How do you feel about The Big Show? Do you think he's lived up to his potential? Has he gone farther than he should have? Not far enough? How do you feel about his current state?
Discuss The Big Show in the general.

No. I pretty much nothing the Big Show. Not awful but not any good to watch. Usually skip his matches and promos so he doesn't exist in my "universe" most of the time.

Ive always liked Show. I feel like theyve could have done ALOT more with him. The dude is huge, come on. He isnt horrible. He should have been right up there consistently in the main event for years. Sure some of its laziness on his part, but still. He can be entertaining too. The dude is almost as big as Andre was, and can put on decent matches. So why not?

I think Show has done all that he can possibly do in the WWE. He was a world champ, he was in big feuds, he was a face and he was a heel and he had a WWE movie.
Dude isnt good enough to have a legends moment like HBK/Flair, but he has done all he can to be remembered as an important guy in WWE but he is not exactly going to be remembered as a legend or game changer.

I was gonna start a thread about 'starmakers', Wrestlers that have made other people into superstars or just make them look like bad asses in the ring and I was going to ask people about the other side of that as well. Wrestler that make superstars look like shit and hold them back (intentional or not). For the record, I was gonna ask people to hold back on HHH because that's been done to death.
Big Show falls into the second category, if you're not a giant as well, the booking around him makes people look like jobbers. See CM Punk and the SES's feud with him last year and for that reason I can never enjoy him.

I cant think of anything new he has to offer. Regardless of what he's done in the past, he seems to be taking up a spot in most PPVs that should be filled by someone else. He's very limmited in the ring- I can appreciate he sometimes tries out new things and mixes up his move set, but he's lost alot of speed for being older and fatter and it shows.
Honestly, I LIKE him, he seems like a nice guy. I just dont care right now, he's pretty boring to me, in all honesty. :(

First of all, he's getting pretty old now, so his career has no where to go but down at this point. I'm guessing he left WCW because he was sick and tired of the same old song and dance with Hogan and Bischoff running the show. I think his best feud ever was probably with Kevin Nash back in late '97, which led to the 'Big Sexy' nickname and eventually an angle where the powerbomb had been made illegal. Of course, Big Show got buried in that feud, but there was still a lot of heat there.

I think he was better in WCW.
I often wish he would lose that weight (along with Kane).

I love the guy. For his size, he always seemed willing to try new things and make an effort. He's entertaining, and can work as a face, and a heel, and can do both serious and comedy. He's friggin' huge, which excuses him having to be a perfect ring technician, but at the same time, a big man will always have a place in pro wrestling, but considering how many shitty big men we get who can't do fuck all, Big Show has really done well for himself. Plus, the man himself seems like (and from what I've read in the past) a really cool guy.
Sadly, because of varius reasons stated above, right now I don't really care anymore. He's old, has done everything there is, and to be honest it's just not very appealing anymore. A heel turn would be silly since it's already been done God-knows how many times. Don't mind him still wrestling, but if I read tomorrow that he's retired or been released I don't think I'd be too bothered.
He's had some well-deserved title runs, main-event storylines and has main evented a Wrestlemania. He may not be a legend in the same league as Austin, Hogan, Michaels, Flair etc, but this guy definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame some day.

He should have been a bigger star, he's had alot of pushes but also been really badly used probably just as much. If he's not taking care of himself weight wise and whatever then i get why, but the constant stop/start pushes ruined his momentum for me, but his size still lets him credible.
And for a big guy he was pretty athletic, that video of him hitting a moonsault was awesome.

People in the business claim that he's "lazy" and never reached his full potential, but I'm sure he's made tons of money and probably doesn't care. Even if he did work his ass off 100% all the time, I still don't think WWE would have consistently booked him well enough for him to reach his full potential. Do I think he would have been signing autographs at WM18 at WWF New York? No lol, but I think he would have still been doing jobs to wrestlers that didn't deserve to go over a 7 foot giant.
But yeah, I'm a Big Show fan and tend to enjoy most of his stuff. :y:

Casualty of shitty booking and laziness. Could have been great. Still like him though.
Love Show, the person and the wrestler. Could have been one of the biggest names in history if he had any 'real passion' for the business as opposed to being a huge guy that's become accustomed to wrestling. But hey, he's happy with his choices and fair play to him, he's accomplished more than 99% of guys that ever get into wrestling will, he's rich and never has to work a day in his life again if he chooses. And that's the dream of any wrestler at some point down the line.

Love the big buddy role he plays with Teddie. His segments are fairly entertaining when he is a face, his heel persona is not so good (Besides the goofy heel Big Show). The only reason behind this is he smiles and shows he is having to much fun.

The only thing in his carreer that is lackluster is his WM record.
