Hey guys. New to the music thread. Have post here before but only a few times. First thread in here. Anyways, I wanna know what you people think about Metallica and list your top 3 favorite Metallica songs. Or dont see if I care.
1. Breadfan
2. King Nothing
3. For Whom the Bell Tolls
Love every thing from Metallica. Yes, even St. Anger. I thought it was damn good and I may be the only person in the world who thinks that way. Ok, so now list your top 3 Metallica albums. So list those to if your not to lazy. Peace.
1. Metallica (1991)
2. Kill 'Em All (1983)
3. St. Anger (2003)
Do you want people to not pay attention to whether you care or not or do you want people to realize that you won't care if they don't post in your thread?

Nope selling out is what ruined Metallica, Bob Rock just made money off of it.

So it's just a coincidence that he produced Black...the same album that earned Metallica the "sellout" label?

Could never do songs, but top three albums would probably be:
1. And Justice For All
2. Death Magnetic
3. S&M
Though I actually love all their albums anyways, even Load, Reload and St. Anger. In fact, I wrote some reviews for them all on various music reviewing websites, and here's the scores I gave them:
Kill 'Em All - 3
Ride the Lightning - 4
Master of Puppets - 4
And Justice For All - 5
Metallica - 4
Load - 4
Reload - 4
Garage Inc. - 3
S&M - 5
St. Anger - 3
Death Magnetic - 5
Yeah, I gave Load/Reload the same score as MOP and RTL OMG!!!:eek::eek:

Its not coincidence, they wanted to sell out and hired him knowing that he could mainstream their music.

Anyone who thinks the black album is better than kill em all is an idiot.
Confused

Anyone who thinks the black album is better than kill em all is an idiot.
Agreed.
They're still an absolutely brilliant live band but the albums have been in steady decline for some time.
Whatever project they are putting together in May will probably be another disappointment.
Which is sad, as I thought Rick Rubin might have brought a bit of life and aggression back to the band in the studio.

Death Magnetic was a vast improvement on St Anger, but the digital distortion found on the drums on DM annoyed the hell out of me.

Okay, first off...Metallica have been accused of being sellouts for almost their whole musical careers...
They were first called sellouts when they released Ride the Lightning because "Fade to Black" used an acoustic guitar. The overall sound of Ride the Lightning was a lot different from that of Kill 'Em All. 100% pure fans of thrash metal, at the time, didn't like Ride the Lightning.
Metallica were then called sellouts because they made a music video for "One."
Then you had the black album.
Then they cut their hair...
Then Napster...
etc.
Favorite Metallica Songs:
Welcome Home
Creeping Death
Harvester of Sorrow
Favorite Metallica Albums:
Master of Puppets
Ride the Lightning
...And Justice for All
Death Magnetic, I thought was a pretty good album. St. Anger, on the other hand, was horrible. There were a few good songs, but the album overall was a huge disappointment.
I also really, really like Garage, Inc. S&M isn't too bad either, I think it's an excellent collaboration.

Songs:
1. Ride the Lightning
2. Whiplash
3. Enter Sandman (First Metallica song I heard, so there's a fondness there.)
Albums:
1. Ride the Lightning
2. Master of Puppets
3. Kill 'Em All
Covers:
1. Die, Die My Darlin
2. So What?
3. Tuesday's Gone (well, it's more for Pepper's verse, but hell.)
Honestly, if another band put out Load or Re-Load, they'd be considered good albums.

This has been said soooo many times before in threads on message boards just like this.
It's 100% true, but it won't change any opinions.
I love Load and Reload btw.
