Was thinking about this the other day; not sure if it's been covered before, but the Undertaker may have reason to kiss Jim Helwig's ass at least once. Clearly his Wrestlemania undefeated streak is more valuable to Taker than the title runs or specific feuds that he's had over the years. No, go back to Wrestlemania 8. It's Taker's 2nd Wrestlemania, and he defeats Jake Roberts. But, we know that after Warrior held Vince up and was given the boot, Taker was Warrior's replacement opponent for Roberts, and this was presumably responsible for Taker's face turn. The question being, were there plans to pair Taker with someone else in the run-up to Wrestlemania 8? Vince has clearly been high on the Undertaker since day one, so it's likely that he would have gone over a different opponent just the same, but surely things could have been different. Am I missing any essential info on this? Any thoughts from anyone?

So he would have faced someone else and beat them instead.

Anything else?

The 2 don't 'correlate'. Warrior held up Vince for the money around Summerslam '91 and Takers program with Jake started long after, Jake feuded with Savage as 'late' as early 1992, Taker was involved with Hogan, Flair, the belt etc in the meantime. The Warrior/Jake program would have been finished long before Taker/Jake at Mania.

All I can think of now is those "trust me" promos from Jake Roberts. Chilling stuff.

Well, Undertaker's very first major feud in the WWE was with the Ultimate Warrior, which lasted from April to August 1991. Before the end of that feud, Jake Roberts got involved, betrayed Warrior, and joined Undertaker. Before Warrior and Roberts start feuding, Warrior was fired after SummerSlam.

In November 1991, Roberts started feuding with Randy Savage, especially after the snake bite incident. In February 1992 on SNME, Roberts tried to attack Savage and Elizabeth, but Undertaker interfered. Weeks later, Roberts asked Undertaker who's side he's on, and Undertaker solidified his face turn by saying...NOT YOURS!!!, which set up the match at WrestleMania VIII.

These first feuds with Warrior and Roberts, as well as his matches with Hulk Hogan for the WWF title, gave The Undertaker the abilities of ring psychology and character.

after that Warrior DVD, everytime I watch the Match Made in Hell at Summerslam 91 when Warrior runs after the heel team through the curtain at the end, I imagine Vince standng there and going off on him

Takerjake

Sounds like some kind of special fishing lure.

"Whenever I go bass fishin', I always bring my Takerjake! Scares the damn fish right into the boat!"

Sounds like Watergate.

He could give Warrior a buck or two.

I don't think he's doing too well being a motivational speaker. Especially, after seeing his old promos.

LOL

I read that like Taker took those things from the other guys (which isn't that hard to believe if he took Hogan's sense of psychology) perhaps by eating part of their souls.
