I've been hearing alot about the UCLA/UConn winning streak. Personally, i think its comparing apples to oranges. Some of my friendx think that it is a GREAT accomplishment and its awesome, some dont like it (mainly UCLA, "old school" fans), and some just think that its "overrated" because the competition isn't the same between the two.
What are YOUR opinions?

It's not the same competition - but still...88 straight wins is 88 straight wins.

Candace Parker is the only halfway decent WNBA player looks wise. I vote for them being really good and the other teams just not being able to play good against them.

Regardless of it being a mens vs womens thing, I look at it similar to how basketball was during UCLA's time and NBA with the early Celtics.
The competition might not be up to par with today but there are good teams, its just those 3 mega-teams are on a level all on their own. If you want to beat them, you either have to catch them off guard, adjust to their play style, or wait until the players retire/lose interest.
Wooden built UCLA soo strong that by the time he's in the middle of the title and winning streak, every big name would want to play for him as their first choice. Celtics basically perfected the big man with small guys as quick passers that was done by the Lakers 1st dynasty and made the league adjust to them than the Celtics adjust to the NBA style.
UConn's main benefit is that their main rival, Tennessee, started a decline period 1-2 years ago and need some time to rebuild back into a dominate force.

Streak over at 90. Stanford beat them, they were the last team to beat them when the streak began.
