The "I Don't Care Anymore If John Morrison Can Work a Mic" Thread (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

I just don't care anymore. Between his match with Sheamus at TLC and his WWE Championship match with the Miz tonight at Raw... literally... FTW! You may be beyond help.

If people will persist to complain about his mic ability, you are a narrow-minded moron. Like JR said, he'll develop it as he continues to progress, but I think the time has come for people to stop complaining about it. The guy knows how to perform.

Morrison is the 2nd coming of HBK in terms of wrestling skill. The guy can tell a story in the ring, and I can't remember the last time I said that about any wrestler in any other match. Sure, there have been great matches, but how many times can you say that a match told a story well.

So in conclusion, John Morrison = Amazing! :cool:

His mic work would be passable in a promotion that isn't promo-heavy like WWE is. He's in WWE, though, and they look for the complete package. Until he can up his game on the mic, I don't see him getting very far.

I think his in-ring work is great. I only bring up his sub-par mic abilities because that's what WWE wants. I myself don't really care because I do enjoy his in-ring work.

Edge wasn't really even all that good on the mic until 2005.

Sure his stuff with Christian was great but I always thought that that was more of a representation of how good Christian was. Which is very much like John Morrison who used to be very intresting with The Miz but by himself... not so much.

The John Morrison/Edge comparison is very apt. Morrison, like Edge, just needs to find a character that he's good at playing. With his in-ring ability the WWE will give him a small push bi-yearly until he shows some mic skill, and once he does Morrison will be a top guy very much in the vein of Edge.

Morrison is fantastic in the ring but as was said earlier the WWE is looking for guys that can cut promos mainly. And if that guy that can cut promos happens to be able to wrestle that's just gravy.

This all being said lets show some respect for The Miz because he did a great job tonight in his match with Morrison. I'm not the biggest Miz fan he is slowly becoming a good in ring competitor. He's still a ways away from being on of the best in the ring but he knows how to up his game and can also tell a story. Bravo for The Miz.

Who would have thought that two Tough Enough kids would have put on such a great match.

Morrison can talk, but he struggles when it's live. They can easily get around that problem by having him do pretaped backstage promos more often.

I think his mic skills are fine. They were obviously much better when he was a heel, especially when he was doing the Dirt Sheet with Miz, but seriously, how many people can you honestly say is better on the mic as a face than as a heel?

John Morison has an infinite amount to go b4 he can be even close to HBK's boots! Yeah Morison can do some flippy moves but he cant do the classics that HBK has put on. Morison the second coming of HBK? :rofl:

In terms of how good he is, hes alright but he rely too much on flippy moves instead of tech. He seem sloppy to me but he is pretty good I cant take that away from him. He should just develop more technical moves and tone down on the flippy stuff so that when he does use it its something new and exciting.

And your right, just because his mic skills suck (they are the worst of any upper mid carder in WWE right now), doesnt mean we shouldnt pay attention to him. Some guys with a awful mic skills got pretty far in the business.

Morrison needs to stop trying to be an RVDesque Surfer sounding dude. Fuck the way he talks just drives me nuts he's so dull and so almost goofy that he seems completely (regardless of in ring talent) out of placed in the main event scene.

His gimmick isn't doing him any favours, because there's no personality. He played the cocky heel well with the Miz but as a face he needs that other dimension otherwise people won't care; something other than "the guy who looks like Jim Morrison and does parkour".

I'd be concerned that a heel turn would result in a toning down of his in-ring style. You can't do the "flippy-floppy" moves that get such a positive reaction from the crowd whilst you're a heel.

Yeah, we've seen heel luchadores/cruisers but that's when there was a division for it. The "WWE Style" is not all that dynamic so anyone that offers something different/flashy is gonna get over. Look at Mysterio, Bourne, etc.

Morrison will be fine as a babyface in time. He's just coming off two big PPV wins against Sheamus and the opening match of 2011. He could realistically win a World Title this year. But after reading the RAW results, I'm not entirely sure that a heel turn right now would be a bad move. Just have Morrison confront Randy Orton on RAW, and say he wants another WWE Title shot. Orton tells Morrison he had his chance, but he blew it like he blows everything. Orton vs. Morrison, possibly for the title shot, that night, which Orton wins cleanly with an RKO out of nowhere.

At the Royal Rumble, John Morrison actually helps The Miz retain the WWE Championship. Morrison then enters the Royal Rumble, and Orton runs out and tosses Morrison out of the match -- setting up a program between the two for Mania. Morrison's character wouldn't change initially, but he reveals more and more of a darker and egotistical side as time goes on.

I'm sure he's a very nice guy, too nice if letting Bats bang your missus is anything to go by, but as a professional wrestler, I can't really stand him. I appreciate his 'athletic ability' and no doubt he's capable of having very good matches but he absolutely bores me to tears and no amount of good matches is going to change that.

I'd just like to say that after Morrison blasted Riley with the knee on the barricade last night, and was outside staring at Miz, he looked really badass. I love Morrison, but that was the first time I saw him and thought "Wow, this guy could fuck someone up." He just had that "You're next fucker" look on his face.
