Rare games/ collectors games

So my son decided the other day, he's completed Lego Indiana Jones for the Wii, but he wants the same game for my 360, so he can go through it again. No problem, I picked it up pre-owned on eBay for £3.

So yesterday I get round to selling the Wii version, and when I look it up on eBay, I'm pretty surprised to find that the cheapest copy of this game on Buy It Now is £50. What the fuck? Found this pretty amazing, and a nice little bit of unexpected cash on the side for me.

Anyone else had any unexpected experiences like this?

What other fairly recent games fall into this category?

Nascar Racing 2003 Season. Bought this for like $30-$40, then saw it a couple of months later in the bargain bin for like $10. That would disgust you enough, but shortly thereafter EA bought exclusive rights to the Nascar license and every copy was going for over $100 on ebay a couple of years ago.

I just checked and for some reason they are still over $60 for the buy it now prices. I should probably sell it as I haven't played it in years.

Could of bought a case of them and sold one to make up every penny spent. :nono:

Nintendo said they are thinking of a 2nd run of All Stars. If they do, I hope it's only the disc, and not the extras which would make my copy even more valuable.

About a million copies per region avaliable (Japan, US/Canada, Europe/rest of world) or about 2.5 to 3 million total.

Last I heard, it just went over 2 million copies sold.

Are those first 3 games really worth money? I feel like everyone has them. I have all 3.
I have tons of cartridge games, and I'm not really sure what's worth what.

I think some of the "classics" are worth a few bucks but nothing crazy. Are Banjo Tooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day worth anything?
I feel like they are since they came at the end of 64's run. I got them both for like a dollar at a closing video store.

I have MvC2 on Playstation2 somewhere. I think. I looked on ebay once and was shocked to see it's worth a ton. Maybe not anymore though, since it's downloadable now.

Orge Battle 64 used to be worth a good $90-$180 range regardless if it was unopened or used since its supposed to be one of the rarest games for the N64 (very limited amount made).

Didn't think it would drop that badly once it got put on the Virtual Console last year.

I've used this website a few times to estimate the rarity of a game since it takes the averages from Ebay, Amazon, and maybe a few other places.

Its not the official value for a game but gives an idea of how much a certain game can sell on Ebay.
