the chickenshit heel (Which he SHOULDN'T be), but when you have basically no wins under your belt and you're made out to be a loser time after time, you have no business being in the main event more than a month.
Barrett has been booked so poorly in this that I've lost all interest in him. I do think he can bounce back in time, but there's no way in hell I could buy him anywhere near the main event until summer, at the earliest. At this point I say fuck the Taker storyline. I'd rather see Otunga vs Undertaker in a squash than Barrett vs Undertaker on Mania.
Nexus has been an absolute failure. I don't care what anybody says. A group like that, EVEN if they were rookies, should have eventually been able to overwhelm one man for a time. They never did. Cena always got the upper hand, except for the original beat down. That set up Nexus perfectly as a ruthless band of rookies out for revenge and glory. They then turned into one of the biggest jokes of 2010.
And I don't care what the circumstances were, but Kozlov and Santino going over anybody, let alone two guys in a stable that's supposed to be important to the storylines, is ridiculous and shows just how much Nexus really means to WWE.
So much potential in a storyline that I kept giving chances. And every time I saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel, Superman decided to fly his fucking ass down and block the end of the tunnel with a boulder.

<font color=goldenrod>I think that not only should Nexus disband, but Barrett should go to SmackDown. Let him build up as a proper solo heel away from Cena, Orton, etc.</font>

I agree with much of that.
However, I think Nexus really died when John Cena became a member. That's when all the flaws of the current WWE product just popped to life. Cena was a member of Nexus yet he openly defied the guy that holds his job in his hands? Really? Wade was made to look like an idiot when he couldn't reign in a guy who he essentially had by the balls. How am I supposed to take that seriously?
The biggest flaw however was John Cena still wearing his own merchandise. For the weeks that Cena was a part of Nexus he only wore a an armband showing himself to be a member. He also came out to his own theme music. What bullshit. If Cena doesn't wear the Nexus shirt and comes out to his own music you never give the fans the feeling that he's been defeated and is now a member of the faction. Why not have him wear the shirt? Because God forbid the WWE doesn't have Cena shilling merchandise for three seconds. Which shows what the WWE really cares about, selling shirts instead of putting on a good show. The thing they fail to realize is if you put on a good show you're going to sell more shirts of more guys because people's (and even kid's) interests become broader than just John Cena. But no, Cena only wears the Nexus shirt the one Monday before he gets "fired." Why not have Cena come out with his "Ce-nation" t-shirt each week only to have Barrett brow-beat him into putting on a Nexus t-shirt. At least that way you can have your cake and eat it too.
Then the stipulation at Survivor Series was made and Cena makes the "noble" choice. Yawn. But it could have been okay if you keep Cena off television for a few months and then had him come back due to some bullshit. But instead you make Barrett look weak and stupid by re-hiring Cena three weeks later (and by the way why was Cena on every Raw when he was fired? And why did he still have theme music?) And even in the context of re-hiring he looks stupid. He re-hires him with "condition." If Barrett were smart he would have had the condition "If you're re-hired you can't touch me or any member of the Nexus or else you'll be immediatly fired again" or "You're hired back to the WWE but now you're a Smackdown superstar." But no he just makes a match with him at the next PPV.
By the time we get to the TLC PPV the only logical move is to have Cena go over... so why not just have Cena win at Hell in the Cell and have and have Nexus disband then? What happened between Hell in the Cell and TLC was a gigantic waste of time and the storyline simply didn't progress. So why not end it three months ago and and save yourself the waste of energy. Barrett was at his peak at that show and ever show after it he lost some of his luster. Instead you could have had Nexus disband at Hell in the Cella and have Wade Barrett attack John Cena on his own week after week. Serving notice to the WWE that though he used Nexus to get in the door he's a serious threat on his own.
But alas that didn't happen. It's not Cena's fault. He played his part well. It's not Barrett's fault he played his role well. Just because Natalie Portman and Liam Neissen were terrible in Star Wars doesn't make them bad actors. Same thing applies here.

