Ebert himself gave this one 0 stars cos it was very despicable. That's the whole point of the movie.. Although I disagree he even gave the original the same 0 ratings... Fuck him... I like the original.. As for the remake, well, I think I'm retired from seeing remakes. But what the heck, I might check this 2010 version online.

Seems like it's one of those movies that if you enjoy you should seek a doctor or something. I read the story online and it doesn't seem like something I'd enjoy or anybody else who is sane for that matter.

Yeah at first, I had a hard time too.. But then I got used to it.. Man, I even cringed at the part where she cut off the guy's penis in the bathtub scene... Call me sick or whatever... Camille Keaton was wayyy hot back in the days.

Is it just me or this is how Tarantino and Rodriguez came up with the Grindhouse fake trailers? I can imagine Tarantino and Rodriguez making a film similar to this.. That'll be awesome. And the announcer in the trailer even sounds like the same guy who did the Grindhouse fake trailers. :p

The remake is a thousand times better than the original, the rape sequences are much more implied brutality rather than shown brutality, same effect but less exploitation. The revenge portion is given more time and it shifts the mtoif from seduction to just god honest revenge. The thing that always bothered me in the original is that they made her flirt and imply that she liked being raped in order to get revenge, that was just gross. Here there's no flirting no seduction, whereas the original it seems to imply that rape is about sex, in this one it's more representative of what rape is really about, power.
