View Full Version : I'll show you! You'll see! (But not on TNA)
From PWInsider:
Stevie Richards announced this afternoon that he departed TNA, writing on his Twitter:
"Just left Universal Studios. Had a great talk with Terry Taylor and Vince Russo about making the decision to quit TNA Wrestling. Thanks to everyone there for the past 2 years."
Richards' work had been really good during the EV2.0 run so it's a shame he wasn't more in the mix of late. One thing you couldn't deny was his work ethic. Prior to that run, he had portrayed the Dr. Stevie character in the program with Abyss.
With Richards' departure, Tommy Dreamer is the "last man standing" from the EV2.0 contingent, which means for the third time in his career, he's the last "ECW" guy left from a version of that company.

The 3rd time?
So does RVD not count then? I also though Rhyno was still with TNA.

The sad part is he looks in 10 times better shape than Tommy Dreamer. I would have liked to have seen him break off from EV 2.0, maybe even go for a TV title run (or whatever there calling it now).

Not been keeping up with TNA lately but he's probably better off out of there. The Dr. Stevie gimmick was awful, as is anything and everything involving Abyss, and even though he was the only one in great shape he wasn't doing much in EV2.

The guy is in great shape.... WWE should hire him to train the plugs they have in FCW.....

Stevie Richards would've made a great asset to any promotion, as he can put on great matches putting over talent, can help out young talent, and help train people to wrestle.

I love Stevie. Its too bad they didn't pair him with Tara in TNA. Really enjoyed the push he had when he upset Test every week. And when he was Stevie Night Heat. One of the wrestlers I never got a picture with that I really wanted to. Made a Stevie Night Heat and brought it to a Sunday House Show and he took it and showed it off. Never got it back.
He's a guy who really kind of has it all. Charisma, decent move set, and just fun to watch.
Fight the good fight Stevie, its for our own good.

I hope he goes to WWE. I like Richards, and would like seeing him in a promotion I give ag least half a damn about.

I love Stevie, but they're not going to plug in a suprise Rumble entry that less than half the fans will recognize.

I like Stevie. I'm sort of happy that he went to TNA for a bit, because he actually got to do some semi-high profile stuff. I'm not sure, but I think he might have gotten a tag team win over Mick Foley at some point? Good on the guy.
The guy is a bit older, but I'd like to see him end back up in the WWE, even if just as a producer/trainer. Vince McMahon used to be really high on the guy, didn't he? Not to the point where he'd push him aimlessly, but he loved having him around. Even if he appeared on-air as a cagey veteran, or a manager, I'd be so very happy.

Yeah, McMahon did like him. I remember hearing that he was his favourite wrestler, but I think that was just a rumour or something. I also heard that Richards trained Shane for his match against Shawn Michaels at SNME in 2006. But again, probably just a rumour.
I still remember on Raw around 2004 when there was a battle royal for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship and Vince came out and changed the rules so it wasn't for the title. He then used the excuse "What if Steven Richards won the battle royal?" Then we got a shot of Richards nodding along, then Vince said "That would mean that Steven Richards would be your new World Heavyweight Champion!" which then received a few cheers.
I liked that the thought of Richards being champion got some cheers.

I remember that fan poll on WWE.com asking us who we think should get a WWE Title shot, and Val Venis slaughtered in.
