this has been on my mind lately, but what do you think would be different about WWE if Eddie Guerrero and Christ Benoit were still alive? what if WWE never went PG?

1. They would be alive and probably wrestling for WWE.
2. It wouldn't be PG.

There.

Really hope people are not dicks and realize you are new.

Eddie would probably still be main eventing and Benoit would be floating around like Christian.

And to the second question, to much typing for me. Sorry.

MON$TER ENERGY, these topics have been discussed ad nauseam over the years.

I suggest you peruse old threads and maybe use the search function.

1) They would both still be main-eventing, but Eddie would be ahead on title reigns and would be more like the Cena to Benoit's Batista.

2) We would still be PG. Business would still have struggled if they'd lived, and they'd still have realized that dwindling ratings and edgy content would have cost them sponsors, resulting in the PG change.

Also 'if' WWE hadn't gone PG I think we'd see something along the lines of the product we had in the early '00s.

2. Perry Saturn would be on Television humping a mop

I'd like to think Benoit would have had one more title run on Smackdown, probably not though.

Apparently Eddie was supposed to win the title the night he died, so I guess more title runs were in the works for him.

Everybody was "supposed to win the title when they died".

Eddie was "supposed to win". Owen was "supposed to win".

Come on, now.

PS: Has anything here NOT been discussed previosuly?

...so some jump on the guy because he made a thread about something that's been talked about before.

Eddie would be prominent in the main event still, a multiple world champion.

Rey doesnt get that nauseating pity run.

Vickie Guerrero doesnt show up on tv to become one of the biggest heels in WWE.

Benoit floats around upper mid card then retires. Ends up in assisted living cause of the state of his brain.

WWE still goes PG. Its the business cycle.

Well, not "jumped on", but he's expected to, anytime he comes up with a topic, search on it to see if there are any threads about it...

Both would still be main eventing. Eddie Guerrero was strongly rumoured to be going back into the World Heavyweight Title scene, and giving things another crack up there. As one of the best all-round entertainers the WWE has ever had, I almost guarantee that Eddie would have been moved to RAW eventually, and pushed there. I also guarantee that the WWE would have eventually run Shawn Michaels vs. Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania, and it would have seemed logical to put Eddie (the less legendary of the two) over, which would have been amazing for him.

Chris Benoit would have continued to have been an amazing in-ring hand, and make stars out of certain people. I have no doubt he would have eventually been given another shot at the top. Although I don't know if they would have done this at Mania, I could very easily have seen Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit as the main event of a SummerSlam. And, with Eddie being as charismatic as he is, I think it would have been easily to turn Benoit heel, and Benoit could have then gotten a "ruthless aggression" push to the top.

I don't think too much would be different about PG. Maybe it wouldn't be as childish as it is now, but we still have fleeting moments here or there. I get the feeling we would have eventually have seen Shaul Guerrero used in an angle by a rising heel, to get at Eddie, leading to a match at this year's WrestleMania, though. :shifty:

Wouldn't surprise me if Eddie would have ended up in TNA by now. With how much he let the business affect him mentally, I'd have thought he'd have gone on hiatus/looking for less dates at some point.

Probably wouldn't be so different. I mean maybe we wouldn't have certain champions but we'd still be in the same position with Eddie and Benoit alive than with them not.

The second question is lame because it was inevitable for the WWE to become PG. It was only a matter of time. Something like that doesn't happen overnight but is planned out well in advance and I think the WWE needs this PG era to succeed.

Just think of it as another 1980's without the big name characters and big storylines.
