Who I think will win:

Best Picture: The Social Network
Best Director: David Fincher, The Social Network
Best Actor: James Franco, 127 Hours
Best Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan
Best Supporting Actor: Geoffrey Rush, The King's Speech
Best Supporting Actress: Melissa Leo, The Fighter
Best Original Screenplay: Inception
Best Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network

Who I want to win:

Best Picture: Inception
Best Director: I wouldn't mind Fincher, but part of me wants Aronofsky to get the recognition he's deserved for a long time.
Best Actor: Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network. Though Franco winning wouldn't bother me at all.
Best Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan. Yeah come on, no one's challenging her.
Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, The Fighter
Best Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit. There's not a single reason she shouldn't be nominated for Best Actress. That movie rests on her shoulders.
Best Original Screenplay: Inception. How do you not give this to Inception.
Best Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network. Sorkin did his thang.

Should have been nominated: Chris Nolan for directing Inception, Ben Affleck for directing The Town, Andrew Garfield for The Social Network, Joseph Gordon Levitt and possibly Tom Hardy for Inception, The Town for Best Picture.

Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor: Geoffrey Rush
Best Supporting Actress: Helena Bonham Carter

Other notes: Kinda pissed none of the movies from the Millenium Series got a nod for the foreign film catagory. But, whatever.

I'm way out of the loop on this this year. I've seen most of the movies being mentioned here. It just doesn't feel like there are a slew of worthy candidates. Feels like a slow Oscar season.
Last year was a bit thin, as well. Yet 2007 and 08 were full of top choices.

I've seen Black Swan and Social Network, and still need to see 127 Hours and True Grit. But other than that, I haven't picked up much hype on the winter films.
Inception and Nolan have just as much of a right to the gold as anything, I'd say.

I feel like King's Speech is abruptly being sort of groomed into a needed spot, but I'll have to see it.

Really glad Winter's Bone got a nom, good choice for their obligatory Indie pick. Also glad the woman from Animal Kingdom got a nomination.

Best Picture - The King's Speech. This was getting Oscar buzz back in September during the festival season. Although this and The Fighter are the only two nominated films I have not seen yet.
Best Director - David Fincher
Best Actor - Colin Firth
Best Actress - Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor - Geoffrey Rush
Best Supporting Actress- Helena Bonham Carter
Best Original Screenplay - The Kids are Alright
Adapted Screenplay - The Social Network
Best Foreign Language Film - Incendies (hope this one wins as well, because it's Canadian)

I can't take the Academy Awards seriously anymore since they nominate ten movies for Best Picture now.

You know what pisses me off Inception is gonna get utterly screwed out of everything, not even a Best Director Nom? It's literally the only summer blockbuster to really rise above being just a popcorn flick and into being legitimate cinematic art. The only one I can think of anyway
