I'm looking over the Genisis card and was wondering is the X Division done? Looking at the belt reciently you've got Robbie E and Kaz as the only real challangers. EY is in the tag division, I cant remember the last Brian Kendrick match, I'm not sure what there planning with the Pope and it would make sense for Amazing Red to form a tag team with his "little brother" (then again its TNA) Do you think that it's the final days of the X Division in TNA?

Side note, I actually looked up Little Red and he's decient in the ring. He actually is younger than Amazing Red go figure

Wouldn't there have some sort of announcement if it were gone?

Not really his brother.

Not really his brother.

I know, I just thought it was funny because Amazing Red is older than they guy who plays his little brother Tommy Mercer (even though he's almost twice his size)

I think they should just rename it or something because "X Division" sounds fucking stupid and always has. They renamed the Legends/International/Television Championship 3 times in 3 months.

I dont even really know who holds a Belt in TNA now or which belt AJ has.

Jeff is the TNA Champ
Robbie E is X division champ
Dunno who the tag champs are.
I think AJ has a belt.

But the only thing I see on TV is Matt Morgan, Jeff, Bishoff, JJ MMA, and boring shit I dont care about.

What about their TV title? I thought AJ had it? Is it regularly defended on free tv like it is supposed to?

Doug Williams is the current TV Champ.

Jay Lethal is the X Champ and will face Kazarian at the next PPV.

When did the latter happen? I recall the former now.

Aha. I was out of town since Dec 6 and just recently got back. Thanks :y:

I think people overvalue the glorified Cruiserweight Championship. The fast-paced stuff will draw in some viewers and differentiate them from WWE but it is still just a glorified Cruiserweight Championship that had a few "elite" wrestlers fight over it. Did the Daniels/Joe/AJ match main event that ppv because of the X-Division Title or because they made the belt mean more because they were that good.

Other than Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle, its a glorified Cruiserweight Championship.

This. They don't really focus on title chases, which seems like it should be the entire point. Who's the Knockout's champion? I dunno... let's have Sarita go monkey shit and try to kill people and make Angelina Love think she's hallucinating a real person who has a profile up on the TNA page, yet no one else working there can see her.

Aren't the tag champs MCMG? Meh, fuck 'em, have them wrestle GenMe again, then not be heard from for another 3 months in matches or promos in spite of being still wayyyy more over than they should be from consistent lack of exposure.

Doug Williams is the what champ? Which belt does Lethal have? I'm confused as to exactly which one is the second tier title, as they're both third wheel programs- and as entertaining as it may be (and by TNA logic, is one of the most "going somewhere" angles in recent history) why is Double J Double M A getting more screen time than title holders?

Hell, even the WORLD TITLE picture is more about a FUCKING CONCUSSION ANGLE around two contenders than being about dethroning the champ himself (although, that part may be out of neccessity from Jeff's legal issues, but still, you should see where I was going with that.)

Why should we take any champions they have seriously when TNA doesn't even appear to? And leading back to the original question, why even have a "division" when it doesn't appear to have enough people interested in pursuing the belt? It's like This makes that McDonald's belt look like a more credible championship than the X-Division strap!

The X Division was awesome when they had Styles/Joe/Daniels fueding over it. Don't follow TNA religiously or anything, so haven't really kept up with the X-Div since then.

However, I hope they don't get rid of it, as it feels like a 'staple' in the TNA title scene. If anything they should get rid of the Legends Title, if they haven't already. Always thought that was a retarded title.

Get rid of the X division, rename the Knockouts division the XXX division and make them all wrestle naked.

The X-Division has always been a good idea, in my opinion. Some people say it sounds stupid, I personally thought it was a great name for the division and championship. It immediately makes you think of the X-Games, which are extreme sports. And in the beginning, the X-Division was the most extreme thing TNA had going for them. I don't care if they weren't technical masterpieces, the matches that guys like Low Ki, Juventud Guerrera, AJ Styles, Amazing Red, Christopher Daniels, Chris Sabin, Austin Aries, and Kid Kash were having back in 04-06 were fucking off the charts. Most entertaining matches I've seen outside of the "big ones" of those same years. It was incredible the things that they could do in the ring; it still is. During that time, the X-Division was show cased as an important part of TNA. It's what made them stand out. WWE doesn't have that. They destroyed the cruiserweight division for no particular reason, and TNA had all of the good cruiserweight action in spades.

Of course, Hogan and Russo have never respected the smaller guys further than "go out and do some flips and warm up the crowd for my promo." So until they're gone, the X-Division will remain a worthless piece of shit.

The X Division has been dead since Suicide won the belt, buried MCMG and Lethal Consequences by beating them every week concluding in a clean win in a one on four handicap match before subsequently becoming a massive jobber. Though I guess he was aptly named.

I always thought that Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy should have been brought in for the X-Division. Really drive home what an attraction that division is to talent, and how unique it is to TNA, by having RVD and Hardy say they wanted to come to TNA just to compete there. I think it also could have benefited from Kurt Angle stepping in to work that style with some of the guys. Don't tell me that a Kurt Angle vs. Alex Shelley match would not be awesome.

But Hogan and Bischoff have really made a mess of TNA (with Russo's help). Personally, I think the best thing they can do for the X-Division is look around for some amazing indy talent who can work the style, and work on getting them contracted while Frankie Kazarian and AJ Styles feud over the belt.

At Genesis, have Doug Williams defeat Styles with the Chaos Theory, which means Styles is out of Fortune. You can also have Kazarian defeat Jay Lethal to win his fourth X-Division Title, and The Motor City Machine Guns defeat Beer Money to retain the TNA World Tag Team Titles. That way Styles has both an inadequacy thing with Kazarian, but also isn't the only Fortune guy to lose. Sets up a pretty good face turn, which can culminate in Kazarian vs. AJ Styles for the X-Division Title at Lockdown.
