From WWE.com:

Thanks to help from the WWE Universe, Delta and NASCAR’s Carl Edwards, John Cena has surpassed his goal of raising 3 million Delta frequent flyer miles for Make-A-Wish Foundation by the end of 2010.

After a generous donation by Edwards, as well as a contribution of an extra 1 million miles by Cena, 4.2 million miles (and counting) will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation!

“We did it. We hit the 1 million mile mark in donations of Delta frequent flyer miles with the help of my good friend, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, who donated his Delta miles to put us over the top,” Cena said. “It is a true credit to the WWE Universe that during this holiday season everyone was willing to give something back.”

Cena has been a strong supporter of Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2004. He recently granted his 200th wish, a milestone that was featured on CBS’ The Talk. He earned the foundation's highest honor, the Chris Greicius Award, at WrestleMania XXVI in Phoenix. He was also named Wish Ambassador at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania in Houston.

“The drive to 1 million Delta frequent flier miles began on Monday Night Raw. It continued on The Talk on CBS, and Mr. 99, Carl Edwards, finished the race for us,” Cena explained. “I am proud of everyone that donated their Delta frequent flyer miles and I’ll continue to do my part to bring smiles to kids' faces in 2011.”

Not only did the WWE Universe respond by donating Delta frequent flyer miles. Additionally, WWE fans generously responded through a text-to-donate campaign, raising an extra $14,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“Nearly 70 percent of our wishes involve travel. That makes donating Delta SkyMiles a very meaningful but easy way to be part of the Make-A-Wish mission,” said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer.

“We’re grateful for all that WWE, Delta Air Lines and Superstar John Cena have done to encourage supporters to donate their SkyMiles and become part of a wish kid’s life-changing experience,.” Williams continued. “Many thanks to Delta and John Cena for matching those donations to bring us a much-needed four million Delta SkyMiles!”

Holy shit, that could take care of a lot of wishes. Good for everyone involved!

Looked it up (Wiki, so not sure if accurate) but a trip around the earth's equator is roughly 25,000 miles. That puts in perspective just how many miles that is.

John Cena is a fund-raiser's dream. He will go and raise the shit for you if the cause is worthy.

Good for him though.

Good for Cena. Not gonna deny, I have no idea what all this 'flyer miles' stuff actually means, but whatever.

I don't think anyone hates Cena the out of the ring person, unless they're some kind of monster.

I would never hate the out-of-ring Cena as I don't know him. Good for him for doing so much charity work.

It's a program where you earn free flying time as you fly more. They're donatable to charitable causes. Guys like wrestlers and racecar drivers obviously run up a lot of them and more obviously don't need them. They therefore donate them to Make-A-Wish so that the flying expenses are taken off of the foundation and they can therefore do more for more people.

Good for Cena and Edwards.

<3 John Cena as a human being. Truly do. Still don't think he's worthy of flag bearer of this generation in the WWE...but that has nothing to do with her person.....just his skills and personA. Good man.

The WWE could just fly the people from the Make-a-Wish in their private jet and forgo having to use Delta airlines.

Triple H is too busy using it to fly midcarders to the graveyard.
