What is this, like the 5th RR related poll?

Yeah but it's everybody's favorite and 2nd oldest gimmick PPV of the year. So, that's why there are so many polls and tournament polls about it.

It's also a time of the year where an underdog can get a chance for the title. Where else could Dolph Ziggler fight for the World title this early in his career? Or Jeff Hardy when he challenged Randy Orton? Or Hardcore Holly challening for the WWE Championship against the man who broke his neck Brock Lesnar? Anything can happen at the Royal Rumble.

I don't really see how anything other than Benoit vs. Angle at RR 03 can win here. An in-ring masterpiece on every fucking level.

1993- Bret The Hitman Hart vs. Razor Ramon-best match at the PPV and one of my favorite Bret title defenses. This also really solidified that Scott Hall had great technical ability and was one of the best guys on the roster during the time period until he left in 1996.

1995- Bret The Hitman Hart vs. Diesel- I also felt this was the best match at the PPV. The Rumble only had four major superstars and a bunch of jobbers and tag team guys and it was only 35 minutes. They went all out and really showed that Diesel was a credible champion (one of my top ten WWE Champs).

1999- The Rock vs. Mankind-I Quit Match-again the best match of the PPV and I thought it really delivered. The Rock was on fire and in my opinion was ready to cement his name as a true top guy at this event.

2000- Triple H vs. Cactus Jack- Street Fight- again this is the best match at the PPV though I greatly enjoyed the Rumble match as well with my third favorite of all time The Rock winning and it was a great match. Triple H was solidified as a main event guy with the help of Mick Foley and simply became The Game. He was starting to reach his prime, but I feel The Rock and Triple H reached their primes in April-May 2000. The action was great and a phenomenal finish with Foley taking two Pedigrees for Trips to get the W.

2001- Triple H vs. Kurt Angle- This is the match where I felt Kurt finally made the transitition to great pro wrestler. He mastered the style and HHH was in the absolute prime. In my opinion, from January-May when he tore his quad is the best time for HHH in the ring until the 2004-2005 Evolution era. This is my favorite match between these two and the event in general is solid. Great technical story at the beginning followed by a nice brawl at the end with Austin coming out and returning the "favor" from HHH and setting up one of the top ten matches in WWE history at No Way Out. Angle was also on a phenomenal role as champion. I feel it was in January 2001 that he finally arrived.

2002- The Rock vs. Chris Jericho- Phenomenal back and forth match. These guys never missed a beat in any of their matches. All three of their big matches delivered. I felt the match they had on RAW in Nassau Coliseum for the WCW Title may have been their best, but these guys were on top of their game and helped solidify Jericho as a main guy and The Rock always delivered in the big matches in my opinion. Actually three of my favorite title matches ever feature Rock and ironically in three consecutive PPVs vs. Triple H at Backlash and Judgment Day and Chris Benoit at Fully Loaded. Amazing title match, however, the Rumble match at this one is one of the all time best.

2003- Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit- what more needs to be said. I think most people think this is one of the best title matches ever and with good reason. These guys put on a clinic and Angle was really in the prime of his career, though I still think Angle is the man. Angle and Benoit really put it all on the line and solidified themselves as true ring generals and showed that a guy can get over on his ability in the ring. Definitely the match of the night at this PPV as well.

2006- John Cena vs. Edge- Two of my all time favorites in one of the best feuds. This is when Cena-Edge really started heating up and would be rekindled later on in the year leading to three back to back matches at Summerslam, Unforgiven, and the RAW steel cage match. Cena and Edge have great chemistry and I also loved my favorite female in the history of wrestling Lita involved in the main storyline. These guys went back and forth and I like that Cena regained the title. Edge got the win back when he won that triple threat on RAW of course pinning RVD but still he stopped Cena from getting the win and then going on to Summerslam to pin him. I really liked this feud.

2007- John Cena vs. Umaga- Last Man Standing- This was easily my favorite match on the card. The finish in my opinion is one of the best and really put over Cena as being one of the best champions. I know alot of the IWC hates Cena's reign as champion at this time, but I feel it really is one of the best reigns in the history of the company. Cena and Umaga really put the crowd in the palm of their hands and put alot of passion and energy into the match. Cena is a very hardworking individual and I always enjoy watching him in the ring. I know not alot of people agree with me but that's just my opinion.

2008- Edge vs. Rey Mysterio- These guys should have a match on the big stage at Wrestlemania as I feel if they are given 20 minutes they would deliver an incredible match. We got a good taste of what they can do with each other here. Edge was on fire as the Rated R Superstar as we all know (though not nearly as his 2006 run with Lita), Edge and Rey went back and forth with innovative moves such as the DDT to the outside and the midair spear. I was there live and the crowd was electric for it.

2008- Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy- I really enjoyed this match as Jeff represented the fans in a way wanting to grab the brass ring and Orton is the bully telling everybody they can't achieve their dreams. The match was pretty good and the finish with the twist of fate countered into the RKO is incredible. Orton was on fire at this time and Jeff was red hot. He is probably one of the top five most over babyfaces in the company's history. I also thought the video package hyping this match is one of the best ever produced by the company highlighing the evolution of both men's careers.

2009- John Cena vs. JBL- I thought these guys always had good chemistry but the story was all about HBK. The match was good and Shawn's emotion was amazing as he intently looked on at ringside. He knocked out both guys with Sweet Chin Music and I really enjoyed the mini feud between both HBK and JBL.

I knew I should have disqualified Benoit from this poll.

It's like this site wants to completely ignore common sense and vote for him for everything just because it's not what a normal person would do.

I know the poll hasn't closed yet... but for the amount of Foley hate I see in the forums I find it ironic that thus far matches involving him, when added up, have the most votes.

I understand who they are against... but its just food for thought.
