CARTHAGE - Jeff Hardy, a professional wrestler from Cameron who was arrested last year on drug charges, plans to plead guilty in court next month, according to the Moore County district attorney.
Moore County deputies raided Hardy's home in September 2009 after Fayetteville police received a tip about drug use there.
Lawmen found about 262 doses of Vicodin, a prescription painkiller, 180 Soma prescription pills, 55 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He faces several drug charges.
Hardy, 33, is the current world champion of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on the Spike TV cable channel.

WWE and WCW haven't been in the past, don't see why TNA would be held to any kind of standards for doing the same thing. That said, it'd be an awful idea.

They'll probably just have Ken Anderson win the belt, destroy it, and then Matt Morgan will put Hardy on the shelf.
From PWInsider:
When Jeff Hardy pleads guilty to his drug charges on 1/20, it will be part of a plea bargain negotiated with the Moore County Prosecutor's office, according to The Southern Pines Pilot.
"We anticipate a resolution of this matter in January," Hardy's attorney, Jeff Van Camp, told the newspaper.
District Attorney Maureen Krueger told the newspaper that that the agreement would include a guilty plea to "one or more of the drug charges" Hardy faces and that the agreement includes a sentencing agreement. There is a chance that the court could reject the agreement, but that isn't considered likely.
Hardy was arrested in September 2009 at his home and charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony drug trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Well, guessing is best done when based on logic and certain certainties.
When one's logic is sound, it leads to a better guess. :p

His logic is sound. Jeff has been allowed to push this thing back several times and they haven't seemed to complain about it. If some thing like this happened to Lindsay Lohan again she'd get the riot act thrown at her. I think they want Jeff to just do community service and to teach kids about the dangers of drug use. I hope he doesn't pull that bullshit about self-healing and preaching that rehab doesn't work. Fuck you Jeff for saying that.
It seems to be his first major offense and it's somewhat a trumped up charge. He's not going to sell drugs he's a millionaire. He just had enough pills to be considered a seller. Hell in Florida they arrested a guy in a wheel chair for having too much pain pills that were legally supplied by his doctor. He went to jail for like three years for being in pain and trying to end it.
Fuck the War on drugs.
You don't think Jeff was at least giving out his drugs to his buddies? You know, Matt, Shannon, Helms, etc?
Serious question (doesn't really pertain to the case): Is it considered dealing if you're giving it out for free? Is there any charge that would cover that?

I would think so because this was the same problem Napster had when they came out. You were getting the product for free and distributing it amongst your friends for free. I mean drugs are a different thing, but if you've got it and you're distributing it whether for money or for free then it's still distributing it and then therefore it's still a crime.

Unless Jeff truly wants to get sober, he will never get clean. He'll go to rehab, go through the hells of withdrawal, he might start feeling good again after a few weeks clean, but once the going gets tough, he'll revert back to his old ways just so he can keep performing. Getting clean is easy. Maintaining sobriety is the real challenge
As cheesy as it sounds, I think the main reason why Shawn Michaels was able to MAINTAIN his sobriety is because he found God. He replaced something with something else. It's a whole lifestyle change. After WM 14, Michaels had the luxury of knowing that he didn't have to work the next day, and take time off away from the ring. Even when he wasn't working anymore, he was still having trouble quitting the pills. He was backstage just to visit a house show and Nash could tell he was on something and saw that he was out of it. Trying to get off opiates when you know you gotta go to work the next day is not fun.
As long as he's still wrestling, I don't ever see Jeff being completely sober, unless he finds something greater to substitute for the drugs. As long as he continues to wrestle and still make money, he's gonna rely on the drugs to cope with the demands of being a pro wrestler.
He's probably thinking "Why get clean, when I know I'm gonna slip down the road?" He's numbing his emotions, so once he starts thinking about how CM Punk is that much better than him, popping a pill will help his ease his pain. Or once Matt starts thinking about CM Punk tearing Lita a new asshole, he'll head over to The Waffle House to help ease the pain

The laws usually phrase it as "distributing" or "intent to distribute."
One can distribute without selling, so it doesn't matter.
though I'd say the same probably implies to the term "deal," since it doesn't need to involve a sale.

I'm guessing Merchandise sales were the reason they'd want him back, especially when all the little girls would go crazy for him.
And distributing/supplying is not as serious as selling/dealing. Or at least that's how it seems since he's only facing 45 days in Jail.

45 days is the mandatory sentence carried in North Carolina for misdemeanors. No way in hell any competent prosecutor is going to allow him to just cop a plea to one misdemeanor based on the amount of drugs and the number of charges that Hardy has been facing. He will have to guilty pleas to at least one felony charge as well i'm betting my money on it. On top of the sentence, i'm pretty sure his plea agreement arranges or carries some type of mandatory in patient rehab, along with probation restrictions, even after completing his "mandatory sentence", he will be look at several years of supervision. So if he thinks he can keep on using and going down the same road, he'll just find himself facing the maximum penalty for all of his charges. And remember, no judge in any jurisdiction has to accept a defendant and prosecutor reached plea agreement. The judge has the right to void the agreement and prescribe the minimum statuate sentencing prescribed to each count of charges levied against the defendant. Best case scenario, either he's dropping the title to Morgan or Anderson or TNA will kayfabe strip him of the title due to some technicality, perhaps Dixie Carter using an injunction against Immortal and stripping Hardy of the title. Either way I say his days with the TNA strap are done....good riddance in my estimation.
