This fight is in a week or so, but I keep thinking that Forrest Griffin does not have a chance in hell.

Both beat two 'Out-of-their-Prime' fighters in Chuck Liddell & Tito Ortiz. One by definitive knockout in 2010 and the other sqeaked by split decision in 2009.

MMA Math:

-Both lost to Anderson Silva.
-Rich put up a far better fight than Forrest did.
-Rich beat his last opponent by knockout (Yes 'no chin' Liddell)
-Griffin managed to squeak by Tito in a split decision
-Rich fought in 2010
-Forrest hasn't fought since 2009
-Both have great heart & cardio
-Rich finishes fights more than Forrest

With ring rust being a factor against Forrest, along with Rich finishing more fights in definitive fashion, I would say Rich takes this in the second round. Either he clips him with a good shot, then pounds him until the ref has seen enough or he clips him and secures an easy choke submission.

Forrest is not winning this fight. And if he does, he does so by picking his shots and staying on the outside and he'll get a judge victory. If Forrest wins I do not see anyone jumping up and down about how awesome this fight is.

If either wins, I don't see anyone jumping up and down talking about how exciting this fight was, although it will be a good fight. Forrest and Rich deserve ME Status, but sadly, time, and the LHW division have passed them by. THere are far younger, way more athletic guys in the UFC now.

Don't really know about the age thing as most of the elite lhw are in their late 20s to early 30s..

Shogun-29
Rashad-28
Rampage-32
Griffin-31
Machida-32

The only guy older is Franklin but he is only 36..

but how many have been fighting as long as Franklin/Griffin? Page, Shogun, ,maybe machida?

Then there's the youngsters, Bones, Bader, Mr. Wonderful, Thiago Silva-if he ever gets his shit together....I could be missing some

Forrest didn't really "squeak" by Tito. He may have gotten a split decision because judging is pretty shoddy in MMA, but if you watched that fight, it was pretty clear that Forrest Griffin was the superior fighter.

Okay, apparently there is a bet between Griffin and Franklin that the loser has to get a tattoo of the winner's choosing.

Interesting.
