When nexus was formed they beat the poo poo outta Cena and CM Punk. Now he's the leader?? And what happened to Barrett? Also, why is Santino Marella such a retard?

It's not clear if he's the leader, or if he'll stay in the Nexus for long. Either way, I think it's a good move that will keep the group going until a climax at Wrestlemania, and give CM Punk a little extra heat on his return.

The deep, thorough answer: CM Punk wants to prove he can be a bigger person, and Barrett left out of shame.
The easy, more likely answer: Storylines don't have to make sense.

Kinda lost on Nexus' stance with 'Taker.
What exactly are they going to do with it?

I assume in the case of Nexus vs Taker/Kane that they were simply a hired gun for Kane and there is a good chance it was a one time thing. I also think that if Barrett ends up on Smackdown it will be revisited in a feud at some point.

I do remember Barrett saying there was a "reason" for the attack on 'Taker, but he never said what it was.

If Punk was the Nexus leader from the get go. Then the attack on Taker makes sense.

I'm assuming Cena is the person who 'wronged' Punk as per his slammy acceptance speech.

it can't have been completely forgotten as the logo for it still appeared on the big screen last night. not sure what that means, but i love this anyway. all it's going to take is punk explaining why he did what he did and it will all make sense. or at least as much as it needs to. i can't believe they'd make a maneuver like this without having thought it out at least a little bit.

It seems pretty perfect to me. Yeah, Punk was in their original beat-down, but being the "true role model of the WWE," he saw how ambitious and talented these guys were -- dating right back to NXT, even. Now, with Wade Barrett hurt and having led Nexus into a corner, CM Punk once again decides to head a faction -- which had shown sides of overthrowing Barrett in the past, anyway (there was especially notable tension with Otunga).
Punk gains fire-power from Nexus, and Nexus gain a devilish mastermind and former three-time World Heavyweight Champion in CM Punk. It's a mutual relationship, and it'd be interesting to see where Wade Barrett fits into all this. Note: He's not necessarily out of Nexus. He's hurt, and when he returns, it's possible he and CM Punk will team up as "co-leaders" of the Nexus. Or CM Punk will be given some sort of title, and Wade Barrett will still be referred to as the leader or "founder." Punk joining just adds credibility.
Hey, Punk was an NXT Season 1 Pro after all.
