What are the chances of Alberto del Rio being future endeavoured for almost fully unmasking Rey Mysterio last night on live TV, with no chance for them to edit it out? Isn't seeing Mysterio's face a big WWE no-no?

Discuss.

I'd doubt it. We don't know if it was a work or not and the fact they seem quite hot on him right now.

Just the concerned surprise in Matt Striker's voice when he called 'you can see his face!' made me think maybe it was an accident. And going by what happened to Daniel Bryanson when he apparently seemed to forget what the company no-nos are and choked Justin Roberts with his tie, I couldn't help but imagine the worst.

If he's not future endeavoured, would you expect him to get a demotion for doing this? The removal of his push, jobbing to Hornswoggle kind of stuff?

No. Definitely wasn't an accident. Pretty much happens almost every time Mysterio feuds with someone. He would probably have to take the whole thing off for it to be an issue.

Don't be silly. If it really wasn't supposed to happen, the camera could have cut away, and the announcers would have just no-sold it.

It is a common thing in Lucha Libre style in Mexico to do the gimmick of taking off the face's mask during a match, kinda like the ultimate insult... Happens in almost every match... Just adding a lil' Mexican flavor to the match that's all...

Jericho came a lot close to showing his face. He pretty much had the mask off 80% in plain view of the camera at one point.

he was unmasked while in WCW for like 2 years so it's not like his ugly little rat face is some sort of big secret.

I call BS on there being a "no choking rule" in place when DB made his short-term leave from the WWE. It was 100% because of the election.

Didn't Eddie rip off Rey's mask entirely and suplex him on the steel steps?

I hope not, I have become such a huge ADR fan

I bet Alberto Del Rio could rip his mask off completely unscripted on live tv. And nothing would happen. You know why? Because Alberto Delllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Riooooooooooooooooo is the man.

Because the SmackDown roster is so deep that they'd fire the guy getting the biggest push on the brand.

I think Eddie also did the Lucha Libre Mask Rip on Rey.

I'm guessing it's the Lucha Libre equivalent of blading, I dunno.

Del Rio looks to be their breakout star so I'm sure he's safe. I can sense a babyface turn for him in the next 6 months or so.

Del Rio is NOT going to lose his job over that, for a number of reasons.

SmackDown has a nice Latino following.
Del Rio is pure money.
You're an idiot.
It's a work.
Del Rio is awesome.
