Really? Well I stand corrected then!

Yeah, it was a backstage promo the week before he was first set to face CM Punk, and he said that he was going to whoop Punk's ass.

Alright my first time officially watching the promo, and that was pretty badass. Due to work, I usually only set the DVR 5 min over cus it never goes that long anyways, but of course this is the one week where it goes about 20 over, but youtube helped with that. Obviously glad to see The Rock back, even if it is only for a brief time. The man can still promo better than anyone on the roster right now.

And if he wants the longer version....

Ha, always loved this one. And its been a long time since there has been an "asshole" chant during a promo. Back then we used to hear that almost every week.

val is probably trying to bait the rock to get into the ring, since he knows he doesn't plan on it.

Just watching old rock matches from 2000 while drinking, still marking out. :D Got all his PPV matches from 2000 downloaded or on tape. :) + some more.

Remember when Val jobbed to The Rock on Owen Hart night....

"SHUT UP BITCH!"

Rock > Val Venis

What an odd and completely irrelevant thing to mention.

Not completely... Val tweeted about Rocky earlier. And I posted on it, a few others. That last part just came to me...

There are so many things you could say make The Rock better than Val Venis.

Oh I know. it was just one of the random ones that came to my head.

I figured the "Val Venis is a tool" type replies covered that area.

It's pretty sad that The Rock is better on the mic than just about everyone in the company right now. He's been out of the game for years and still does it better than Cena could EVER dream about doing it.

A lot of opinions on wrestling are 100% subjective to the person, but I am sorry you are just wrong. This post you've made for the most part is a general opinion shared by many online, we all know about it and now I am going to dissect it.

....

How is it sad that The Rock is great on the mic? Is he better than Punk? John Cena is the companies PROMO MAN. He plays a character, the character is a really good guy. What the hell has John Cena ever done to betray that image? Also, since you so fervently believe that Cena can't cut it on the mic, what are some things he could do to make you happy? Say "ass" more? Give it a break.

The Rock was great it was a very cool moment, but if you think that was a coherent monologue then you are in the same dream you say Cena is. Cena actually does cut promo's with a beginning - middle - and end. I give the Rock all of the credit he deserves but come on, he really had no idea what to say when he was up there and his auto pilot is a bit rusty, open your eyes and see the truth.

Now I am not saying Cena is a better promo guy than The Rock, they are very similar in a lot of ways and I am sure when Cena turns heel eventually you will find the similarity. I am not saying Cena is better, but to think they are not in the same league is ignorant.

To be completely fair, I was a bit sick of face Rock by the time he left the first time. Sick of his catchphrases and all his new material was gay jokes.

It wasn't totally his fault, no new characters had really been elevated so he couldn't use new material. Anyways, long and short of it is that I didn't mark for his return until Hollywood Rock was fully cemented. That run, combined with his mini-feud with The Hurricane, was some of the best times I had watching WWE.

After 7 long years and that fact, I marked this time.

I've been supporting Cena for over a year now. Since his feud with Randy Orton I feel like he has been consistent and deserving of the top spot. Still marked out like a bitch for The Rock hating on Cena, it's a natural fit.

I think I am coming from this point of view.

I love WWE, I always try to watch Monday Night Raw, Raw is 2hrs, Cena usually takes up half and hour or more each week, why spend all that time hating when I can allow myself to enjoy Cena for what he is.

For some reason it seems people don't admire a true "hero" anymore. The anti hero has been a big hit for a while now. However, Cena is a real dude and he seems like a really good person, and his character is a really good way to get people to go after what they want in life.

Mindless entertainment is fun and all, but WWE really doesn't want to be mindless that's TNA's job. Why not try and teach and learn?

I've had a lot of bad examples as far as leaders in my life, from personal relationships to admiring the wrong kind of people. So I like that John Cena is a good force and sets a good example, kids needs that, and yeah I guess I need that.

Wouldn't mind seeing Rock smack the taste out of Cena's mouth @ Mania. Maybe it'll show him that you can't just piggyback off a legend of a guy like Rock your whole career and expect to get away with it.