SCHLOMEY REVIEWS WWE TLC 2010
The last pay per view of the calender year. The stockings are hung like Khali and the snowglobes are shaking like The Bella Twins titties....boogity boogity boogity let's get reviewin'!
WE ARE LIVE in Houston, Texas...The least Christmasy city they could have chosen for a X-Mas PPV! The set looks just like last years but apart from the repetition it is still quite pretty. Let's head back down to the ring to the match already in progress.....
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Kofi Kingston vs Jack Swagger vs Dolph Ziggler
What a good choice for the opener. 3 guys that time and time again put on high quality PPV matches. The gimmick was very favorable for all 3 of the men as Kofi is known to be skilled on the ladder, Swagger was a MITB winner and Ziggler has at least given a couple nice ladder spots during previous MITB matches. The action was fast and the spots overall were really good. A great match with the "I hope the rest of the show follows this quality" feeling. I am USUALLY not a fan of gimmicky match endings but the flawless transition really felt REAL as if the title slipped between the fingers of the 2 grapplers on top the ladder. Very believable ending if I say so myself.
Winner - Dolph Ziggler
Match Rating - 8 piledrivers on a steel chair out of 10.
Diva Tag Team Tables Match
Nattie Neidhart & Beth Phoenix vs LayCool
My expectations were surprisingly high for this encounter. First you have LayCool. Apart from being obnoxious and annoying they have vastly improved this past year with in ring work as well as playing on the audience. Then you have Nattie and Beth who are almost equally as impressive and strong as they are sexy. The match met and slightly exceeded my expectations, which were rare and unusually high. The set up for the finish was a bit choppy but I loved when the table didn't break under their weight and Nattie had to do a froggette splash to take them out. Kudos ladies on the first really enjoyable PAY PER VIEW QUALITY Diva match in centuries!
Winners: Nattie Neidhart & Beth Phoenix
Match Rating: 7 chokeslams through a table out of 10.
World Tag Team Championships Match
Kozlov & Marella vs The Nexus
The only NON gimmick match on the card. Honestly forgot this match was going to happen and could care less about it. I laughed at a few spots which, I guess, was the point...But one has to wonder why The Nexus is getting involved in shit comedy angles and losing to the lowest card roster members. The match, however with out thinking about that stuff, was actually kind of fun.
Winners: Santino Marella & Kozlov via DQ
Match Rating: 5 headbutts on the top rung of a ladder out of 10.
Number 1 Contenders Ladder Match
Sheamus vs John Morrison
Expectations were very high for this match considering their last 2 outings have been outstanding in my opinion. I was not dissapointed here as this is easily the best match of the night, so far. The psychology of Sheamus in this match impressed me as he used his head instead of just his fists for a change. Morrison's high spots are always a treat but equally as impressive was his selling. Overall best use of the set and weaponry thus far into the show.
Winner: John Morrison
Match Rating: 10 broken Spanish announce tables out of 10.
WWE Championship Tables Match
The Miz vs Randy Orton
Again, expectations very high. This is a match I have wanted to see since The Miz came out and ran his mouth to Orton several months ago. I was a little bit nervous going in to this match knowing what they have to follow and knowing Orton's track record for boring performances in gimmick matches. He is an outstanding 1 on 1 wrestler but I have noticed with gimmick matches, us as the audience expect more octane than psychology and Orton rarely goes above and beyond inside the confines of a gimmick match. The match, however, was fairly explosive. Nice to see The Miz pull an extraordinary performance out of Orton within the parameters of the tables gimmick. The false finish was brilliant and equally as brilliant was the restart and actual finish. Kudos for the new WWE writers for giving us excitement, momentary confusion and for making people actually contrast emotions.
Winner: The Miz
Match Rating: 9 Rey Mysterio ladder botches out of 10.
World Heavyweight Championship T.L.C Match
Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio vs Kane vs Edge
A bit hesitant throwing 2 guys into the world title match out of nowhere, especially when the reason was because one of the guys is working injured. However, this main event quality match was very well done. I totally enjoyed every moment of the match. From the slow start, to the teamwork, to the ladder spots, to the table and high impact spots all the way to the finish. I especially appreciated Alberto Del Rio's performance throughout and the finale ladder dive through the table was taking like a true champ. I was happy with the outcome and happy that all 4 men put on quality performances. Glad to see Mysterio not call it in for a change and put it all out there.
Winner: Edge
Match Rating: 8 con-chair-tos out of 10.
Main Event Chairs Match
John Cena vs Wade Barrett
Nice to see that this match is deemed more important than the World Heavyweight AND WWE Championships. Not. Anyways, the match itself was rather boring and nothing I haven't seen from Cena a million times before. I really thought since they let this match go on last that CM Punk was going to be revealed as the GM or even go in and attack John Cena and claim that is who he was takling about on RAW at the Slammys. But no, just a standard John Cena match to kill the feud. The show should have ended with Miz or Edge as both of those matches were great and had meaning...a feud blow off that should have happened 2 months ago isn't as important to me as a title.
Winner: John Cena
Match Rating: 5 frog splashes from the top of a ladder out of 10.
OVER-ALL MATCH RATING: 52 out of 70
OVER-ALL OPINION
I loved this PPV even though it wasn't without it's flaws. All of the matches had great things attached to them (minus the tag match) but some of the match placements and bookings bothered me. Also, does anyone think that Cody Rhodes has improved vastly on the mic and when he got irritated at the Big Show and began yelling about his "custom 3 button" that he had a glimmer of old school Ric Flair coming out? I did. Anyways, I really liked this PPV and most of what it had to offer...Great year ending PPV leading in to my favorite season....WRESTLEMANIA season!
MATCH OF THE NIGHT
Sheamus vs John Morrison
WORST MATCH OF THE NIGHT
Cena vs Barrett - for match placement and it's all too standard booking
SHOCK OF THE NIGHT
The Del Rio table spot
LET DOWN OF THE NIGHT
Cena vs Barrett did not thrill or even inspire a tense moment.
