Discuss your thoughts on the "2nd phase" of Triple H's career and memories of the single loudest sustained roar in the history of professional wrestling. Also, you can treat this as a general Triple H Appreciation Thread.

I will also be taking bets on how long it takes Juan to merge this thread with my other Triple H thread.

Seriously, I watch this on Youtube once a week. The reaction was amazing and we will NEVER hear a reaction like this again. I'm a huge HHH fan, and I remember watching this live. Epic. That reflexive smile at 4:43 was really cool to see, obviously an emotional moment for him.

It's not even the first part of the cheer that gets to me.

It's the second part where he emerges from the curtain and stands on the ramp. Chills down my spine.

Jesus....This moment is unforgettable, i remember that day & even if i watch this 20 times continuosly i still get that chiling feeling, its was an epic return, always love that jacket, he looked so badass with it, wish he someday would use it again

I Love how he in the ring does his epic taunt in every corner hahahahaha.

It was exciting back in 2002, but over time now I feel it is a slightly overated moment.

The man's quad was torn off the bone. The man left at a pivotal point in WWF history and returned in what seemed like a completely different era/company. Triple H came back from the brink of death and overcame the odds (Cenaesque before Cena was CENA) and returned to become the single greatest superstar in the history of professional wrestling...next to Shawn Michaels.

The greatest heel since Rowdy Roddy Piper returned to the love and adulation of the entire wrestling world who had missed his truly great and unique craft for 8 months. Finally, the wrestling world had its greatest warrior back! Finally, Triple H had returned to compel the audience with his flawless ability to draw in our emotions. Finally, Paul Levesque was back to being the immortal figure of tenacious greatness and not a mere mortal with a bad leg. God bless Jim Ross for making this moment even more memorable. God bless Triple H for fighting for all of us so we could be blessed to watch him do what he does best.

Why the hell would you watch that clip once a week? Is it a Monday morning ritual? Wake up, shower, eat some captain crunch, watch HHH return on RAW, get dressed, then go to 1st period English? sad sad man :'(

the single loudest sustained roar in the history of professional wrestling.

Jericho's debut in 1999 was louder.

HHH certainly got a huge pop but I kinda wonder if they pumped up the volume or put extra mics in the crowd that night.
It seems a bit much compared to similar returns by Austin, Rock or Undertaker.

Still awesome. The pop certainly sustains longer than others, but I don't know if the initial pop is as loud as some other things.

Robodiv

Aye, listening back the stustain is longer, but I still think when the words "JERICHO" appear on the titantron in 1999, holy fuck.

Hogan got a pretty loud sustained roar when he returned on an episode of Smackdown years back. I remember him coming out, getting in the ring as they went to commercial, coming back to the crowd still going insane for a good 5 minutes, going to ANOTHER commercial and then coming back for him to actual begin speaking.

Of course, it being smackdown, the time during the commercials was likely mere seconds but still, there was a segment dedicated to nothing but the crowd going crazy.

What I loved about this,is that it led to the Hogan v Michaels match, otherwise known as "Oversellous" on youtube. I still watch it now and again for complete shits and giggles.

Michaels dig at having to play heel to hogan to promote hogan knows best on RAW the night after was also funny.

Anybody can get a loud quick pop. Steve Blackman got one on RAW XV ffs. Alas, I believe this was an honest reaction without aural aid from WWE. It is further proof that deep down the entire wrestling world wishes they were more like Triple H.
